Well, since I decided to give vaping another go, I started to register a new account for this forum and was reminded that I'd already made an account and a few posts back when I first decided to give vaping a try. Back then I apparently gave a positive review to the Ruyan e-pipe after having it a few weeks. An update to that: after maybe 6 months or so, the Ruyan pipe quit working, and I gave up vaping. (This was in 2008. So I can't say whether the Ruyan pipe is still the same or if they have made improvements to make it more durable since then.)
Anyway, here's my vaping background:
-longtime pipe smoker;
-not interested in quitting pipe smoking altogether, but a few years ago I started exploring ways to (1) reduce the amount I was smoking, and (2) increase my enjoyment of life when I'm in situations where smoking is not permitted;
-discovered snus, which I still use and enjoy greatly;
-also discovered e-smoking and tried the Ruyan e-pipe and some of the cheaper knock-off versions of it;
-liked the Ruyan pipe until it broke after a few months, unacceptable to me given the cost of it and the hassle of ordering stuff from China;
-gave up vaping; stuck with pipe smoking and snus.
Recently, I got intrigued about vaping again, seeing more e-cigs around in stores including places like Walgreens, other people vaping in public, and more discussion online etc.. It made me wonder if perhaps the technology and market had advanced to the point where I'd be interested in trying it again. Did some research to start getting up to speed and learned that appears to be the case. I have now orderd a Jazz Cartopipe and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive.
In the meantime, I found a local seller of the Joyetech eGo--I got hooked up with one of those and some e-liquid for it yesterday. And, wow, what a revelation! This thing works great, and it seems likely to last and provide satisfaction for a long time. I'm really digging the new vaping experience so far, and I can see myself sticking with it this time.
Anyway, that's a long way of saying "hi" again and reintroducing myself to the forum.
