My first vaporizer was the Kanger top box mini, I bought the platinum kit also. I never had a leak problem but I was never able to get any flavor from the tank. I ended up getting a RBA tank to get more flavor.
You may like the Eleaf Pico, its smaller and provides much better flavor, much better menu that's easier and it costs half the price of the Kanger, small tank but you can buy a larger one if needed. There is also You Tube which gives reviews of vaporizers to learn a little more.

I agree that the pico is a great mod & it's really reliable. I'd recommend it to anyone :) I don't like kanger products, although the Dripbox 160 if you put a different atty on it is very good.

If no one has pointed it out.... Close your airflow when refilling or you may leak. I felt like an idiot after figuring that out.
Kangar Tanks never gave me much flavor. But I have very fond memories of the Aspire Cleito and Im currently using a UWell Crown II. Although you may have to go over 15-20 for those. I used the Cleitos .4 at 50w and the Uwells .5 at 65w.

The Aspire cleito is a very good sub ohm tank but I smashed it :( I had to go for the exo tpd version but the old coils make it 3.5ml
I've heard good things about the uwell crown tanks too.
I'm using the baby beast that comes with the alien atm, I love the flavour but just wish it was less thirsty.
I liked the big baby too but I think it's too airy an man the drip tip is too wide bore.
Even bigger than the cleito one!

Oh and as a follow up I forgot. (sorry) Im using an Alien 220 which I guess is on the weighty side but there is an Alien AL85 which uses One battery and maxes at 85w. I can only Imagine its incredibly light as the Alien 220 is twice its size and not bad at all.
My favourite mod :) my first one crapped out but second has been great.

Wait, what a non-leaking tank is the new standard? I wonder what testing will be required for *that*? I'm imagining tanks being spun at G-forces at the NASA space station? I think it's great if tanks won't leak but to achieve that, it's worrying, I'm imagining a top-fill tank that won't open and a drip-tip that is closed off completely so it can't leak :( I'm actually still going to suggest the Nautilus 2, as I don't get leaks when I don't overfill and close off the airholes, and you have the option of various coils, including one at 0.7, which I thought I'd hate, but I love it. So you have lots of flexiblity with this tank and I've had mine at least 4 weeks and haven't shattered the glass yet... There are some dents in it, though :) The size of the tank kind of means the metal overhang isn't that much of a deal if you get one.

And, WTH FDA? Have you heard of User Error? The only leak free tanks will be the ones that are sold... Empty and unfillable. Happy vaping, sigh. :(

I like the Crown II but the drip tip ..if you can believe it.. opens up to be bigger than the original Cleitos. The flavor is smashing though. It was great on the .5s and Im getting the .8s to try today as they are claimed to be "the best for flavor" on the site.

I'll check it out :) btw if you wanna solid mod the tesla nano steampunk is amazing, only goes up to 120 watts but I use my cleito on it at 60 watts so I'm okay with that :)

Wow - have just come back to this thread today and some of the responses are great, I wasn't expecting such detailed and fantastic responses. Thank you all.

So based on this thread I think I am going to go for either the Eleaf Pico or the Aspire Nautilus. I'm tempted to go for both and use the Nautilus one for nights out as a stick might be better for carrying in the pocket.

Still not got much of a clue regarding wattage, coils, VG/PG, etc. Is there an easy to read guide where I can try and get my head around it?

Thanks again.

Hi There,

I am new to this forum and wasn't sure if this was the best place to ask for advice but here goes. I gave up smoking around a year ago moving to E-Cigs, at first I just bought one of those BLU starter kits which obviously wasn't great but it did the job in terms of stopping me smoking.

I enjoyed Vaping so bought myself a Kangertech Topbox Mini Platinum Edition however the two main problems that I have found are that it constantly leaks and is really quite heavy. This obviously means I can't take the device out of the house as it leaks in my pocket and weighs my trousers/shorts down quite a bit especially on a night out where you already have enough stuff in your pockets.

