How long do the juices last in a cart on average ? Like how many normal size pulls ?

Well, the size of everyone's pulls varies. But I"d say I go about 15 minutes of vaping before I need to top off the cartridge. However, don't let the cartridge go completely dry. Just top off when you start tasting too much of the poly filler -- you'll know the taste when you taste it.

Also, don't be discouraged if you find yourself coughing at first. Vapor isn't the same as smoke, and you may have to adjust a bit, just like you did when you started smoking cigarettes.

Oh yeah, and welcome to ECF!

After a half hour of vaping 24mg cherry it started tasting like black cherry or bad breath cherry . is that the taste you describe ? I did top it off though and still tastes that way . Iv been working late tonite so the last 5 hours iv been vaping and topped it off twice even though it didnt look like it needed it . I put a drop or two each time and anymore would have pooled .

It seems to be serving its purpose though because iv only had 3 newports in 5 hours . Normally in that amount of time i would have smoked 10-15+ . Im normally about a 2 pack a day smoker .

Can anyone suggest some really good liquids . Im not really liking any of the ones i got . I wanted to try bwb liquids but it seems the site is down . Heres a list of what i got and didnt like :

All from liberty flights vg
1 24mg cherry
2 18mg cappuchino
3 8 mg d doff
4 24 mg menthol blend
5 12mg spearmint

The best one is cherry but even that isnt great . The rest i really didnt like at all . I would like to try a menthol like a newport where its not super minty but just barely noticable .The one i go were mintier then winterfresh gum . Also some non analog tasting liquids which are really good but not overwelming .

Also just wondering has anyone tried to use a foam sponge like one in their carts ? I do pro detailing on the side and this absorbs like crazy . I can get almost 1 gallon of water in it without it dripping

The foam sponge would likely fail, for a couple reasons, poor heat resistance and absorbing too much. It has not only to absorb a lot but let go of the juice easily (without squeezing :) )
One alternative is detailed here : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/145711-fluval-cart-filler-no-leaks-instructions-pictures.html#post2331792

Regarding flavors, they are very subjective and personal. I took to making my own juice finally to get the taste and strength of flavor I like. YMMV Trying small bottles from various vendors is the next best alternative. Want2Vape, FreedomsmokeUSA and many others have good flavors and samples.

MMMM juice is such a personal thing. Your going to find one (wo)man's juice is anothers nastiest tasteing thing since crab and chocolate pudding mixed together!!!!

You'll also find what YOU think is good, someone else will think is nasty :0). So when ordering a juice because everyone says it's good......use a grain of salt. Most suggest you try samplers of different juices. Then when you find 1 or more you like, order bigger versions.

My 2cents!

Long ago and far way when I was briefly using carts, I got these bagfuls of blue foam; they're pre-cut, ready to go and plenty cheap enough: https://strictlyejuice.com/index.ph...ducts_id=222&zenid=bbvlugo18mprdviqe5qcvpbdq7

While you're there, Strictly EJuice is a good place to get sample-size (3ml) juice from, until you get a handle on what you like. But if you do, bear in mind they're Chinese imports.

A better place to go for liquid (IMHO) is FSUSA, especially for tobacco flavors, of which they have a huge variety: FreedomSmokeUSA

At a minimum, you'd do well to try their PureCig flavor.

Regarding cartomizers, I've heard nothing but good about Boge--although I've never tried them. I was steered onto IkenVape's Fushion and Gold V2: Customer Login

The bottom line with cartos is that if you try them, get good ones. I bought some cheap ones early on and was soured on cartos for months.

PI, I support everything you say except FSUSA, didn't like their juice including Purecig, too peppery. Sorry, just a taste thing:)

Chris, "carts working!" :thumb:

I got that blue foam from Strictlyejuice to use in those little carts, works great. To answer your question of how long - depends on juice. I get +-1/2 hour on more PG juice on cart + foam, 1 hour on Dekang tobacco flavor juice 50% VG or higher, actually counted 40 puffs. I was doing an experiment in another thread. But, everyone draws/puffs differently, so YMMV.

Also, I don't recall Riva attys coming with primer fluid, not noticeable anyway.

Yea i was looking at fusa's site and they have tons of juices . I will probably try some next . It seems like a lot of people dont like them ,well some of their juices and mrs'sT happened to have the best juices according to most so i tried them first . I will eventually try some from lots of different places . I really wanted to try som BWB but sites down for now . I did see the blue foam at stricklyejuice . Im gonna head over to petco though which is 5 min from my house before i order online .

When i finish using up my atty's/carts which im really liking now ,ill try some boge cartos . All the liquids i have tried so far are all LF VG's and not a fan of most that i got .

If/when you get the foam, cut to twice the width of the cart. You can still squeeze it in. Cutting too small won't work. Try a little bit first before mass cutting.

I myself am a fan of Ms. T's juice. It's sweet yet not too sweet. If you like cinnamon, tasty vapor has a flavor called atomic cinnicide which I'm loving. It tastes like an atomic fireball. Kinda hung up on that flavor right now. I don't know what nic. levels your getting but it helped me getting off analogs to go with 24 mg nic juice.

