Hi,

I'm new to the forum. Found this after my wife bought me a $5 e-cig that ended up costing $110... Yeah, we got caught up in the "free trial" scam that's been discussed elsewhere on this forum. After I got the $110 charge on my credit card (for about $6 worth of stuff) I started doing a little research and found this site. I've been lurking and reading for the last month or so and this place is great. All the info you could ever want if you take the time to read. Anyway, through this site I found a couple of great vendors, and have probably gotten way to involved in this stuff. Started with the free trial piece of junk, went to a set of Kgo's from Brent at Hoosier (GREAT service), and just now ordered a Pro Vari from ProVape (along with the batteries, case, charger, accessories, and on and on....), along with a tank system.

This is getting expensive but it sure is fun - and I haven't had an analog in almost a month! :)

Thanks to all of the great posters and info I've found on this very helpful site!

Welcome, sorry you got caught up in the free-trial scam. Sounds like you have some nice equipment now; that should make up for it. If you have any questions, let us know.

Thanks mooreted, I'm sure I'll have some questions after I get the ProVari and start trying to figure out what cartos and work best for me...

Wow a provari, great start. Wish they had one when I started. A vv would have saved me a lot of money trying to figure this stuff out. Are you buying juice and refilling? What kind of cartomizers are you using?

Yes, I'm buying juice and refilling. I' started out with attys and empty cartridges and filling with tobaco flavors and I'm now using Smok Tech 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos and filling with various tobacco and coffee flavors for the kgo. I've ordered standard 3ohm catos for the vv so I'll be able to use all of the available voltages. Still experimenting... Can't wait to get the vv and see if that improves the experience for me, but the kgo has been a great setup, especially for using while I'm out and about.

3.0 ohms is a good place to start with a provari. Personally I use a provari at home and an E power the rest of the time. The vv provari allowed me to figure out the power I need to get the vape that I am looking for. In my case it was 5 watts. With that knowledge I was able match my 3.7 volt e power with a 2.6-2.8 ohm cartomizer to get an almost identical vape.

This is the way it works
The more power battery sends to the coil the more juice that can be vaporized.
power = watts
More volts = more watts = more hit and smoke.
Lower ohms = more watts = more hit and smoke.

Using more watts will also drain your battery faster.

You may also want to read a bit about batteries. The important parts C rating and how it applies to vaping and safety.

Hi and welcome to ECF! Although you got burned with the 'free trial' nonsense, you've more than made up for it with your purchase of the provari...that's going to save you a ton of cash in the long run in that you won't be as tempted to 'step up' your device every couple of weeks ~ way to go!

Traver, Great info on batteries and power conversions. I saw that calculator on another post on this forum and created a link for it so I can gat to it easily. I'm hoping to do exaclty what you are talking about, figure out what resistance carto I'll need on my kgo to get the vape I end up liking on the vv. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words of encouragement. - I burned a hole in the seat of my wife's new SUV leather seat. She doesn't smoke and I wasn't supposed to be smoking in her car.... She wan't too happy!

Congrats on making it a month!! You will love the Provari, enjoy!! When I go by people smoking now it sickens me with the smell of smoke.

I agree VaporChic, even though it's only been a month, I can't stand the smell of my own workshop - where I used to go to smoke... We went out for a drink Saturday and the smell of the smokers standing around the door was pretty bad. I shouldn't complain since I was one of the people doing exactly that for 35 years but now I really do know what non-smokers were complaining about concerning the smell.

Once you get close finding the ohm/voltage combination you may also want to look into mixing your own juice. That way you can taylor your juice to taste best for the way you vape. The juice you buy often tastes better at higher or lower watts.
