I have decided to try e-cigs. It just seems a little overwhelming, cartridges, chargers, juices, etc, etc.

Can some one tell me what the most versatile or "universal" kit should cost. Also I dont understand the cartridge thing, are they refillable with nicotine liquid? If someone can point me in the right direction and clean of some of the "fog" if you will, it would be very much appreciated. What is the right strength of liquid for a pack a day smoker? more questions where those came from. Many thanks.....

Welcome fanof511!

The best place to start is the ECF library. Read all parts of the Wonderful World of vaping, there is tons of great info in there.

And of course come back and ask questions. Lots of people to help you here. ;)

Hope this helps get you a little unconfused. :)

I recommend watching DoctorVapor's E-cig 101 class on YouTube (linky). Some of the information is dated, but it will help you get a handle on the lexicon.

My 510 kit (Riva 510 Starter Kit from Liberty-Flights.com) was less than $35 for 2 batteries, case, charger and 5 cartomizers (cartos). I've been very happy with it.

Cartridges (carts) and cartomizers (cartos) are both refillable, so you'll want to get some e-liquid. The ECF library and videos will help you decide which route to go.

ETA: If you order from liberty-flights.com, use the discount code "ecf" for 20% off.

Howdy and Welcome fellow Texan.... I started with the library a while back, it explains just about everything you need to know when getting started. There are deals and steals out there to be had with just a little research on your part. Check the vendors section out at the bottom of the forum, also the member's classified has some deals there as well.....

You can get a bigger batt kit for about $40- check the Deals and Steals thread for current sales. Nicotine is funny, some people need more to start, some less. Generally, starting with 18-24 mg will get you off the cigs but I'd advise getting samples in a few different strengths before investing to much in any one strength. Yes you can refill cartridges with liquid and save $$$. The ecf library will be a really good source for videos and instructions.
Welcome to vaping & good luck!
