Newb questions

A few weeks ago I stumbled on the ecig (PV) thing. I was unaware of what all was available and ordered a blu starter and a bunch of cartos. After a few weeks use and not being able to kick the analogs entirely I have decided the blu is simply not providing enough nic for me to be satisfied.

So I stumbled onto the ecf fortunately and I have been doing a ton of reading and watching videos. I have settled on ordering a ProVari Mini with the 18490 batteries, charger, etc. I think I have some juices picked out based on things I have read and am close to placing a few orders to get everything I need to dive headlong into the PV world and hopefully kick the analog habit for good.

My questions are about tanks. I have plenty of money, and will only save in the long run with the switch, so in answering please don't consider money as a factor. I have seen favorable reviews on the Phiniac tanks and plan to pick up one of them to start, in sand blasted regular size. I believe from their site that I should order boge carts and plan to order a few different ohms to see what I end up preferring. I guess my question would be, do I want to order cartomizers or attys? I think I want cartos, but it doesn't make sense to me since the tank would hold the juice. I also saw a video about taking the cover or wrapper off of cartos, but I think I saw stainless cartos which would skip that step?

I live over seas, so I want to get everything I need ordered and shipped so I don't get most of the stuff and find out I bought one thing that is wrong and wait another 3-4 weeks to get using the new kit.

Sorry for the long first post, and thanks in advance for any help.

You need cartomizers, not attys. They come either pre-punched with a hole in them or you can punch them yourself. Since money is no object, go ahead and get a bunch of pre-punched cartomizers. Make sure they are the correct length. Some tanks need XL (extra long) cartomizers. The tank holds the juice and it seeps into the carto through the hole. That keeps the carto filled. If you use thick juice, you may have to enlarge the hole in the carto so it doesn't get dry.

Get stainless cartos if you can so you don't have to remove the covers, which is a PITA unless you have a bottle of Goof-off handy.

If you have money to burn, check out the "WhoseYourDaddy" tanks. I think they're the Rolls-Royce of tanks, but the price reflects it. They look fantastic with a Provari, as they are hand milled stainless steel with glass windows. Might as well go whole-hog, right?

Thanks for the info. Glad you mentioned punched, I saw those listed a few minutes ago and that would have been my next question.

Honestly the WhoseYourDaddy tanks are only a few bucks more than the Phiniac tanks. May boil down to which looks better. I like both, in the end I may have to own them both. I actually wondered about multiple tanks. Do many people keep more than one tank for different flavor juices? I was concerned that swapping flavors in a tank would leave residual flavor and not be the best plan. How do most vapers deal with that?

You can empty the tank, remove the carto, rinse the tank and put in a new carto for a new flavor.
Just keep the used carto separate and earmarked for the particular flavor that's in it.
Most people devote a tank to a flavor though.
Can't have too many tanks.

Make sure you get some atomizers and a drip tip.
You'll want to taste a new juice before you commit an entire carto to it.
Also get some regular un-punched cartos for those flavors you don't want to devote a whole tank to or that you don't have an extra tank for.

Thanks for the info sailorman. I went ahead and places some orders. I took your suggestion and ordered extra cartos (along with the whosyourdaddy) so I can have different cartos for different flavors. I will probably end up ordering more tanks in the near future. I also ordered a few extra attys and drip tips to test new flavors. I think I ordered about 6 flavors total to start with, things other people gave high ratings. Can't wait to get all this new kit in and shelve the analogs and probably the Blu as well. The blu does seem like it would be good for on flights since it is inconspicuous. Anyone tried vaping on a plane?

Damn Sailorman! You are truly the noobs best friend. I've learned quite a bit about the basics from your posts. Keep up the good work. It's appreciated!
