newb question

i have a tank carto. after filling the tank, is it necessary to top off the carto? because i notice that when i do that.. it floods (gurgling sound) with 5 drops. thx!

With mine i always fill the carto first, blow out excess into a tissue, then install in tank and then fill tank.

It is not necessary to "top it off", in my opinion, but you do need to prime a new carto with about 30-40 SLOW drops of liquid. I failed to do that one time (I'm a newb myself) and boy, did THAT taste nastily burned! Couldn't get that taste outta my mouth for hours and never got the burned taste out of the carto, ended up pitching it.... Now, I prime it well, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then carefully start using it. That applies only to a NEW carto, refills shouldn't need priming unless you burned you tank dry. I refill my tank daily, whether it's empty or now, don't want to be away from my liquid bottles and run outta juice. Now, that would be a major disaster, LOL!

yeah, tooting an empty carto is an instant carto killer, ive gone through a few that way

I learned that the hard way, too....... YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! NASTY burnt taste that won't come out of the carto.......

Hello and welcome to ECF!!! What type of carto and how big are the holes/slots? Also depends on the type of tank. I just ordered the Arry4 and from watching one of the vids it can flood from putting the top onto the tank because it pushes juice into the carto.

i got the smoktech DCT .. holes were prepunched.. 3 holes on my ego T batt. i used to use the ego tanks, but these are waay better.. less headache and floods. currently waiting on my buzz pro.. but this is a good backup for me till my mod arrives.

I burnt a new carto after I thought I had primed it pretty well. I got advice to dry hit once after filling the tank. Of course being a noob that sounded like a bad idea to me until I was told what it meant: after filling the carto and tank and before you screw them onto the battery, put your finger over the bottom holes and take a puff from the business end. This starts the wicking from the tank through the carto holes. Three new cartos later (and three new tanks), and I haven't burnt another one yet. I haven't had to top of a carto since then and am using the original two in the original tanks for 17 days now with no problems.

I'm by no means an expert after 17 days of vaping, but this has worked for me so far.
