Hello ! I just starting vaping about a week ago. I am quite pleased.

My questions are:

1. It is normal for one of the side effects for those just starting to vape, an aching feeling in the lungs.
I never had this when smoking analogs, so I was surprised. Is it just my lungs adjusting something new?
Or could I be breathing in air as the first 24 hours, I experienced some stomach upset that went away.?

2. When smoking an analog, I am not one to light up and breathe in deeply. I only ever half inhaled a cigarette, I am discovering. My friends used to say I was a fast smoker, just taking quick puffs. But I am very addicted, nonetheless..probably just the fact I half inhaled for 25 years and the nicotine is in my system. BUT with Ecigs, I am inhaling deeply, something I NEVER did with Analogs.

3. Should I instead just not inhale, IE will the Nicotine just being in my throat and mouth be Enough to handle the Cravings ? As my lungs hurting, unless temporary, is very uncomfortable and troublesome.

4. I have seen some You Tube Videos where they suggest taking Not smoking like a regular cigarette..ie taking longer slower drags on an ecig than on an Analog. But Can I do that and just not inhale and Yet the Nicotine will get in my system.???? I am assuming that works because that is the principle behind nicotine gum/ patch/ nasal spray..the nicotine gets in through the skin or mucuous membranes.

Thanks in advance for any advice and sharing of your experiences and knowledge.

PS Lungs did not ache at all until the 7th day of vaping and I am actually not vaping a lot. Could it be that I am smoking it too differently from analogs and using it like one of those nicotrol inhalers that I used before Ecigs? As those are different in that there is no vaper, just trying to get nicotine which is tough with the inhaler and gum?

Hello ! I just starting vaping about a week ago. I am quite pleased.

Hello, and welcome to ECF! Congratulations on switching to vaping!

1. It is normal for one of the side effects for those just starting to vape, an aching feeling in the lungs.

I don't think it should be something lasting. I had a little bit of strange feelings in the lungs at very first, but it went away. Can you tell us something about the VG/PG mix in your liquids, and nicotine strength?

High VG liquids can, at first cause a "heaviness" in the lungs. On the other hand, some people are sensitive to PG. You might want to try tweaking the ratio - vendors allow you to set this with your orders.

Inhalation technique can be a problem - you need to take a slow, steady, soft draw into your mouth and then stop and only then inhale the vapor (preferably with the mouth more open than when you smoked). It is not necessary to inhale, unless you want to - nicotine is mostly absorbed, from vapor, in the mouth and nasal passages. If you can, you can let some vapor out of your mouth before you breathe it in, then inhale it through your mouth and nose at the same time to increase nicotine absorption.

3. Should I instead just not inhale, IE will the Nicotine just being in my throat and mouth be Enough to handle the Cravings ?

No need to do so, see above. You need to spend more time on the draw - 3 seconds at least, maybe upwards of 5. But then you can play with it in your mouth and only briefly inhale and exhale as slowly as you can. It does not need to "go deep in your lungs".

Iv'e noticed that if I vape a higher PG juice I get a dry cough and a coating in my throat that even changes my voice . I don't know what kind of juice you are using but some people dont react well to PG.
VG on the other hand give some people gas.
you might have to play with the mixture until you find what agrees with you.

that feeling in lungs i had in the back and it scared the hell out of me,,but after 2 days it went a way.
i think because i was not coating my lungs with crap from the ciggs my lungs were starting to open up or i think so.
the feeling came about 3 days into useing my v2 ecig.
every day that i have used my ecig and not smoke a analog cig i feel better and better.
i will be glad when i get some lung power back.
i have been smoking for about 54 yrs. and about 2.5 packs a day for the last 25 yrs.
the only problem i have is remembering to drink plenty of water cause i do dehydrate from my vapeing.

Larry;)

Lungs aching is your body recovering from all the cig smoke. With vaping, you will absorb the nicotine in your mouth and sinus cavities. Puff on the ecig, hold it in your mouth, then inhale slightly and blow out nose and mouth.
Yes, don't use it like a cig, take long slow puffs and enjoy the flavor of vapor

that vaping through the nose makes me nervous,,i never would blow smoke thru my nose as i thought that i might get cancer in my sinuses and since they don't really know what the affects of vaping on the body will do to it ,i think i will pass on the vaping thru the nose.

smoke, or vapor goes through your nose anyway. I dont think you can stop it.
The french inhale is what is being suggested. You get a different flavor when you smell it as well as taste it.
Plus i usually sneeze after about three drags which clears out my head real good.
