ambition - i gotta disagree with you on looking like a 'right tool' vaping something like a kgo or ego. Is the point of having an e cig to fool people into believing it's a normal cigarette ? Why would that be important ? Does it matter, that much, what other people think ?
Do you really think vaping a lookalikey cig looks cool ?

I am not discouraging anyone from having a lookalikey as their vape. I am however encouraging someone not to close their mind to better e cigs.

There are some excellent coffee flavours out there. But you gotta find one thats right for you. One mans flavour is another mans poison....and i would never presume to know what would be good for someone else.

That's ok.

Just thinking about it from the social smokers perspective. ie: wants to smoke and maybe wants to be seen smoking.

Quite different from the 20 year 2+ p.a.d veteran.

And yeah, the looking like a tool thing comes from experience.
I had an ego 650 which didn't feel right when used in social situations. Got plenty of unwanted attention.

I can make myself look like a tool in other ways too, but that's off topic.

And yes, I think vaping a lookalikey ecig looks cool in much the same way that puffing on a fatbatt or a box does not. I prefer a blue light though. Thanks for asking. :)

Better ecigs is a subjective term btw

Hi guys,

I don´t know if you are at all listening to a guy who is brand new - today is my first day without tobacco.
But I did some research before...the two determining factors for me were amount of vapor and size/look of ecig.
The big things quickly became out of proportion to me - I felt really ridiculous. I am a person who cares of style, therefore these big devices are unconceivable for me.
Greensmoke I did not like due to the green light - this is hypocritical for me - smoking, also vaping is not green!
blu I tested and I was not satisfied with the vapor.
Now I have identified a new product with cool design and very big vapor production
So far - but it´s only half a day - I am very happy. very good vapor. cool design

I totally understand what you mean and I'm happy for you that you've found something that you like.

Sure, as you go on your preferences and desires may change, but as long as you're comfortable using your device, that's the most important thing when starting out. Cheers.

Hello! (last paragraph sums everthing up pretty good if you dont like reading..) Ive been smoking Newports for almost a year now, and am looking to switch over to a quality 2 piece E-cig. ive tried the insanly expensive Cirrus at the mall, and though it was ok, it really took a lot of effort to draw even with their so called "smooth draw" hoopla. Well I got a budget of around 60, and was looking at Green Smoke's Express kit and feeling pretty good about buying it with this so called FlavorMax carts, but have heard among others that its like "trying to suck a thick milkshake from a straw", and that is the opposite of what i want from my E-cig. I was attracted to the design of the standard Green Smoke cig, as im a social smoker who goes through a pack about every 4-5 days and have been that way for a few months now.

Im basically looking for something that is around 60-70, is a look-alike cigarette clone (debating if i want a different colored LED though other then orange/red), will give me about 2 packs worth of cigs per cart, has a easy flowing draw, is a 2 piece design where atomizer and cart are one, and some nice flavors would be nice as long as i can find at least one i like. I dont really need the battery to be top of the line, as id probably be able to charge it over night at least every other night and im in the car alot where most smoking takes place. like i said i probaby go though 10 analog bogies on the worst days as a refrence but it is fair to say i may consume more with the e cig since i can do it anywhere.

Green Smoke, V2, and Blu cig have tickled my fancy, but im quite wary of this first purchace... If you've used any or all of these brands (green smoke, v2, cirrus, blu) OR a different brand you think matches my needs the best (easy to draw, 2 packs per cart, standard cig clone, 2 piece design, 50-70 bucks, chocolate or coffee flavor sounds interesting...) any help would be much appriciated! i make a cig last average 3-4 min just timed my self if thats helpful lol. thanks again :)
You're in MD. We have regular monthly meets in the area. Why not come out, check out some vape gear, and test out some different juices? The next vape meet is in York, PA on March 10, then another likely in Fairfax, VA on Mar 24.

I started with the Vapor4Life ultimate ultimatum kit. Vapor King Ultimate Ultimatum Starter Kit - Our best-selling.... I got it at 40% off, since they run crazy deals all the time. For me, it was the feel of the cig-clone that I thought i was looking for. Soon after (3 days) I went back to the store and bought a Titan kit, since the wife decided she wanted half of the original kit, and picked up a tank too. I've been thoroughly pleased with the kits so far. Also, I've only experimented with their carts and juices, but I'm going to branch out as soon as I need more carts/juice.

