I've read everything I could find and watched a few videos, but I'm still having some paranoia about filling my own cartos. I just got my shipment from Blue Mist vaping and filled a carto with the sample flavor they sent me. I put around 20 drops in there and it looked like it was well saturated, and even seemed like it didn't want to take any more, so I put it on the battery and no vapor came out, even worse it immediately gave me a burnt taste. So, rather than ditched the now ruined carto I decided to try to fill it right so I'd know for next time (it was free juice anyhow) so I added more until there was a visible pool that didn't go away on top of the filler and it seemed to vape fine, still tasted very burnt of course.

For the next one, I filled until I little bit dripped out of the bottom and dried it off and it worked fine. I was a bit paranoid that I would overfill and ruin my V2 automatic battery though so I kept blowing through it and wiping the excess. That one worked absolutely flawless, it was their Smooth flavor it tastes great!

I filled two more with flavors I ordered using the same method of dripping juice in until it started dripping out the bottom, I was paranoid about ruining the battery by overfilling, but also paranoid about ruining the carto by under dripping. So I also let it set for about 20-30 minutes to make sure it all soaked in good. When I put one of the two freshly filled cartos on my battery, I instantly got plenty of vapor, but it has a burnt taste (it was fresh carto, not the one I burnt) I don't know if the carto is burnt, or if I just need to let the juice seep, or let the carto soak even longer, or what. Something that seems so simply now seems like rocket science that I will never be sure about. Any advice for newbies on the proper amount to fill a carto? I don't want to try this fourth flavor and burn a carto, and I don't know if the third one is burnt or the juice is just bad (it's cherry cheesecake flavored)

You can properly fill any carto by dripping into the open end, as you have done. Take off the white plastic plug and toss it if you use a drip tip. Hold the carto upright and at an angle so your drops land on the filler material and not into the air passage tube. Fill drop by drop rotating the carto 1/3 turn for each drop. When excess liquid drips out of the 510 connector end on the bottom wipe it off and let it set 15-20 minutes. Drip in a few more drops until excess appears again. Lightly blow into the carto to clear any juice from the air passage. The carto is ready to use. Depending on the size of the carto you will have to refill more often to prevent burning. Depending on voltage and resistance you will have to refill more often to avoid burning the carto.

Thanks guys. The v2 uses a 4.2 volt battery. I have no idea about the cartos though, they don't mention the specs on the website that I could find. They are KR808D-1 compatible if that says anything about resistance or size.
I'm going to assume that only the first carto burnt, since I went back to the one I thought I burnt and didn't really taste the burnt taste anymore. I just doesn't taste good. Certainly nothing like cherry cheesecake. Maybe the juice needs to sit longer, or maybe it just doesn't taste good. I dunno. It's not a problem since I like the Smooth so much. I've got Honeysuckle Tobacco and Robacco Menthol left to test. So we'll see how it goes. The Maple Bacon wasn't particularly great either, though not as bad as the Cherry Cheesecake. And I didn't expect much out of a bacon flavor. But I'll let that one steep as well.

I use the condom method when I'm filling my husband's cartos. It's quick, it saturates well, and it's easy.

I think PBusardo goes over the condom method in the video above, it's been a while since I watched it and my Internet is running a bit slow today so I'm not really able to double check. If not, look it up on YouTube.
