Hello, so I just began vaping with an ego-T starter kit a few days ago and while filling some e-liquid got in the center, due to me being paranoid I decided to clean the clearomizer but many people & articles say that I should not let the eliquid run too low, so how would I go on to clean the clearomizer or change the flavor without letting it run out completely nor losing the eliquid left (about 0.4).

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Zulxer. Glad to have you here!:)

The only time you don't want your juice/e-liquid get too low is when you are vaping it. You can completely drain your tank when you want to clean it. If you have juice/e-liquid you want to save, use a blunt needle syringe to remove it. Once your tank is clean you can put it back in the tank.

I use an 18 gauge 5ml syringe to fill most of my tanks. If the juice is high VG, I use a 14gauge syringe. You can find these on Amazon or ebay or any vendor that carries DIY flavorings/supplies.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Susan, I appreciate it!

What'd you say is the safest to let the tank reach while saving as much eliquid as possible until I get one of those needles?

susan was giving you the "best" way to take ejuice out of the clearo, but you can just pour it out into another small bottle. you don't HAVE to wait to get a needle tip :)

I would not let the tank get less than 1/4 full while vaping. That often causes leaks.

Getting eliquid in the center hole of your clearo will just cause it to leak out onto your battery. You can take a kleenex or q tip and clean your battery where it connects to the clearo. Most all batteries are sealed now, so it shouldn't cause a big problem.

Most eliquid bottles have tinier drip tips now on them so you can be more "accurate" when filling your clearomizer and not get any down that center hole. If you do, you can blow it out from the bottom before attaching to your battery, wipe it off, etc.

Thanks for the advice Racehorse.

Yea I'm thinking of pouring it into some empty bottle.

Another question, how often should I clean the clearomizer and the wicks if I'm using the same eliquid?

Edit: Alright so I've cleaned it and I guess everything went correct, vapor is coming out and it's good. But something I noticed is that the wicks look kinda blury and there's a little burn in my throat, is that normal?

On bottom coil EVODs I often go right down to the last drop and the flavor goes off. Not a good idea or on purpose, but at least I recognize the flavor and stop then. If I took one more I'd burn juice and coil badly like I used to do sometimes.

Some clearos will get weak vapor or leak or flood if allowed to get too low. This has to do mainly with the slight vacuum in the tank that regulates juice flow. Obviously, when it's opened up to work on it there's no vacuum and therefore this is irrelevant.

Top coil types tend to work best when full, or rather poorly the rest of the time. I'm not sure what you have because a search comes up with several kinds -- frankly I hope what you have is more modern than most of those.

I do pour a small amount of juice in the trash, if the last bit becomes dark it avoids buildup.

There's supposed to be some throat sensation. Any burning taste is not normal and should be corrected.

I often change flavors in my tanks in midstream, so I empty the juice left back in to the original bottle by: open the bottle with the dripper, pull the dripper upward out (at an angle) enough to get the mouth of the bottle - ON THE DRIPPER, and let the juice flow down the dripper back in to the bottle.

I then wash the tank components one at a time, while holding it under warm water. Blow all the components out. Then just refill it. It never goes dry, and I never have to rewet the atomizer/coil.

I've been vaping since September and these steps never fail me.
