I am still working at creating a replacement for my pre-made ADV, and quite honestly, I am failing.

Even though my DIY recipes have included as much as 20% total flavor, they still end up far less flavorful then the pre-made (Ahlusion's Apple Wildwood, in case you were wondering)

While I don't expect to duplicate it, something equally satisfying would be nice. I understand steeping is a big part of it, and I also tend to be impatient. But some of the mixes I've tried, even after steeping for 2 weeks, fail to match the intensity of the pre-made liquid. Ahlusion's liquid is much "richer" and more flavorful.

So I wonder if I'm going about it all wrong, by using larger percentages of tobacco. I've also tried additives such as vape wizard, AP, and EM. Perhaps I need to try higher percentages and adjust my nicotine base?

Any advice is appreciated. While I don't hate what I've already made, something is missing. Perhaps an ingredient I haven't considered?

EDIT: I figured I should add an example of something I've mixed, this one being the most recent:

5% Capella Apple Pie
5% FA Shade tobacco
5% FA Dark Vapure
3% FW Bavarian Cream
6 drops FA Oakwood per 30ml

I like this one, but it misses the "richness"

I just did. Thank you.

So, most likely, I am over flavoring causing my issue. I'll try a new batch this weekend. :)

Do a google search for head in the clouds flavor art notes. Very helpful. FA is pretty Much 5% max for single flavors and even then most are fine in the 1 to 3% range as a single flavor.

I backed down the flavoring percentages on the Tobaccos and it had a nice effect. Interestingly enough, the missing "richness" was provided by FA Vape Wizard at 2%. Vape Wizard seems to add more of a sensation for me then it does alter the flavor. As recommended, I also tried a touch of TFA Hazelnut, and am enjoying that addition as well.

Perhaps I'll post a recipe after it's steeped for a week or two, but I'm already vaping it, and so far, I am enjoying a suitable replacement for my Apple Wildwood.

Thank you for the advice!

I'm having the same issue... I made a very simple recipe that I found online that had great reviews. All it was; 6% TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) and 10% TFA Ripe Strawberry. It tastes like nothing after day-2. I added 3 drops of Bavarian Cream to maybe help round off the sting of the strawberry, but trying it in a RBA (.3 Ohm Dual Macro), tank (SMOK TFv4 Clapton), and even a naked carto, I get nothing. I mean it has a flavor, but if you gave this to me blind, I probably wouldn't be able to get what it was. I'll try reducing the percentages and see if that helps.

that is almost my exact Strawberry cheesecake recipe. One of my 3 ADV's. It taste nothing short of putrid for at least 4-5 days, gets real good in two weeks.
