Should I freeze the bottle without opening it (and thus letting air hit it) or would it be better to dilute it with PG/VG to the strength I will vape and put it in smaller bottles and then freeze it?

Is nic base like food in that it shouldn´t be re frozen or is it no big deal to to re freeze a number of times?

I ordered a few bottles yesterday and will order a few more this week. I have only been vaping for a little over 2 months but I haven´t had even one cig in those 2 months. That is after smoking for 40 years (2 and half packs a day at the end). It works for me.

I have become use to vaping unflavored 50/50 18mg nic, sometimes adding a bottle of my favorite favor to a bigger bottle of unflavored.

I don´t know what will happen in the near future but I wish to be ready. Even with stocking up I am far ahead financially from giving up the cigs.

I feel under the gun as a new person to vaping but what can you do.

I froze mine at 100 mg/ml.
But mostly, it's in 250 ml bottles, not liters - that way I can take one out of the freezer, and use it for the next 8-9 months or so. Or maybe I'll pour out half and refreeze - we'll see.

I don't think it's particularly harmful to take it in and out - but remember, when cold, it will be THICK and more difficult to measure.

I wouldn't dilute it to freeze - for one thing, you very well may change the strength you like.
It is VERY VERY common to move towards "airier" draw, and lower resistance coils, and getting a good vape with less nicotine. Plus, frankly, it's really easy to reduce your nic when you mix your own strength - you can just lower from 18 to 16 to 14...slowly over time. It'll last longer, and "why not?".

You want to minimize how many times you have to open bottles of your nic base, to avoid as much exposure to the air as you can. What many people do is divide each Liter up into 120mL bottles (4oz. size), or 240mL bottles (8oz. size).

If you use the 120mL (4oz.) bottles, you'd need 9 for each Liter, leaving a little headspace in each one. Your 9th one would only have about 44mL in it though, so leave that one out of the freezer for your "working" bottle to use up first when making your eliquids. Or, put it in an even smaller bottle so there'd be less air in it.

You'd also then need probably (4) 30mL (1oz.) bottles to break down 1 of the 4oz. bottles when you need to open 1 of them to use some of it. (I'd go that route especially if it would take you awhile to use up the whole 120mL size bottle.) Leave 1 of the 30mL (1oz.) ones out of the freezer to use, leaving 3 of them in the freezer. Those will also then be reused as you need to break down another 120mL size bottle.

If you break the L down into the 240mL (8oz.) bottles, you'd need (4) of them for each liter, again leaving alittle headspace in each one. You'd have about 48mL left, to put in a smaller bottle and leave out of the freezer as your "working" bottle.

Again, then, as above...you'll need some 30mL (1oz.) bottles to break up 1 of the 240mL (8oz.) bottles when you need some from the freezer. Get 8 of the 30mL (1oz.) bottles to do that. Keep 1 out for use, and pop the other 7 back in the freezer for use later. Those again, will also be reused when you need to break down another 8oz. botte.

I hope all of that made sense. I went with the 8oz. bottles method myself for 3L of my nic. It took up a lot less room in my freezer, and required purchasing less bottles in the longrun.

Oh, and I also wouldn't recommend mixing your Nic, PG, and VG ahead of time...for some of the same reasons already mentioned above.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain all that. I will have to read it a few times o_O for it to make since. I just wish I had more time to learn all this. Thanks again.

@Dan40 - LOL! Yeah, I tried to figure out how to explain it the easiest. Guess it didn't work. :)

When someone first explained rebottling Nic to me, and using the 120mL bottles...I made a simple, crude, little drawing on paper. Must be the retired teacher in me that's used to visuals:

I drew a 1L (1000mL) bottle at the top.
Then the 9 smaller 120mL (4oz.) bottles under it.
I penciled in 8 of those 9 - meaning full.
The 9th I penciled in 1/3 of the way up - 44mL

To show splitting up 1 of the 4oz. bottles:
Out beside 1 of the 8 full ones...I drew 4 smaller 30mL (1oz.) bottles, and penciled them in - indicating full.

Was easy for me to see then how it worked. Could do the same type of sketch to see how the 240mL (8oz.) bottles would break down, too.

When I tried explaining breaking down a L of Nic to a local vaping friend by phone, he didn't get it at all. He got it right away though, when I suggested he make a little sketch like above. Everyone learns things different ways and at different speeds...including me. I don't think anyone learned it all very quickly. I'm still learning more about DIY, etc. all the time. :D
