Okay, sorry if I get this wrong, it's hard to see exactly what you're using.

Mix 1 - M-type tobacco / caramel / vanilla - tastes like rubbing alcohol.

I think that you're adding too much at once. Start with individual flavorings, at low %'s, and work other flavors into the blend, slowly. I've read that the M-type takes a while before it becomes okay to vape. In my opinion, not a good beginner flavoring.

Mix 2 - Caramel / Kona Coffee - tastes like doo doo - I have read that the Kona coffee, or most coffees for the matter speaking, are extremely potent, and should be used very lightly. I am seeing a trend with these blends, but let's move on to the next to see for sure.

Mix 3 - Caramel - nothing specified on this - Are you seeing a trend here? Caramel is in almost everyone of these blends. Could it be that you just don't like the caramel from TFA?

Mix 4 - French Vanilla / Toasted almond - nothing specified - I cannot speak for this with experience, only that I don't know if toasted almond sounds all that great to me, but that's just me.

Mix 5 - M-type alone - I read that people use this tobacco at very low %'s, and 20% is extreme for tobaccos, as far as I have experienced.

What I see here is a few things. You're diving into relatively complex recipes without first trying each flavor individually to get a feel for each one. Whenever I get new flavorings in, I always try to mix them alone, at very low %'s, and then proceed to carefully add additional ingredients based off of previous experiences, and what I think would go good with them. If I do jump into a recipe without knowing what the ingredient tastes like, I only use 1 drop of each ingredient, taste it, and adjust to my liking.

As for the M-type, that's a difficult flavoring, and as mentioned, very potent. Give it some time, and try something else (as you had mentioned earlier in this thread). Fruit flavors are relatively simple, but some of them aren't all that great. What type of fruits do you like?

If you're looking for real easy, shake and vape flavorings, might I suggest the following TFA flavorings?

-Blueberry extra
-Double Ry4
-Apple Pie
-Black Honey Tobacco (though some might argue that steeping is required, I do not believe it to be so)
-Dragon fruit (tastes like sugar fruit runts to me)

Are just some to name.

got that made wonder how loong i should let it steep for.

it actually smells great right now.

Try it right away!

If it's good enough to vape, vape it. If you feel it could be better with more of one or the other flavoring(s) involved, or perhaps another flavoring, add slowly, and taste after every addition. If it's still a little rough, allow it to sit for 24 hours, then try again.

I know some people swear by steeping, and I am even inclined to admit that some blends benefit from such a practice. However, I am trying to dispel the notion of mandatory steeping for every blend created. It's simply not necessary :)

Let me know what you think.

jdenson, you certainly are a brave soul! I'm new to DIY, but I'm not going to mix any flavors until I've tried that single flavor first. I also mix small batches, either 5 ml, or 10 ml. I want to know how strong or weak that particular flavor is. When I found that sweet spot for each flavor, I will start deciding on what to mix together, one at a time. I may be wrong, but that's the way I'm approaching it.

I'm also using Wizard Labs nicotine, and it's odorless.
