Hi,

I just got my Prodigy 801 today and I am enjoying it. I just don't know anything about manual. How long can I hold the button in before the atomizer gets too hot? Also, I was wondering, if I fill my cartridges with smoke juice do I also have to drip on the atomizer? Thanks for any help. The only other e cig I had before today was a njoy NPro which did not impress me. Today I received an 801 Penstyle kit too which I also like but the Prodigy is wonderful I am just afraid I will break it...lol

Hi Boo, I have had my Prodigy 801 about a month, had to learn a bit.

I hold my button down for about 4 seconds, that is a plentiful hit. You dont want your atty to get too hot. Drip a couple drops, take a couple of hits and if the atty feels really warm, wait a bit for it to cool before hitting it again. Getting the atty too hot will fry it. I had to learn this the hard way. You wont break it, it is built like a tank.

Also, when I first got my Prodigy, i grossly under-estimated how much juice to use. it will get really hot wthout enough juice.

I drop 3 drops, take a couple hits, drop a couple more and take a few more puffs. I quit using carts and drip directly now as it seems the cart was not giving it enough juice. IMO it draws better and you get better flavor without a cart. The Prodigy was made for dripping.

One good way to tell if the atty is too dry is- when you hit the botton for a sec and stop, if the atty still sizzles a bit (after you let go of the button) it may be to dry.

If your atty gurggles, you have too much juice. In this case, I blow from the battery end into a paper towel to remove extra juice. Another thing I do if flooded is hold my atty over the sink by the battery end and flip it a few times like Im shaking down a thermometer. Careful not to hit it on anything.

Like I said earlier, I too, am new, but these are things I have learned and practice. Works for me. :) Takes a bit of practice but is the very best I have ever used!

PS. You may want to get a couple of extra attys to have on hand and dont be afraid to ask any questions, the peeps here and at Puresmoker are a nice, helpful lot!

Thanks for the help. I have never tried just dripping with no cart but I will give it a try. I did buy 2 extra atomizers and plan to buy a few more. I guess I will need some more juice too. I have Pure Smokers menthol and I love it. I also bought the Riskee Yuice and it's good but I am a diehard menthol smoker for 30 years now...lol
I have to add that I have not wanted or needed a tobacco cigarette since my batteries got charged up last night!

Thank You Pure Smoker!! I love my Prodigy!

BTW Boo, If you find that you prefer carts over dripping... Avoid using tall-bridge DSE801 atty's with carts as many folks are having alot of trouble with that combination on the Prodigy.

The best atty's I have found for use with standard 801 carts on my Prodigy and PT's are found here... 801 Atomiser - Colors - e-Cigs Penstyle e-Cig 801 801 - Auto - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd
I bought 10 of those atty's about 6 weeks ago and have had 4 in rotation since then with zero failures, and they will suck a cart dry on the Prodigy so be sure to swap 'em out or top 'em off reguarly to keep that coil wetted.:)
I've also heard some folks state they are having good luck with carts on the BE112 atty's, But I haven't tested them myself.

Good Luck and enjoy your new Prodigy! :D

Mike
