After a few weeks of vaping, I've come to see the light. I started the vape to stop the tobacco and it has worked to that end. Up to now, the vaping has been strictly low end products. I had bought Wal*Mart's Mistic's which, I've actually come to like. And looking to upgrade from this point. I have small list of demands for this new venture. Hoping the experts here can help a newb out.

1- Want to keep it simple. I like not being conspicuous which, is part of the reason I've like the Mistic's; they look so much like regular cigarettes. So on this next phase I'd like to keep that going. An e-cig that resembles a normal cig.

2- Although the Mistic's have worked, it's easy to see I'm blowing money away (almost literally). To be cost efficient, I'd like a system that is reusable. Must have refillable cartomizers.

3- I've seen some pretty elaborate and expensive systems, not trying to do all that. Would like to keep this project at around $50 or less if possible (including everything except for the liquid refills).

Can you help a fellow vaporer out? :toast:

If you must have a cigalike (against my advice), I recommend Smokeless Image Volt e-cigs. It's what I started out with. Reputable company with quality gear and fast customer service. Popular starter setups often recommended by ECF members. Approved ECF vendor.

All the gear sold by Smokeless Image is intercompatible with each other: batteries and juice attachments. These use an 808-thread connector, so the more common 510-threads of other companies will not be compatible unless you use an appropriate thread adaptor. They also offer a large number of flavors made by two separate e-liquid manufacturers.

Be aware that cigalike batteries will only last 2 - 4 hours per charge, so get enough spare batteries to last out your day until you can get home to recharge them all. They also offer the larger X2 batteries (ego-type batteries) which will last 6 - 13 hours depending upon the mah rating.

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
and sticking with baditudes advice here is an easily refillable clearo that fits the 808 volt (and the mistic but with a small gap that can be corrected with a small oring available at any good hardware store)

Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

not rebuildable - holds about .9 ml -

fluid level is easy to see - bottom coil and reasonably priced

Positive video review:

I do not use cigalikes, and would strongly advise against relying on them to quit smoking, but among cigalikes the Smokeless Image Volt looks like the best option to me.

My #1 recommendation for a relatively small but generally satisfying starter kit is this: 2 Kanger Mini Protanks with 2 variable voltage batteries, charger, and some replacement coil heads. I have better equipment and still use these as backups and as compact out-and-about setups, because they're still great.

Wow, amazing!!!

That's how much of a newb I am . . . I'm realizing. I can get parts and build it from scratch.

Was browsing Smokeless Image website and was trying to put a custom ecig for my needs. I'm thinking a standard VOLT battery, a clearomizer. And then put a cig imitation wrapper around it all and voila!!!

NOW, DO ALL CLEAROMIZERS ON THIS WEBSITE FIT THE THE STANDARD END LIGHTING BATTERY?

I just need gallons of really tasty juice and ill be happy...and some more tanks.....and a pony..and doughnuts...

No, only the Mini and Nano clearomizers fit on the standard batteries.

The problem you will have with only getting one battery is what will you do when your battery is charging? You need at least 2 batteries. Fear not, for I have the solution.... get a standard starter kit and use the coupon code "VOLTSAVE" for 16% off. :) Shipping is free on starter kits. Add 4 clearos and you are still under $50 shipped.

Then, go in this thread here on ECF (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-your-freebie-faces-volt-smokeless-image.html), post a pic, and get a THIRD battery free of charge.

Yes, that's true. You don't have to go with a "starter's kit", but put together what you need individually.

One battery, even two will not be enough to last the day. Recall that I said these batteries will only last 2 - 4 hours of intermittant use each. I had four of the 78mm Volt batteries which barely lasted me during the day. When I got home I used one of the 1300 mAh X2 batteries while the smaller Volts were charging during the evening.

I would say skip the cigalikes, for the sole reason that the batteries die so fast and leave you stranded - especially since you've already been vaping a while - you're simply going to want a battery that keeps up. I used the volts momentarily and found them to be too short-lived practically right away.

+1 on the recommendation of 510 batteries and protanks/evods. Two rigs is enough, if you get them through fasttech or a cheap online vendor you can get going for right at the $50 mark.

Thanks again, you guys are amazing. Just wow!

So I have tallied presently:

2 78 batteries, 3 clearomizers (nanos and minis in different colors), 2 chargers, 2 color gem tips (just for variety), a carrying case. Include SpaceBallRules code for 16% off and I have coming to my door for $53.63. Everything I need, plus everything I wanted. AND ALL THE TARGET PRICE!!! Now, I just need to ad $5 for their Midnight Express tobacco liquid and I'm good to vape.

I appreciate everybody's help, couldn't have done it without you. Thanks a gajillion!:party:

Now, I just gotta get my ugly pic sent to the forum and I'll have a 3rd battery!!! Woo-hooo!

Hey there Senor,
The Walmart cig-a-likes are working for you?
They did for me at the start.....but I quickly found the cig-a-likes to be lacking.

You can refill the cartos that come with them.

That is where I started.
(Will not be my first recommendation, due to the constant hands on aspect......)

Still have my Mistic starter kits in the glove box of the car.
I keep the batteries charged, and cartos filled,
they are my back up to my back up.

Then came the 510 cig-a-likes...... same issues....
Found out in a couple of weeks that I spent almost as much time charging/refilling them as using them.

Made the step up to the eGo battery/tanks, and have not regretted it.....

Attempting to make your PV look exactly like a cigarette is likely to get you strange looks if you vape anywhere smoking isn't allowed. Keep that in mind. There is a benefit to an e-cig looking nothing like a cigarette.
