first of all thank you ECF with your forum me and my fiance are on our way to being analog free currently we have not had one for 72hours straight as of today around 9:30

after research here we decided to go with a dse 901 kit we picked up from vapor kings

second and to my question
we are coughing like F'in crazy and feel dehidrated as hell since we started vaping

i understand it may not be because of the vaping but, instead it could be the analog cancer perging itself, but is this a side affect of PG?? (ie allergic reaction)

i have done a bit of research into PG and i have found that it is relitivly safe other then if the user has a allergen, but i cant find what the symptoms may be

any feedback is appreciated

thank you!

It could be a slight PG allergy, but most likely not. If you are vaping constantly (which is the norm when first starting), you could just be dehydrating. PG is called something I forget, but it pull moisture away from your membranes. I rule of thumb I have been following is after every 3-4 minute vape session(constant vaping not just puffing) chug a glass of water/ 8oz. Seems to do the trick.

Congrats and welcome to ECF!

I am in the same boat as you.. not coughing quite as much as you, but I am chalking it up to the crap built up in my lungs from analogs.. I know it's happened to me before while quitting (not using my PV) I have read tons though about people needing to drink LOTS of water with PG.. but they will correct me if I am wrong..

Congrats again!

Welcome to the ECF and Congrats on not smoking !
It is very common for people to have dry throat, cotton mouth when starting out. Drink LOTS of water. Especially if you are vaping your pv like a pacifier. I know I did in the beginning and still do when I get a new one. ;-) When I started I thought I was getting laryngitis. I was coughing and lost my voice at times momentarily. It went away after about a week.

If you notice that you have to vape constantly and are past the new toy phase, consider trying a higher mg juice. You can always cut it down if it is too high.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on you decisions to quit smoking.

When I started vaping, the same thing happened to me, I coughed for about 3 weeks and as suddenly as it came, the coughing stopped.

As I was told when it happened to me, it is your lungs beginning to purge the crap within them from the analogs that you used to smoke. Are you coughing up phlegm or are you just coughing? If it is phlegm, what color?

Vaping causes your mucus membranes to become dry so whenever you vape, you will always have dry mouth. Always a good idea to have some liquid refreshment around when you vape or some gum or candy.

Good luck and keep on vaping!

thank you for all the congrats and help
looks like we will try to keep hydrated more

also because its utah it is quite dry here so im picking up a humidifier that may help some

im coughing up phlegm it started out a nice yellowy brown (nice i know) now it is becoming not as thick and a little more clear i have a spout every 45-60 min

my girl is just straight coughing (alot every 5-10 min) that is what kinda has me worried
we may give it another day and go to a doctor
unfortunately she has a severe family history of non hodgkin's lymphoma her mother had stage 4 and never had a cigarrette in her life and she has been smoking from the ripe old age of 14

we were desperate to quit but everytime we tried we just reverted and started smoking more :(

i will testify again and again how much i love vaping now

thank you all for your feedback

Regarding yourself, sounds to me that it is your lungs ejecting the accumulated cig crap in them. Every now and then I still cough up some phlegm but it is now clear in color, I was a smoker for almost 30 years so I guess I can expect that.

Regarding your girlfriend, make sure that she has enough to drink while she is vaping and I completely understand your concern for her considering her family history.

Like I mentioned, I coughed for 3 weeks until it stopped, but a Dr's visit for your girl certainly could not hurt anything and if it helps to ease both your minds, then by all means do it.

You are a good man Charlie Brown and it sounds like your girl made the right choice when she picked you as a bo.

so we tried different things over the weekend to try to help my girl stop coughing so much

she has been drinking at least 2-3L of water each day

we found that different flavors affect her more then others
pinapple and kamel seem to be the worst
but menthol, chocolate, and marlboro doesnt seem to affect her at all

but also just as a whim we bought some benadryl and the coughing stopped

we think she is mildly allergic to either the flavoring of certain ones or the PG

we want to try some VG e-liquids, any suggestions to where to get some, the only ones i have found are still 90% PG and 10%VG

thank you for all your positive comments and help