I JUST DID THE SAME THING YOU'RE TRYING TO DO!!!

I did (what I thought was) a lot of research. Checked forums, watched youtube videos, did countless Google searches, etc... Here's my experience so far, and hopefully it helps:

8 days ago, I bought the original BLU starter kit from Walgreens for $49.99. I smoked almost 2 packs/day (Marlboro Reds) for almost 10 years. I quit the real things (analogs) cold-turkey and used my BLU to fight through the initial cravings. I can honestly say that they did exactly what I thought they would. They didn't completely replace or satisfy my craving, but they took the "edge" off and made them tolerable. The flavors that BLU offer are ok at best, and neither the batteries nor the cartomizers last as long as they claim. Overall, I guess I can tell you that the look-a-likes work, but they end up being a waste of money, in my opinion, and here's why:

It's only been 8 days, and I already ordered a new kit to replace my BLU. I'm going through the refills WAY too quickly and spending way too much money.

Now that I've done sime real research, I would advise you to skip the look-a-likes. Sure, they may be smaller and resemble an analog size, but those are the ONLY upsides (unless you count their availability in local stores a bonus, but online shopping is fine with me, so I don't count that one lol).

So here's what I would suggest. Get a KGO. The battery will last you much longer, the ejuice possibilities are literally limitless (since there are soooo many different suppliers), and you can complete customize your vaping experience to suit your needs/desires. You can try cartomizers (similar to the BLU refills you would buy, except refillable.with your favorite juice), you could try tanks, or you could simply get an atomizer and drip the liquid manually. Add a nice drip-tip and away you go!! It can also be very comparably prices to the BLU-type kit, if you know where to buy.

This site came highly referred to me, and after my great experience with them, I would love to pass it on to you. darkcityvapor.com

I just bought a full KGO starter kit, 2 different types of refillable cartomizers (because I wanted to try both single and dual coil), a low resistance atomizer (to try the drip method), a couple drip tips, and 6 bottles of ejuice, in some pretty awesome flavors. Added priority shipping (even though they offer free standard shipping) and STILL didn't break $100!!!!

Look, I don't work for anyone and I'm not trying to persuade you to use that particular site. Use anyone you like with a good rating. I'm only trying to help you not make the same $50.00 mistake that I did when I bought my BLU kit. It will work, but you will very quickly realize that you want a better experience and then buy a while new kit with a REAL personal vaporizer.

I sincerely hope this helps you!!!

There is so much info here on the forum it can be overwhelming. i chose to keep it simple, and being a newbie myself wanted to start slow and keep it very simple. 2-piece was the way to go for me too.

i think V2 is a good choice, and their coffee cartos are my favorite so far (I have experimented a lot in my short 2 weeks). I like my Bull Smoke the best, and they have a coffee flavor too.

And Welcome to ECF!

Hi,

This is my first post so be gentle with me. Recently got a TECC Super which basically looks like a cigarette, but isn't really doing anything for me. Have looked about on here and have sort of decided maybe I need a SLB KGO. I'm thinking of ordering the starter kit from darkcityvapor.com. It includes:
"Our KGO starter by SLB comes with 2 complete E-Cigarette and includes:
2x 1100mAh Batteries - Choose Color
5x Matching Cartomizers...Also have options to add other cartomizers at reduced price !
2x Matching Cones
1x USB Charger
1X Drip Tip
1x USB Wall Adapter"

I'm looking for a better throat hit and possibly more vapor, so do you think the KGO will suit me. Also, is there anything else I should buy along with the starter kit, like juice for instance. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I think you picked a great kit. I would suggest buying a couple 5 packs of cartomizers. They throw in a 5ml bottle of ejuice for free with each 5 pk. You'll see it after you "add to cart" and get to pick your flavor. I got a couple of lr 306 atomizers also because I wanna try dripping

Thank you so much you guys, I really appriciate all the info and time you took to help me:) I've read through everthing to this point, and will probably go through it 2-3 times more tonight and look out for more posts. I plan on making a decision any day now, I'll let yall know what happens!

Happy shopping!!

