Newbie Advice: Go 510, do not go Colibri

Hey everyone!!! I am newbie, to this forum, and to vaping, I wanted to share my experience so far. As a former smoker; like most of us, I was trying to find a really good product. I found a product called the Colibri- its a 40 thread; so its not industry standard- Something I do not know at the time. The product arrived, and so did the carts. I use to smoke Export A and Craven Menthol.


I found the total experience, good; but I did not have any throat kick; and did not feel satisfied, while I loved the idea; and was reading allot on vaping everyone was really happy with it; but I was not. I found it was doing not doing at all with the Colibri E Cig. I tried 24 ml Craven M, and Export A; nice taste but that was bout it. So I started doing some research.


I contacted Evapers.com; and asked why this was not working at all for me. They stated that because I am using a non industry battery; and thread; and the battery is low powered; so you cannot expect much at all. So I thought I would try one more time. I went to Evapers.com - Your e-cigarette and vapor source and they were totally understanding of mys intuition and provided me with way better E CIGS. I ordered the Joyce 510, with LR. It arrived today; after two days, and I was beyond stunned. Since the Colibri uses carts; you will never ever get that kick throat. You get that when you place a drop on the atomizers.. I just about fell of my chair. The issue for me is carts suck.


Now I know what people are talking about. The vapour is like smoking; its full, it warm, and my 24 Craven M is now to strong! Now I get it folks...... SO I wanted to say to evapers.com: You guys rock. You answered so many random question from a newbie, provided me with some kick ... products; even though I was so nervous on spending more cash again. Totally worth it. Advise to newbies:

Only go with industry standard models. like the 510 and others. You can customize, from tanks, to carts, to cartridges, etc. If you buy something like Colibri, you are stuck with that and that only. Nothing else will fit or work. And your battery will not produce anything like a 510. I recommend the following:


Joyce 510, E Liquid from Evapers, and I tried E Juice from Juicy; again fantastic service; I want to say to everyone I reached out to; without the help; without the youtube how to videos, I don't know what I would have done. I almost gave up; but now I have the right equipment for the job, and now Its just like smoking! So that is my newbie advice for all.......

Welcome and congratulations on not giving up when you got a bad e-cig. Unfortunately, many people give up and think they've given e-cigs a fair trial when they get a bad kit like that. I started with a Joye 510 before cartomizers were common and most people were using carts. It worked, but the difference between carts and cartomizers is amazing.

Soon, you will get tired of swapping batteries all the time and you'll look for a bigger battery. We all did it. When you get your bigger battery, you will again say, "Wow! Now I know what people are talking about." Meanwhile, enjoy your step up to decent vaping, and stay with the 510 thread. When you get a larger battery, you can still use your 510 hardware and there will be even more exploring to do with tanks and clearomizers. Be prepared to fall out of your chair again whenever you're ready. And let us all know about it when you do.

I am so happy not only for this forum; a place I should have come to first, but I am glad I found it now. I had no idea the real world of this until my 510 came today. As I said I was like god, should I even bother to charge it? I was so turned off already and did not need another 60$ down the drain. I cannot wait to move to the next one, adding a drop on the atomizer is the best kick in terms of throat kick I have ever had. There is so much to enjoy now! I am just so happy.... I almost tossed everything out last week

What started it was when I saw people smoking, and that is when it hit me as per say. The amount of great service I got from those sites, asking a million questions just made it work. You guys are so great; this site is the best thing ever. Thanks everyone!

I had no idea the 510; and all the different parts I can buy. That was the 100% difference from what I had before- The Colibri. WOW is all I can say..... I love that you can just take the poly fil out wash, and then just add the new juice; just so wonderful.......

Matthew..... Are you using little cartridge/mouthpiecs things that hold about 10 drops that get absorbed into polyfill or sponge type material? Do you plug them into the atomizer?
If you are, please do yourself a favor and discover cartomizers. It sounds like you are using the old fashioned cartridges. If you are using cartridges and start using cartomizers, you will take another quantum leap and you best put some padding under your chair because you will certainly fall out of it.

I hate to be coming off like "spend more money, spend more money", but cartomizers are fairly cheap and have entirely replaced those little cartridges. I can't for the life of me figure out why they even include those things anymore. If you get a box of 510 2.5ohm cartomizers you'll never want to use those little polyfilled cartridges again.

Yup I am. My experience with the cartoimizers for the Colibri were a nightmare. I hated them; then again i hated the entire unit, and everything that went with them. I am about to infact place an order for a drip tip; as I love that throat hit it gives; when I drip on the atty. Maybe I should get a few carts and try them as you suggested. Do you have a link to them for Canada users? Otherwise I can see if I can hunt some down... I also want a small tank. Not sure if that is a good idea.

I could not get over the throat hit with the 510 if you drop on the LR atty. My former 24 ml is used, but I have to be very careful now with it; its allot of bang! I stepped down to 12; and when I am in the mood for a good hit, I go back to 24.

Update:510 2.5ohm cartomizers arrived....Sailorman: YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Sorry about the caps... I will never ever use those carts that the kit comes with. WOW is all I will say on this! Talk about the best advise ever! I filled one up; by filling the condom up, and let the juice soak in. Took a minute or less; and talk about vapour! I got a drip tip for when I want to change flavours all the time. Talk about one happy camper!

Thanks! to all that have those carts; pitch them; and get low R carts and you will see what I am talking about.
