This is not a complaint thread. I just got my Prodigy last week and I like it a lot. I have the 801 and 510 adapters. I prefer the 510 because the draw on the 801 seems way too hard. My problem is that only the new-style 510 atomizers work on my Prodigy.

By "new-style" I mean the ones that Innovaper was selling a few weeks ago. I have 5 of those, 5 of the Innovaper old-style and 7 that I bought from Puresmoker. I have tried several of the new-style on the Prodigy and they all work but when I try any of the old-style, from Innovaper or Puresmoker, they don't work at all. These atomizers work fine on my 510 batteries, just not on the Prodigy.

I would appreciate any trouble-shooting tips. Also, any tips for improving the draw on the 801 would be great, too. Thanks in advance.:)

Sounds like we have the same stuff...I have attys from innovapor, old and new, a Prodigy 801 and recently got a 510 adapter. My old style 510 atty was tight, but did thread all the way with a harder turn. Enough harder that I don't think I want to use the older style on the adapter again. As you noted, the newer Innovapor attys fit just fine. I've got some whistle tip 901 empty carts on order for the 510 ...I think they will fit fine as the newer style atty has a little bigger inner diameter also.

As for the harder draw (that's why I ordered the 510 adapter), look at the 801 reverse blowout thread. That helped me, and others, quite a bit. Someone did mention that it might be the juice (I was using JC low PG) which frankly, I thought that "no way" that was the problem. I did get some CashCap since, and no problems with draw for 3 days. No need to do the blowout technique, so I guess it does have something to do with juice thickness.

I wish I had more of the new-style. I would just use them all the time on my Prodigy because I prefer them. I use 901 carts with them and love that combo. Innovaper isn't selling the new-style anymore, so I'm going to have to find someone who sells them. My 510 adapter doesn't work at all with the old atomizers, no matter how tight I twist-completely cold.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try the reverse blowout.

Have you tried adjusting your center post? You essentially just have to knock it up or down to ensure you are getting a good connection with your adapter.

Whenever using different style atty's this has typically solved people's problems

editted to say: you can find detailed instructions on this in the troubleshooting thread, if you have issues finding it in there, re-post here, and i will find and post for you.

I haven't tried any adjustments. I'm not terribly mechanically inclined and have been hesitant to start fiddling with my Prodigy for fear I would ruin it. I had just planned on ordering more of the atomizers that work but now that the new ones are becoming hard to get, I guess I'll have to find a fix for my adapter.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I started wading through that thread last night but didn't read the whole thing. I'll look again.

There seem to be slight differences in the size of the thread on 510 atomizers generally. I have a dozen original Joyetech atomizers. Some of them screw in with no resistance, some are hard to screw in. As far as I can tell this has to do with inaccurate manufacturing from batch to batch rather than differences between "new" and "old" atomizers.

2nd page, pics on how to adjust it one way, with instructions. Its not too complicated, takes some elbow grease though.

editted for this: 2nd page=2nd page of troubleshooting guide post.

None of my atomizers are hard to screw in, it's just that the old style ones aren't making contact. The new style is slightly longer at the threading part and seems to have one extra thread.

Mmmm Old Style. Gonna go get one, thanks for the suggestion

Is this a 4 hole atomizer you were referring to? My old 4 hole atomizers work fine in the PT, but get outrageously hot.

Don't be confused. There are no "new" and "old" style atomizers. There are Joyetech atomizers and there are third party copies of Joyetech atomizers. What people mean when they refer to "old" is genuine Joyetech and when they refer to "new" they mean the copies.