I have tried several different juices in the short amount of time I have beeing vaping and I could suggest a couple. What started as a way to quit smoking has turned into an all out hobby. I absolutely love the entire idea of it...but my wallet doesn't! I have spent a LOT of money trying several different PV's and juices. One of my first PV's was the Riva901 which is basically the same thing just a different connection. They were 750 mAh and I eventually got myself a 901-510 adapter so I could use 510 cartos and attys. It is certainly a great PV especially for someone who is just starting out. Good battery life and I have never had a problem with function. Riva is a PV you can pick up when you start and keep for a while. Since then I have "upgraded" but I still have my Riva901. I did purchase a couple eGos though and I have to admit, it looks nicer IMO. The button is real nice and it has an on/off feature...plus they work as a PT or 1000 mAh. Kind of odd looking though with a 510 Dual Coil Carto on it because it is kind of thin and long.

If you are going to do cartomizers, make sure you find out which ones you like before buying a bundle of them. You don't want to get stuck with a bunch of cartomizers you don't really like. The Riva is a 3.7v device so I would suggest LR cartos...1.5-2 ohm. The Boge are nice. You also need to determine how much liquid you want it to hold. There are regular, mega, xl...etc. Some hold more juice than others but are obviously larger. Dual Coil cartomizers are also available...I like them the most. On my 3.7v device I use the Smok Tech 1.5 ohm Dual Coil Mega Cartomizer in a Liquinator. It holds a LOT of juice and I rarely have to refill it. Just something to think about...a liquinator would probably look pretty goofy on a Riva or eGo though...

As far a juice goes, it is different for everyone. You may really enjoy something that someone else completely hates. Determine how much money you are willing to spend on your juice. Usually the "better" ones are more expensive but if you are going to be going through a lot of juice on a daily basis, you may want to get a cheaper alternative as an all day vape.

Vapor4Life.com - GREAT prices. $12.50 for 30ml bottle and they ALWAYS have sales going on. You can get these for around $10 for a 30ml. At that price you would assume the juice is horrible but honestly its not that bad. I started with V4L juice and sometimes still use their Wowboy or Kamel. For the price, you can't beat it. Their customer service is awesome and they have a variety of different flavors/strengths. Unfortunately, V4L seems to be out of juice for long periods of time. I am not entirely sure why, but some of their more popular flavors like Nuport are never in stock.

RAWR Vapor - Great customer service and AWESOME juice! This is my primary vendor. Dawn of Truth, Truth Serum, etc. High quality juice and you will not be disappointed. Be careful though...the juice is so good you will find yourself literally BLASTING through it.

Vaporescence and AvidVaper - I was sent a couple samples from these companies so I cannot say anything about the price as I don't know...but decent quality juice. AvidVaper has some decent RY4 and Vaporescence has a flavor called "Cuban Supremo" you might like. Has a little cherry in it.

Gourmet Vapor - I just got a package from them today but so far so good. The tobacco blends I got aren't so great though...they may have to sit for a while and "steep" or whatever. I purchased from them recently when they had a 50% sale going on so I figured what the hell? Can't beat that.

The biggest pointer I can give you is BROWSE THE FORUM! There is a ton of information posted here and more people willing to help than you can imagine. If you see an interesting topic, look into it. There might be some useful information for you there. I learned almost everything I know about vaping from ECF. WATCH SALES! There is a thread somewhere on ECF called "Deals and Steals". People post coupon codes and let everyone knowing what companies are having sales. Find one that interests you with a sale going on, use the coupon code and find a flavor you like!

Good luck with everything!

I got some fluval water polishing pads today and tried it out a boy ,what a difference . It clearly held more liquid in it and even better , the taste of the liquids really came out as well as taste more fresh . All a long that black cherry taste i was getting from cherry was due to the stock polyfill . Im actually liking a couple of the liquids i got more that i didnt like before expecially the spearmint and cappuccino . So far i have still been smoking anologs but cut down already by at least 1/3-1/2 the amout i was smoking before and its only been a little over a day . Best news is when i reach down i often am picking up the PV first and not just going straight to the analog .The fact that im inclined to use it means it better than anything else i tried before.Looks like i got another hobby too SMH lol .

When i get into somthing i really get in to it for some reason . Always been like that for me . Started out with baseball cards when i was a kit ,then bike (rode bmx for a long time) then cars (Got 2 custom cars and now own a car modding business) . NOw PV's i almost feel like a pro in 2 days lol (THanks to you guys/girls of course) . Btw LF cappachino is the vbomb now with the fluvals . Just had it with my coffee and mmmmn . DOnt know if it was solely the fluval or it steeped for a day but its good .Not as strong as when i first got it but more realistic flavor now with hints of butterscotch and caramel.

Btw why does it seem like my battery never dies .

I am going to explain a technique called "dripping".

(if your experience is anything like mine) as you use carts you will quickly realize they kind of suck. Empty a cart of the filling and drip 2-3 drops of e juice directly into the atomizer. Vape away. The flavor will drop off after about 5-6 draws and start to get a bad dry atty taste. Drip 2-3 more drops and repeat. In time you will know when to drip so it doesnt get dry. They make drip tips you can drip the liquid through so there is no taking off the cart. It fits into the atomizer in place of a cart.

This is somewhat of a pain at times, but in my opinion gives the best vape.

It's all up to your personal preference, just giving you an option

Thank you for explaining this technique! I've been wandering around the forum for about a week, and heard it mentioned several times, but wasn't sure exactly what it was until now.

A couple things to remember when just starting to vape.

1) Drink lots of water. You will dehydrate if you don't. Also it helps clear the pallet.

2) Brush your teeth and take showers more often. As your sense of smell returns you will be smelling what others have been.

The batts will run down faster when vaping replaces more of smoking, which seems like is happening. :)

Also check out the ECF Library. Dripping and other helpful items are covered there. :)
