and of course I have a few questions lol. My name is Al and I'm from North NJ. I currently smoke about a half pack of menthol light 100's. I'm looking to quit. Needless to say there is an overwhelming amount of options but after a lot of research I think I've decided on an Itaste vv 3.0 with a Kanger mini tank.

Do you think this would be a good setup to help me quit? I like the vv so that I can turn it up when drinking which will be a true test to avoid analogs.

I'm open for suggestions and if you have any places that I can get the best deals on then I'm open for that too. The cheapest I've found has been on ebay.

Welcome to the forum! I'm three months in myself and no smoking since I started vaping. I don't have one, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Itaste vv3.0. Someone who owns it may come along soon and comment. Also, you can't go wrong with Kanger. Ebay has lots of good bargains, and I think if you check the feedback you can find reliable people. Lots of folks here order from ebay.

The only suggestion I might make is you really need a "back-up" device, maybe something like a small ego battery. You need something to fall back on if you should have a problem with your Itaste, and also to use while you are charging the Itaste. You don't want to be vaping successfully along, not smoking, and have a problem with no back up. People have been known to dash out and smoke when that happens.:)

welcome! the itaste should be a great vape for you, as stated above getting a small ego battery is a great idea for a back up. first time i really tried to quit, it didnt work because i craved a cigarette when i drank and i would give in. now when i drink i cant stand the smell of cig smokers around me, i try to battle the stank with vapor :p

Absolutely! This has been key a few times with me and I know friends that went back to cigs and took a while to start vaping again.

I know everyone here will scream, but the Blu pack is my backup. They're easy to keep up with, and do an adequate job of keeping the vape flowing until I get back to my other devices. Gave up smoking about 3 weeks ago and haven't touched or wanted an analog since. Hang in there! Find something that works for you and give up the stinkies.

Good luck.

Charge the MVP? You have to do that? Oh yeah, it lasts so long that sometimes I forget. :D

Joking aside, I could not agree more on backups of everything. I had a battery die on Thanksgiving Day with no backup and ended up buying a pack.

My primary battery back then was an X6 and I bought the iTaste as a backup, but it is the X6 that has become the backup.

Itaste vv3 is a good way to start, however learn from my expeience; if you're going to go with kanger go ahead and fork out for the aero tank, its glass so you can vape pretty much anything thats being sold and you can control your air flow :) I screwed up and grabbed 3 Kanger T3s; which are really nice tanks, don't get me wrong! There are just some juices i can't touch because they'll crack, and i can't control the air flow, so im prepping for pay day to grab 3 of those :3
Just remember it wont be anything like smoking, but if you give it a shot you'll be smoke free. However after you go 1 week on a 'PERFECT' you'll never go back to a coffin nail again...

As far as the 'Perfect' goes, some one posted that E-cig was a horrible name since it really is NOTHING like a cigarette, That is an excellent point and i totally agree, however what would we call the starter kits *ego and a tank*? Mods could stay mods, mechs could stay mechs. I guess ego could be pen? Pen Vaporizer? but vaporizer sounds too medical for me something pharma might try to regulate so how is PEFD - Personal Electronic Flavor Device, then you have that issue where a guy got a ticket for vaping behind the wheel, the judge asked him what the E in ecig was for and he said 'electronic' so he got ticketed for using an electronic device behind the wheel. so... how to fix this. Make it legal, nothing near cigarettes because this is not a freaking cigarette... keep it so you can vape in your own freaking car... PerFeCT!

Per - PERsonal
F - Flavor
Ec- EnhanCing
T - Taster

I shall call it PERFECT... just an idea...

Yep; great economical starter, especially for half pad smoker;
don't forget 2 or 3 replacement coils.

Yep the iTaste vv3 is excellent! I liked mine so much I bought another *as* my backup, although I also have a dirt cheap eGo-C Twist heading my way sometime in the next few weeks from form Hong Kong. If you're looking at Kanger tanks, my suggestion would be the T3S or MT3S, though it's easier to see how much is in there, in the T3S; for a glass tank, the Mini Protank II cannot be beat, though it holds less (1.6ml I think) than the T3S (about 2.8ml -- it's technically 3 but you can't go all the way to top or you'll get juice in the center tube, making it gurgle. Actually I've seen both good and bad reports of ALL the Kanger tanks, EXCEPT the Mini PT II -- that one seems all good. But the iTaste itself is hard to beat! The best price I've seen is Vapingtown, which is on eBay -- get the express kit, not the full starter kit, because those iClear16's are garbage, total waste of money.

I'm a newbie like you but I tried and tried to quit cigs for years.

I walked into my local vape shop, overpaid for an Evod starter kit, and never looked back.

Evod (I think) is just a high quality brand of Ego.

It was $65 and included two full vaporizers: 2 batteries, two connector to the tank doohickeys, two tanks, plus the initial coil and five replacement coils, and a USB charger with the AC adapter. After tax and 10ML of juice I walked out the door $80 light.

It was worth it.

I had been a pack to two-pack a day smoker for 27 years. Camel lights.

After that first day, I haven't even craved a cigarette (we call them "stinkies" now) since.

No shirt.

Haven't even craved one.

I'd look over on nhaler...which I believe is also north jersey....might be willing to arrange local pickup for you...or have details and bring something to a local vape meet...
Just saying that now that things are really taking off you should be able to find something local that you can try out and see what you like rather than throwing $ down the internet hole til you find what is to your liking..
They were one of the very first companies I started with 4 years ago, active in the vaping community, and have good customer service

I'd also suggest their juice...their 24mg newpure mixed 1:1 with their 12mg high voltage super menthale is the closest thing to a regular menthol I've found...
