Hello all..I'm new to this site/forum, and to vaping in general. I've smoked a pack of cigarettes in my life total, and getting into vaping more as a hobby / to blow clouds and do tricks to amuse myself you could say. I had literally no interest in smoking/vaping anything until recently. I happened to witness a twitch streamer blowing huge clouds and was shocked lol. So ofc I asked questions and started doing my research, ultimately opening my eyes to this whole community of vaping and people getting off cigarettes. I ended up deciding to get something for myself. I purchased a Nemesis Clone / Mutation X v.3 RDA / Ohm Meter / Nitecore Digital Battery Charger / 26g Kanthal / and some LG18650HE2 2500mAH Batteries ( none have come in the mail yet). I didn't want to start out with the small vape pens or starter kits. Being more of a hands-on kind of person I figured i'd prefer building the coils and what not. I've done a lot of research and plan on starting out at higher ohm levels to get a feel for what I like. On a side note the community seems pretty cool so far, haven't come across any toxic individuals. I plan on taking what I learn here and passing it on to individuals I know that smoke cigarettes still. :vapor: Btw how would you rate the setup I purchased? Thanks for the help and information.

Hello and welcome to the forum Wra7h. Glad to have you here!:)

+1. Everything looks great. You did your homework.

I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs for additional links on battery safety, Ohm's Law, amp draw, etc. Baditudes Blogs.

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Sound good, Im new to unregulated mods as well.
Have been using regulated box mods using Panasonic 10A batteries.
Now that Im fixing to run a new Nemesis with a 454 big block.
Dual coils, being new I got 24g wire argg. Though now looking to getting some 28g coil wire.
My new ohms meter came in today and my dual coils come out to 0.64.
10a doesnt work that good, just had to try it.
I ordered some Sony 30A and LG 35A batteries and theyle be here monday.
Sorry, just thinking out loud.
Look forward to seeing your post.
Im constantly learning here at these forums so I decided to reg.
Will be buying and trying everything.
I no longer smoke ciggs, been vapping a few months now & love it.

Hi there i was wondering if anyone could help, i tried to post on the itaste vv thread but it wouldn't let me as I've just signed up. Any way I purchased an innokin itaste vv 3 weeks ago and have been getting on great with it, however, since yesterday it wont let me change the volts, now it only lets me change the watts. whether i press the plus or minus and the power button it only lets me change the watts e.g P8.0 not U4.0. this is really annoying as the voltage setting its on, is a little high and tastes burnt. A friend of mine who i bought the exact same itaste for is still able to change the voltage and as i previously said it was only yesterday when it stopped letting me change the volts. any help and suggestions would be great, many thanks.

Smoked a pack of cigs total in your life? Getting into vaping for a hobby? Tell you what, if I had even a morsel of influence in your life I would be in your grille screaming my head off at you calling you every name I could think of. Let me leave it at this...I think your decision to vape is as stupid a choice as anyone could make. :2c:

Yea i'm also going to be picking up some 28g wire.
Gonna try and do a bunch of different setups to test them out.
Although I did my research , I don't know exactly how the vape will be to me (taste / feel).
Seeing as it will be my first time literally.
I also wanted to get those sony batteries, but apparently there's alot of fakes going around.
What was your first experience like?

Hey Bronze, I appreciate you giving your opinion. Unfortunately, I don't see it the same way as you.

to ecf Wra7h. Nice to meet you and so glad you are here. I love vaping and I would never judge anyone for their choices mainly because no one has the right to. . That being said, if you are not addicted to nic, I hope you will be using 0 nic juice. No sense added if you haven't got to. I need it myself and a lot of it. I enjoy vaping and I don't see why someone who doesn't smoke can't either. There are some really cool tricks on YouTube and I have to admit I have practiced in front of the bathroom mirror to learn a couple.

I have never used the Nemesis but I see lots of posts where people love them. Now I know first hand the Nitecore chargers are very good. I have two. One that has the display and one that does not. You can't go wrong there.

Good luck to you and happy vaping. Make yourself at home and don't forget to post your cool tricks, I'd love to see them.

Not sure what you are looking for but I have been very pleased with these batteries as well as the vendor. Super fast shipping.

I believe it is a really bad idea to vape to blow cloudz and do tricks, especially since all you have damaged your lungs with is 1 pack of ciggies... your lungs are still pretty much pristine as far as smoking goes... no need to trash them just for entertainment purposes.... the jury is still out on how much long term damage can occur from vaping ( even 0 nic juice)

and when you do get your stuff, go to a B&M and have someone show you in person how to make a coil and explain how its made.... hopefully this is going to be a passing fad and you will loose interest in it after a while....

and look for the warning signs of coughing/choking.... its your bodys way of saying this isnt right...

Rat, it has nothing to do with rights and it has nothing to do with judging. It has everything to do with trying to spare someone of a life-long habit that is nothing less than destructive. I wish when I had first started smoking someone would have picked me up and shook some sense into me. How nice it would have been to spend the $80,000 on something else other than the half million cigarettes that stole my health because I was stupid enough to take on a total unnecessary habit. I'm all for vaping for those as helplessly lost as I was. But I will not partake in the advancement of someone who wants to take up vaping as a hobby. My conscious wont allow it. And while I believe vaping to be much safer than smoking, it is not settled that vaping is harmless. At the very least, people are taught the hand to mouth habit that vaping still teaches. And that habit has as much to do with addiction than the chemicals we pumped into our bodies. The same habit we're taught with cigarettes. Not such a large leap anymore is it?

To each their own.

I agree with you on many points. I am just as compassionate as you and like you, wish some one would have "shook" me also. But it was ultimately our own choices. The wrong choice I concur. Wra7h has the same right to make that decision. He is not going into this blind. He has done research and has the desire to vape. If the question here had been that he was considering vaping for either enjoyment or tricks, I more than likely would have told him to think twice about it in a very kind manner. I would never wish upon anyone what killed my mother and has had such a strong hold on me for most of my life. But the poster has made an informed decision and purchased vaping equipment. Therefore, no one should judge or ridicule. It does come down to that in my mind. I am only here to make people feel like they are welcome and to give them the best information I know to help them and to ensure that they vape safely. That is what ecf is all about. Learning and helping others.

I fully understand that he does not have an addiction to nicotine. That is why I suggested 0 nic juices. You make it sound as if someone that is not addicted to nicotine should not vape. What about all the people that smoked and began vaping. The ones who have decreased their dependency on nicotine. I also understand that the safety of electronic cigarettes is still undetermined. But I would never tell someone who vapes 0 nic that they should stop vaping all together because of the dangers unknown about vaping. The bottom line is we must all follow our own path be it right or wrong. I feel very strong about the rights of people in an age where our rights are being slowly taken away.

Every chance I get, I try to pass on my knowledge that I have learned from life's experiences to my own son who smokes and will not try vaping. He is the center of my universe and I still stand firm that it is his decision as I do with the poster of this thread to whom I do care about also.

I do honestly respect your opinion and also agree. . . to each his own.

OP seems like a nice guy, but, saying you dont smoke to a bunch of vapers who wish they had never smoked is gonna ruffle some feathers. Good luck with your new rig. Make sure you get a good understanding of coils and do research on reviews of products. No point buying a bunch of crap youll just need to replace.

Those helped me. It seems like you've done some research though.