Another problem I have found since I started vaping is that I often feel wheezy and out of breath. I used to be able to run for 20+ minutes on a treadmill but can now rarely get above 10 minutes due to the struggle to breathe. I also wake up feeling quite wheezy in the morning and have to use a inhaler more than ever.

I have experimented with different PG/VG ratios/favours and have settled for the Vampire Vape which is a 60pg/40vg ratio - I found that going for higher VG liquids made my lungs extremely heavy. I also avoid the menthol juices as they seem to make my wheezing worse.

I currently vape at around 15-20 watts and not knowing too much about coils bought a pack of Kangertech Ni200 SSOCC Coils which I assume are ok?

I guess the advice I am looking for is can anyone recommend me a different mod kit which isn't so heavy and unlikely to leak as much and whether I am doing anything wrong with the types of juices/coils or anything else that I go for?

Thanks in advance :)
Hi and congrats on quitting. I think we all learn and grow in our baking journey and as we progress we learn what we like and don't like and what works best for us. Of course that means trying new things and learning how to do new things. I also when I first started used pre made coils and tanks. I also got a lot of leaking and didn't feel the flavor was what it should be so I learned how to wind my own coils and got some rebuildables. To start the taifun is a great choice. It's a extremely easy build it won't leak and the taste wow what a huge difference! I never went back!!

I've vaped for 8 years an for 3 or 4 years of them the nautilus mini has been my main tank :) it's a great combo with the pico too!
The wattage range will be personal to you but if your using the nautilus higher pg liquids are better. The 1.8 coil goes up to 14, I find my sweet spot is 12 watts & the 0.7 I find my sweet spot is 18.
I'm a 1.8 guy though :)
I own a few other tanks that take nautilus coils too, if you want any advice feel free to message me.
Btw the pico is what I use for on the go, it's quite compact.
I use the tesla nano at home as it is to heavy to carry around haha.

I haven't tried that, my main rta is a Kayfun lite but I don't build much.

If it's the original Nautilus you can use 1.8 coils.... and I think they make some other number coils, like 1.5? I may be wrong.... In a smaller, non sub-ohm tank, your watts are going to be lower, I think they're designed to run in like the 10--12 range but you can go lower (and I wouldn't necessarily go higher but the wattage range should be printed on the coil(s) or tank, I think.) Also, your PG/VG is really your preference.... If you're using a smaller, MTL tank, I'd advise a mix you can start with 50/50 and go from there, though you'll find your sweet spot by experimenting. I'd buy some flavors and some 0 nic unflavored juice so you can dilute if the nic or PG/VG ratio, if it isn't working for you? I have to use max VG due to PG sensitivity and the tank still works fine, though I sometimes have to change my coil more frequently as VG is viscuous and thick, while PG is thinner, gives more throat hit, and flavor taste. So, all that stuff is for experimentation/personal preference, as it were....

The 1.8 coils can be run up too 14 watts & yeah there's 1.6 & you can also use 0.7 ones that run in the nautilus 2 but there's a number of different tanks that take nautilus coils. Higher pg wicks better in the nautilus. I don't know how you use high vg in the nautilus, I find it gunks up an the coils don't last as long.
The only 1.5 coils in the nautilus range run in the NautilusX. They cannot be run in the original nautilus

Thanks for clarifying, Skold. I actually am liking (by accident, I got a dud coil, was getting annoyed after wasting 2 tanks of juice, and just shoved the 0.7 in there as I knew it was factory.) I'm only running it at 15 instead of about 13.8ish, but it makes a huge difference. I am noticing a slightly higher juice consumption, but that may be worth the increased flavor/ability to deal with viscosity/not having to change coils and try to clean them every few days.

Maybe the OP can clarify if he bought the Naut 2 or the Naut mini.... The nice thing about the Naut 2 (after using those coils) is it still runs very easily MTL which is my preference. I'm thinking the juice costs won't be so bad, and I'll probably be vaping slightly less.... But, it's nice to have that option for at work (it's not a total juice HOG, just slightly more frequent fills).

Good luck with your new setup! :)

Anna
