And yeah most shops go higher than 12mg or offer nic salt versions. That might be the best solution for you @kiwigirl63 - ask if they have higher strength nic salts' eliquid. The nic salt eliquid won't irritate your throat as much
The device you are using can be used mouth to lung (how you smoke a cigarette) or a restricted direct to lung (big deep inhale).
If you have no luck with your local store, you can purchase nic salts online through these sites:

Well I got some e juice from a different supplier, yesterday. And...got it for nothing too...quite impressed,however in always carry the attitude,"Ok thanks for the free stuff,I'm so appreciative of this,however nothing in life these days give out anything for free,soooo what's the catch?"... But got the juice and have tried it.The stuff isn't bad,it's a banana type,and they upped to 12mg for me,the highest they go..
I'm happy that I'm not needing to suck on it constantly..that's a plus..but still choking on this one.Mind you,I caved and got cigarettes,and now don't. I'm hoping though this don't continue with the coughing when I inhale..it's like when I was 13 trying my first cigerette, coughing my lungs up type of cough..it's annoying as quite like the taste of e cigs thus far,and can't get a decent go at it..in the morning when I have my first lot I'm fine..it's usually about mid morning it starts...so I don't know if it's my emphemesia,or what's going on,but will see how it goes and will ring the shop..

I got my vape at 20/20 in Whangarei. I live in Ruakaka,here in Northland.
I was given a free sample yesterday, from a home address as I grabbed it from there personal letterbox...they run Viva La Vape in Whangarei,also...the shop 20/20 wasn't to informative where as Viva La Vape great and that was advice by phone and a free sample to go also,but quite a way out from town, and I was in a CAB funded by ACC so I was panicking,as was told was only a few minutes from town lol,it wasn't anyhow was much more pleased with the business side of things when compared to one another.
Yes different outlets probably do indeed see different approaches and results also...
I'm originally from Auckland,but have been in Australia 25 years,and been home now 4 years.. everything has changed so much,still trying to find my way around still lol...

Just know kiwigirl63 that this can be sorted and it will be the best option as against the death sticks
Yes I did well,as no cigs for a week almost,while I started vaping,but on low mg but now I'm coughing every time I inhale(like just now on my vape,well all night as soon as I inhale..sigh..worse on new juice for some reason..I'm on 12mg now so not needing more on the vape like last juice.. don't know with that...
Didn't cough like when smoking,full of gunk on chest then,but now u cough really bad every tumt I inhale, feel like I'm getting nowhere here,every time even with a small inhale to,it's crazy..nup tried again.. not working..sigh. will ring them tomorrow to see what's going on here..Thanks again for message
Gosh I thought it was only 12mg everywhere here in NZ..good to know it's not..but I need to get pass coughing on every inhale,it's disheartening..and I sound like a dam walrus,or sick seal,my neighbors must think what the? But you know the week I gave up the sticks my lungs started to heal a bit,and the few days I had the sticks my lungs have filled up with gunk again...I actually preferred going back on my juice rather than sticks but now I'm going to burst my liver and lungs at this rate..noooo can't even get a inhale in at all tonight without coughing violently..sighhhh
Yep, at the end of the day it does seem a bit strange....definitely get it checked out by the doc. He'll be able to tell if there is inflammation down there
Maybe play around with the airflow on your tank kiwigirl, you will get the hang of your vaping style and lose that cough

I remember the first shop too mentioned that the salts and I had no idea what they even were and not much explained to me,so I know they are around here.. thank you for that..
Maybe that's the answer...yes it's hitting my throat on the inhale, every inhale now with different juice too,I'm just wasting it as i cough it up..

There should be a ring around the bottom or top of your tank you can turn, you will see some holes when you do.

I have copd too and I don't cough hardly at all but I know that it is a symptom of the lung problem. You definitely need the spirometer test because that tests how much oxygen you are getting/capacity of lungs as opposed to the norms and it is the bench mark for whether your meds are working or not......

All I had this morning is coughing up brown stuff but think it's normal with emphemesia...
But thanks once again for answer,so Happy I'm not coughing..
While I have you..can I ask on the coils..I changed mine as been near 2 weeks since changed mine as sharp on throat,but changed it and the coil looks normal,what am I looking for if the coil gives me a sharp throat,burn throat...they say to change them then,but I did and coil looks like the other one..I don't really know what I'm looking for?

The airflow is to make it looser or tighter to suck in the the vapour, which makes it easier to vape!
You will notice a difference in flavour when vaping your juice, also a drop in vapour produced.
This means it's time for a Coil change.
If it still tastes good, keep on vapin

Just to add to what @Daniel Forsyth has said, your airflow adjustment is used to add more or less air to your vape. So it is more or less dense or strong.
Oh yes,it was a very sharp taste,and little vapor also, your so right there...wonder if that also made me cough as well.The airflow is to make it looser or tighter to suck in the the vapour, which makes it easier to vape!
