Well, Started with the Blu original. Then went to the Blu Premium 100 - bigger cartridge and battery. Still, I get about 30 minutes use out of the thing before I have to recharge.

Then I got a micro-tank called the V-nano and used it with the Blu batteries. I thought it migh produce more vapor, but it did not.

Thinking it was the battery power, I got a small 650 mah manual battery (eGo type). I found there to be no difference - the battery did not increase the vapor. But I noticed that the Blu cartridge vs the V-nano tank seemed to produce better vapor, no matter what battery I was using.

I also refilled the spent Blu cartridges with locally made juice and found that the vapor was better than the V-nano tank, but not as good as a fresh - unused Blu cartridge.

Any insight to these observations would be welcomed!

Welcome fellow Kentuckian!

I too started with a Blu, although a disposable...over the next month after that, I went through the whole "growing pains" scenario, getting a "starter kit" of cig-a-likes and finely ending up with a variable voltage device using Cartomizer tanks that just makes gobs and gobs of vapor...batteries last me the whole day, and I only fill the tank every other day...

If I had to guess, you're probably using a 3.0ohm cartridge. What would work best for you is a 1.5ohm. I don't know if that's available for Blu's though.

Welcome in Derby Town. The devices with the most options will have 510 threads. They include the Joyetech eGo, Riva, and almost all of the clones. This also includes the Advanced Personal Vaporizers, aka mods. Yes, VG will produce more vapor, but mutes the flavor. PG doesn't produce as much vapor, but lets more flavor through. I use 80/20 and 70/30 PG/VG ratios.

Thank you bruiser, KY_Rob and VapingRulz. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I am beginning to see a need for a couple of e-cig rigs for different situations. When I am driving, or playing a video game, I like to have an automatic battery and a very light rig so I can puff without pushing a button. When I am watching TV or not doing much, the heavier manual battery and tank seem to be a better idea. I am thinking of trying a USB wired rig for when I am working at the computer thereby preserving the life of my battery systems. Have any of you had experience with the USB-tethered systems?

The USB tethered systems (aka PassThru's) work great, and save batteries!

There are a few drawbacks to be aware of..

1.) The only ones I've seen have been a fixed 5v. There may be variable voltage devices out there, but I don't know of any.

2.) If you're using a PassThru, make sure you plug it into a properly rated 110v wall adaptor or 12v cigarette lighter. I highly advise NOT plugging them into your computer (although they'll likely work for a time). These devices can develop a fairly hefty current draw, which most USB ports on mother boards just cannot handle, resulting in a baked computer.

As far as the multiple rigs, you're right on! My personal favorites are DAV's from Vapor4Life using tanks. You get get a very similar product for the 510 carto's called a Vision Spinner if that's your preference. These things give all day long high end performance.

I do use a PassThru occasionally when at my computer at home, but that's not very often these days.

Hope this helps! :)
