Hi all,

Thought I better introduce myself. Been a smoker of analogues for just over 25 years, started when I was about 13... yeah.. 13!

Wife and I have been married for 15 years, and in april this year we both decided to have one last stab at trying to create a baby, tried before with no success, so on our 15th anniversary we stopped all forms of protection, and just went for it.

2 weeks later... yeah... 2 weeks! She was pregnant, although we didnt find out until she was 6. That was enough of a push for me to finally can those analogues and search for some help.

We had given up before about 10 years ago, but lasted a year, using patches, gum etc, but it was damned hard.

A friend suggested E-cigs, so loads and loads of research later, ordered an Ego-T from LF in the UK, and the kit arrived, ordered some 5ml juices as well.

At first we tried using both, but that didnt work, so I made the stand, normally we bought ciggys in 200's, and just went to the magic cupboard when needing more.

I said to the wife on a Friday, when this batch runs out, we are e-cigs only, no more cigarettes, no more flushing loads of money down the can.

It was hard, but now, 10 weeks later, still aint touched an analogue, and we are still married and relatively stressless (well as much as you can with a 20 week pregnant wife).

Since then, I have started building my own, played around with some tanks, and now have the parts to build a VV mod, with 18650s, my goal is a device that will last me all weekend camping, as I do that a lot, and in a field, there isint many places to charge batteries.

We both now vape menthol as we prefer not to have tobacco flavour, we both found them too close, but not close enough and actually made me want an analogue after vaping. Menthol is cool as its nice fresh breath!

Happy vaping

Brad

Congrats on 10 weeks, and welcome aboard! Difficulty in switching is different for everyone, but once you do manage it, there's really nothing greater for an ex-smoker to finally be rid of those foul sticks and vaping something that's comparatively far safer and tastes much better, too. I was fortunate in that I took to E-cigs instantly, and I haven't been happier to see the backside of tobacco recede into the distance at Ludicrous Speed.

The eGo is a great device. I could never bring myself to like the tanks, but the batteries themselves have been workhorses. I've got 6 batteries and they're all still in fine working order. Still use them alongside my ProVari, too, loaded up with different flavours so I can just pick up whatever flavour I fancy at the moment. But the one thing I did like about the tanks (and the only thing, really) was that you can swap out flavours really quickly and it only takes a few puffs for the new flavour to kick in.

Good luck and continued success to you and your wife -- and your forthcoming tot. :)

If your charger is USB, then you can buy a cigarette lighter adapter and charge away. The other option is a portable inverter that plugs into a 12v vehicle outlet. Even a cheapo 200 watt inverter will charge an Ecig just fine.

Yeah, thats an option if going by car.. :) I normally go away on my motorbike, although it does have 2 cigarette lighter sockets and 2 USB sockets - I am a bit of a geek and added these to allow me to charge my blackberry, satnav, camera etc on the move.

Trouble is I can only do it on the move, to do it stationary will flatten the bike battery in no time.

Have been playing with a solar panel I bought a few years ago cheap, but never found a use, it just bigger than the top box on the back of my bike. Thinking of mounting it on top, and then making up a charger station inside, that way I can charge stuff without draining the bike battery, and keep them in a waterproof container in case it rains while charging. Good old UK weather, the one thing you can rely on is it will rain at some point.

The 18650 mod is nice because I just carry 2 sets of batteries and thats me all weekend, nothing to worry about charging. Might make a smaller mod using a 2xAA box just for portability.

Who knows.... I have noticed alot on here, once you start modding, its a very long road and seems to never end.

Thanks reprisal, thats exactly what I will be doing for the next weekend away (in 2 weeks time) got 3 pairs of 18650's and get 2 days out of each pair. Also have a portable battery pack that is 11000mah with a USB connector, bought of Amazon for the pricely sum of £21.99.... bargain, it can charge my blackberry about 6 times, or my batteries a few times, or my tablet twice.

Yeah - geek - never get away from the internet, not even in a field. lol.
