Hi, folks! Just got my first e-cigs this week.

Ordered some of those "freebies" for $4.95 shipping. Sure they phoned to try and upsell me the moon, but used a single-use only card number for ordering and said "no" a few times. It's all good.

I also ordered a Joye eGo kit from Cignot.

Thrilled with the eGo(s)!

Surprisingly, the "freebies" are 510's and I am happy with those as well. Go figure! Can't beat 'em for $4.95.

I've been lurking here for the better part of the week, so thought I'd finally say "hi" and make my introduction.

So.... Hi! :2cool:

Welcome!

The freebies may be the same threading as 510 without being 510 - they could be reverse polarity clones or 510/306 disposables. So don't try to charge the little batteries in your Ego charger - for 2 reasons - the fast chargers of the fat battery models can damage slim batteries. And if your slim batteries are reverse polarity clones, then battery and/or charger may melt or worse - it can be dangerous.

Also - the Ego can use any 510-thread attys or cartos that come with slim 510-threaded ecigs. However the slim batteries cannot use LR (low resistance stuff) that the Ego can use (LR can damage slim batteries).

Glad you like the Ego! And I recommend you try Boge cartomizers on it. Fill them well (18+ drops of thin eliquid into the stuffing and I hold a tissue against the threaded end hole), clean up, let lay on different sides for 15 minutes or so to make sure very bit of stuffing is damp so you don't singe it. Then while vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting unusually warm, add some juice to avoid singeing.

Hi pamiam. Smart move getting an ego. Especially a joye. I have had nothing but good results from everything joye.

I've always used attys and cartridges untill recently. Dormouse has been recommending cartomisers so often that i thought i would try them. Very good. Ideal for me working on building sites. I just fill it up in the morning and it's good till i get home. I only get two half hour breaks (Even though i work for myself lol). If you vape heavy though you'll probably need to have some liquid on you.

So Dormouse - Thanks.

Welcome from another Carolina Girl! (I use the word "girl" very loosely.)

Are you quitting smoking? I'm eight weeks away from the one-year mark, and very happy with my collection of egos, minis, 510s and juices. I lost the cigarettes and gained a hobby, I guess.

Best wishes -- you've stepped onto the right path and I know you're going to have many enjoyable moments with that ego!

That's exactly what I hope to do! :thumb:

So far I am still dipping into the analogs a bit, but wouldn't if my DSO wouldn't keep dragging them home. ;)

The first morning coffee after the e-cigs arrived, I went to the porch for an analog with DSO, took a couple of drags, put it out and ran for the eGo - not because of wanting to quit smoking, but because the eGo is *better* than the cigs. I truly missed it! :2cool:

I am very happy so far!

Thank you for all of the great advice, and to Del Boy for the reiteration! I will definitely give the cartomizers a try!

My mom got caught up in one of those. She thought she was giving me a cheep-o gift until I pointed out it was a subscription deal, and the cartomizers were $8/pop, or $4/pop. It was "e-cigs" case with 2 semi-decent 510 cartomizers. They didn't even what the unopened package back, so I got two free cartomizers and a spare 510 battery.
