Hi all, I got my Ego tank two days ago and my first impressions are- very pleased with it. Had to laugh on my first public vaping earlier today. I had a few drags on my new VP as I was walking through the precinct to go into the shopping mall. Within 30 seconds a woman stopped me and very politely asked me if a had a spare cigarette she could have. I said i did not have any cigarettes as I did not smoke. Oh!!! she said with a puzzled look on her face. This is a Personal Vaper I explained. Oh!!!!! she said again with another puzzled look on her face as she turned and walked away.

My first time vaping in public was about the same as yours only it was while on break standing around with the smokers (I had to stand upwind of them couldn't stand the analog smell!) got some strange looks then the questions started. Converted 2 coworkers so far and 2 of my neighbors though it helps that there are 2 stores relatively close by, one 6 blocks away the other about 20 miles away. I still haven't worked up the courage to vape through the grocery store although my neighbor does it all the time and no one says a word to him.

I was told last night at a local Restaurant and Bar that I couldn't smoke there untill after the 10pm when the kitchen closed. I just smiled and said ok and kept on vaping. Then she finally looked at me and said what the hell is that thing. I told her but I don't think she understood. I think getting me the right beer was a challenge for this one.

Hi Chrissie

I've only got the standard "tanks" at the moment and it seems fine to me but of course I can't compare it with anything else so far. It's likely I will look into and try other options before long. Only had it a few days but I've been lurking here a few days trying to understand what everything means.

I had a holiday down your way a couple of years ago now, Beautiful places around you in Cornwall but we were unlucky with the weather. Hope to give it another go before too long.

Lol...welcome SmokieJoe...your post really caught my attention ! Our founder is SmokeyJoe !

Hi classwife, Oh no......Now I feel bad for taking his name lol, I only opted for smokie spelt with an ie because there was a pop group many years ago who spelt it that way. I was very surprised it was available.

I love the looks I get in public with my lavatube or bombshell vaping away. I have converted about 5 people now a couple friends and then a few people at walmart. I am almost tempted to get a buisness license so I can just sell them whenever someone tries mine and wants a kit. I can just go to my truck and give a couple options and set them up right there. Maybe it'll be the new door to door salesman the door to door vape store. Has a good ring to it doesn't it. might get that goin.

Wow seems like everyone gets close to the same reaction. I'm new tot he whole vaping as well and have to say I've gotten a few looks just as you. It's funny explaining what it is then that person looking at you going "uh huh" almost like they don't belive ya. I can say I've got a couple people to tyr mine and they both have said there getting one, so I guess it's a good thing.

Well fo whats its worth welcome to the forum as well since it seems we are both new to it.

If you want to sound like you know what you're talking about, just add the suffix "omizer" to every other word or so. ;) Everyone will be astounded at your vaping knowledge! Welcome to ECF, glad you're having fun! :D

I vape in public quite often, and get reactions such as:

Is that one of those electronic cigarettes? I hear they can explode!
That's one of those water vapor cigarettes, right?
What the hell is THAT?

I'm getting better at coming up with succinct responses and have converted two people (a neighbor and an employee) so far. Welcome to ECF SmokieJoe!

It is beautiful in Cornwall (many beautiful places in Yorkshire as well - I'm originally from there :) ) but it does tend to rain a lot down here :(

Out of interest, which UK vendor are you using?

List of some of the best ones here & with any known discounts shown -

So far I've only tried a couple from Juicycigs. Old Holborn flavour and also aniseed. I will try a few others though. Thanks a lot for the link
