Aloha folks,

New guy here as you can see. Haven't smoked a cigarette for two weeks now, almost going on 3. First PV I used was a Lavatube 2.5 that was given to me. Then tried a Kanger stog e mini, and now I'm using a Bagua mini clone with an Igo-s atty as my first build. Have to say I'm really enjoying not having to spend about $10 or so per pack on cigarettes. I really love the different varieties of flavored liquids that I'm wanting to constantly try out. Since then, I have experienced one of the symptoms of quitting, such as having ulcers. Lung function though, I suppose it's too early to tell. Still able to breathe, but feel anxious at the same time because of not being able to feel like I'm breathing in deeply. Hopefully this improves as time goes by. Until then, looking forward to reading and learning about all the different experiences people here have :)

Give yourself time. Some people see improvements almost immediately. Others, it takes a while. You WILL see an improvement in your breathing, both from improved lung function and cleared sinuses. Don't let your anxiety rule you. Just let things be, and see what happens. Not sure about the ulcers. Is it mouth or stomach?

Oh, and welcome to the forum. Happy vaping.

Welcome to ECF rob8082014! As Katmar said, do give it time. It took a while to gunk everything up, it takes a bit to get rid of it sometimes. I didn't notice the difference for several months. Hang in there. :)

ETA: Newportlocal posted whil I was typing and hit the nail on the head. Drink lots of water. vaping will dry you out but also the extra fluid will help your body move the smoking crud out.

to ecf rob8082014. So glad you are here and aloha right back at ya. Just be patient and give it a little more time. I think there was a lot of junk that I got rid of when I started vaping. I have a friend who had COPD very bad and within 2 weeks you couldn't tell it was the same person. Her doctor was simply amazed and took her off a lot of her medicine and she stopped using an inhaler. So I have seen what it can do. Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing too. One thing about ecf is that the people here really care. That is what makes it such a special place.

    Aloha Katmar,

I'm having a mouth ulcer, I suppose it' s a cold sore, but located under my tongue. Weird spot I thought. But happy vaping to you as well! :)

Aloha. Just got back from Maui. Yep, that $10 a pack there is expensive. Rather spend it on a good plate lunch. Vaping is way better. Hang in there, and drink lots of water.

See?! Even Newportlocal can confirm how expensive it is. Glad I can just walk by cigarette display cases and laugh at myself for not wanting to make the switch sooner. Thanks for the support!

    Aloha FlamingoTutu,

I definitely have noticed that I do tend to get a little more dehydrated now than before and find having to relieve myself more often than usual also. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome! At first, even before of hearing more and more of PVs and e-cigs, I thought I already had some form of COPD because of how i felt with my lung function, being that it has decreased, and my anxiety levels grew at times at night. I have had asthma when I was a child but grew out of it, only asked for/used an inhaler whenever feeling sick for those "in case" moments when I really felt the need to use it. I still have a new inhaler still in the box from the last time I been sick which was over 2 years ago because, rarely, if not, more or less do I get ill.

Really like this forum and the wealth of information it holds. Thanks again everyone for the welcome and support!
