I smoked 1/2 pack a day and found that 12mg was too high for me-- I went to 6mg immediately. Other folks who smoked a similar amount, however, needed harder stuff: 12 to 18mg. I would recommend trying both 12 and 6 (and/or mixing two strengths of the same flavor). Use more when you need it and less when you don't. You'll find your spot.