Well guys, I ended up ordering the Volt Pro kit, with some mouth tips, 1.8 nic, the smooth flavor sampler, and 5 blanks. (just clicked conferm order 10 min ago) ill be experimenting with e liquid soon, probably try the Halo e liquid (made in america!!)

I was thinking about getting the G6 because i drive a Blue Pontiac G6 coupe (i already have a song after it, why not a e cig lol) and because it had 3.7 volts as to Volts 3.6, but i read somewhere here thay are the same thing. somehow. HOWEVER i got the volt because

A. many told me its awesome. B. it was $80 after options (see below) but $68 with a 15%discount code! for:

2 auto batteries(got one 65mm with orange tip for covert operations and a black 78mm with blue tip kus its cool and i said so)
a sample 5 carto pack,
5 blanks,
a PCC (the smaller version one),
some multi color end caps,
comfort tips,
and 5 "classic cig filter" carto wraps for my white 65mm when on covert missions as previously stated.
and now that i think about it i should have gotten a wall and/or car charger.. but oh well next paycheck.

the G6, purchaced with similer options, would have been around $100 with out shipping.. Volts shipping was free. . id have had to add the PCC for another $30 on top of the $55 starter kit. also i couldnt specifiy the length and tip color of the batteries.. i could with the volt.

a special shout out to clovehunter for the product links, that was crucial, and also to my marsupial friend from down under, Ambition for your insite and relative information to my needs :) maybe ill see you when I take a study abroad trip to Australia in the future; always wanted to see the place about and learn the accent..
Thank you all once again, and watch out for the Jellies, weathers getting warmer ;)

Congrats on your new kit, hope you'll love it and make you stay away from analog ;)

Anyway, you might want to stock up juice or pre-filled carto (whatever your preference is). 5 cartos will go quickly when you are a first time vaper :D

Thank you for the shout out, I was in your position before and went through a lot of reading & research, so why not share my finding.

Good luck and happy vaping!

ohsleeper333 - Congratulations on your first kit! And you decided to go with what's right for you, and best bang for your buck!

I do own the Halo G6, it was my first kit to start me into the Awesome world of Vaping. I still use it to this day, mostly at work, even though I bought an eGo-T and a kGo. I did buy the Midnight Blue G6 (I love the Blue colors, they go great with black or silver :p ), one Manual, and one Auto battery (both 78mm in lenght) came with the kit, also 2 blank carto's, and a 5 pack of prefilled (my choice of flavor) cartos, and a Wall and USB charger.

Also, Halo does have some awesome juices! :) I've got 3 left to get to try! But also don't miss out on a lot of other great places to get some Excellent juices as well! So far the only "bad" thing about vaping I have come across is, there are soooooo many choices of flavors I don't know which ones I like the best! :D

We each buy what suits us, for you, you wanted something that looked like an analog and performed very well, for me, I wanted something 'different' looking, because we are able to 'vape" in the break room at work, and with mine being different in looks, no one really questions that I am "smoking", plus the blue light kinda gives it away too lol.

But in the end of it all, we buy what we must feel is our best choice to suit our needs, be it, looks, vapor, TH, or what ever, as long as it keeps us from analogs in the long run is the main point!

I wish you well in your new adventure of Vaping, and Welcome to the ECF!

Sounds like you grabbed a good bit o kit at a good price. When I started I got pretty much the same thing for the same reasons.

No worries, hit me up if you come down under. As for the accent, getusedtostringingallyourwordstogetherlikethiswhilenotmovingyourmouthwhenyouspeakanddoitallreallyreallyfast. :D

Ordered SLB KGO starter kit from darkcityvapor.com about 2 weeks ago, and still waiting. DCV shipped package immediately, so this is not a complaint about them, but my stuff seems to have been stuck in Miami for 10 days now, according to tracking info:
March 10, 2012
11:21 am
MIAMI, FL 33112
Processed through USPS Sort Facility

Is it normal for packages to take so long to travel from USA to UK? Have ordered other items from across the pond and don't remember it ever taking this long. If anyone has had a similar experience or any info I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think the package is likely not actually in Miami - unlike UPS and FedEx, the US Postal Services doesn't always update the package status at each stop. In most cases, their packages show arrival at the first sort facility, then vanish from the radar until they're actually delivered. While 10 days seems a bit long, I don't think I'd be worried quite yet.
