...and you guys said Blu was garbage....

I stumbled here about two months ago because my buddy was getting ready to order his first PV from Blu because the summer humidity was coming and smoking sucks outside. I read threads saying how bad Blu was, etc, but we ordered anyway. Well, flash forward to three weeks ago, and I placed an order from Blu and kicked the analog habit. After poor customer service, it's going back tomorrow. Oh well.

Here is the better part.

We learned of our mistakes, and decided to be big boys. He picked up a KR808 and some gear to go with it, and I being a sheep once again, did the same but also picked up some clearomizers. Ordered Friday from MVS.com, and have been a happy camper. I'm a gadget guy, and having battery life is great. Have those CE2 clearomizers are great. In two days I've used each battery with the factory charge and am still working on the first clearomizer I filled.

Just wanted to say thanks for the useful information on the site, and the analogs are kicked. I like not smelling anymore, and not to mention I feel excellent!

Welcome to ECF 98EXL! What a feeling eh? Though Blu will get knocked pretty hard by a lot of the veterans it does have a place - getting people like you to try it and realize there has to be better out there!

You said MVS so what kit did you get? I'm assuming one of the KR808 kits. Clearos look so damn neat .... I just finally placed an order for a pack of CE3 to replace the cartos I have been refilling. Can't wait to see how they perform next to the cartos. What juice are you vaping by the way? Are you doing some kind of tobacco like juice or hitting the flavors? I haven't had much luck so far with anything other than tobacco flavored juice so I'm curious what you started with.

This is a monumental step in to vaping so congratulations!

It's a great feeling! I knew vaping would rock from "other" experiences I've had in the past. And Blu had a place, except I should have stuck with what I always do, and stick to my Internet gut feeling and skipped Blu, but it got me off the chitty analogs.

I ordered the Peach Pineapple Blast and it is delicious!!!!! Said buddy from post one picked up some juice while in Fl with his brother and I have Blueberry, Blueberry Waffles, and Waffle flavor coming to me. He, his brother and I are all on the KR808's, so we can swap cartos. I've only been using the clearomizer the past two days, the portable pack and carts get a test drive tomorrow.

Oddly enough, the six carts I got with the starter kit were all "Marlboro" and I took one hit and almost threw up because it was a reminder of smoking....yuck. I hope I can drain them and fill them with something new because I have six perfect carts doing nothing.

Some people, like me, find a need for a something very close to an analog. Looks like you have made that leap already. Kudos! If you find a flavor you really like, I'd suggest getting a Volt CE3 Cartomizer and a filling it with the juice you like. They will fit your 808 threads nice and give you a good long vape with some much better flavor than you can get out of a carto.

Heck yeah!

I started out with Blu first, and learned AFTER I bought everything that I had made a mistake. Not that Blu is bad for everyone, but I am technologically inclined, like nice things and also like to fill my own cartos and Blue is not really any of those things. Ended up with the Volt X2 and a clearomizer and have been happy as heck ever since! I'm a mid-range nice kinda lady. Anyway, glad you also found something that works for you! Welcome to the addicting world o' vape! :)

Me too. Blu sucked me in with their disposable, which isn't bad. I bought the kit and it was nothing like their disposable. Plus it was expensive. The problem is the blu name is everywhere and when you start doing a search and see so many companies, we end up going with a name that we know. For me, the fact that it was the only big company that was sold in stores made me think it was great. I also got sucked into the whole "a carto equals a pack" message so i figured that if I used 1 1/2 cartos a day, I would save $7 a day. Problem was that I was using 2-3 and not feeling satisfied.

Seriously, my feeling is whatever makes you NOT buy another pack of cigarettes is a win.

Even if that means that you start out with something small and work your way up.

I have a ego and its just not doing it for me and I'm still smoking.
Makes me depressed.

My girlfriend just ordered me a mod (I think that's the word) that is 3.7 volts and should (hopefully) be here soon.

She's been vaping for over 2 months now without a slipup on the cigarettes and I'm jealous!

Keep it up, man!!

A mod is something that is variable voltage. You will notice a huge difference from your ego though, the ego is only 3.3v. A lot of ego users who try the kgo or volt x2 can't believe the difference. Kgo's and volt x2's shutoff when they get to 3.2v. By the time our battery gets to 3.3v, we are looking to charge it.

Keep it l though. Every time you vape I stead of picking up an a analog, you are helping yourself.

Congratulations on your perseverance! This Forum sets us all on the 'right' path... sometimes we choose the 'wrong' PV's.... but eventually we reach vaping Nirvana. I found mine with the GO-GO and premium tanks! ;)

Best of Luck & Vape on!!! :)

Have you considered the GO-GO eCig from CigEasy or NHaler? With the new Premium Clear tanks and 24 mg Mar bro mix Nic Juice I think you can finally get off those Analogs forever. It worked for my 2 pack a day Brother whose as hardcore as they come with the Analogs  ... He started with an eGo but it was when I turned him on to the Go-Go that he was finally successful. Best of Luck to you also my Friend :)

The Truth (all of it. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the REALLY ugly):

The Good:

I like to think that every member of this community takes every success story as a personal victory. We all think that it's awesome that you quit smoking, we'd never discourage that, but as soon as you're ready to move to the next level you may want to question your brand loyalty.

The Bad:

The reason ECF vets punk on Blu is because they were bought out by the big tobacco company, Lorillard. You may know them for their Newport, Maverick, Old Gold, Kent, True, Satin, and Max brand cigarettes. Big Tobacco's gotten enough of your money and killed enough of our loved ones in the name of profit, have they not? Since Lolliard bought out Blu their sales have decreased significantly as a result of ecig communities outting them for it.

The Ugly:

The other main reason for this apprehension with Blu is because when it comes to their pre-filled cartridges who knows what big tobacco will put in there to keep you coming back again and again? Natural and artificial flavors? That could be anything. They could put an ingredient in there as "flavoring" that makes you hooked, and then what? It's for flavor! Also it seriously bothers me that they say one cartridge equals one pack of cigarettes when there is almost no evidence to back that up. Scientists, doctors, and vapers are all still debating how much nicotine is actually absorbed through vaping.

The REALLY Ugly:

$12 for a 5 pack of cartridges + shipping isn't the worst price I've seen but DIY juice in a cartomizer or a tank will cost you around 20-40 cents a day to vape up. I could fill those cartridges up for around a dollar easy. Probably less since they advertise it as all VG juice and you can get a 7-8 month supply of that stuff for 3 bucks. It's safe to say that they probably hold a mg to 1.5mg and it's also safe to say that most of us vape more than that. I'm in the 3mg/day range personally and I only smoked a half a pack of 100's a day. You can get a 5 pack of boge cartomizers and throw it on an ego battery and reuse them for literally months for a total cost of around 11 dollars and that cost is after filling them with DIY juice. Then for an extra buck you can refill them again and again every time, cleaning them and reusing them for months. I have boges that are 4 months old and running strong. So for that reason, it's not economical to buy pre-filled cartridges.

Day 3 of my KR808.....

I've only recharged one battery, emptied one clearomizer and not even used a full cart. I'm very pleased with the results of the equipment thus far. I think I'll get a XL battery to keep at home with the clearomizers that I have, and run the regular batteries with carts on the go.

......now I need to figure out how to keep this physically all organized....

Again, thank you my new support group

Blu definitely gets knocked a ton around here, but it will ALWAYS be my go to device for when I'm going out at night. There just is no way I could ever carry my bolt into a bar. It's just not sleek enough and draws too much attention.

With that being said if I'm not going out to a bar or a club I will definitely always go to my bolt. It's a much better experience and does its job far better than my Blu ever could. My buddy on the other hand has tried a couple other PVs and you couldn't pry him away from his Blu with the jaws of life. He loves it and will never switch. Although I believe I did talk him into filling his own cartomizers from now on though.

The problem, if it is a problem, is that many people that contemplate quitting smoking want something that looks and reminds them of a cigarette. That really makes Blu and other comparable systems attractive. Shortly after buying them many, but not all, come to the realization that they aren't smokers anymore and don't want to be identified as such. It's not that Blu's suck, if they get you off the analogs they are the best thing you could possibly buy.

However, after three days I found I really didn't want to be identified as a smoker anymore. I didn't want someone mistaking me for a smoker. I just didn't want anything to do with it. It was a a transition that many go through...ashamed smoker to proud vaper. When I started I thought I wanted tobacco juices and bought a few large bottles. Then I discovered the options and realized I didn't need to be tied to tobacco taste anymore.

Fast forward 3.5 weeks... My carry around setup looks like it could be used for clubbing a seal(I wouldn't) and my vape smells like cantaloupe and peaches. Life is good, no one will ever mistake me for a smoker and that makes me happy.
