I know this must be asked a 100 times a day, but here goes. I rolled the dice on a Cig2O to try and find out if the E-Cig is something I could live with. To my surprise I liked it! After refilling my leftover cartomizers for the first time this weekend I found that I like watermelon flavor and I'm looking forward to trying more flavors! The last week or so my battery is starting to act a little tempermental and it now has to be charged pretty often. I'm looking to move forward with something that may last longer than a few weeks and still satisfy my need for nicotine. I smoked Camel Filters for 20 years but I don't want to go back now!!!!
I'm looking for advice. Someone has already hit me with the Ego reply and I see some of you don't really agree with a blanket suggestion for that product. Please help an ignorant buyer with some products to research and to pick what may work for me.
Thank You to anyone who replies!!!
I'm leaning on your experience and knowledge to help guide me to make the right choice because I don't have unlimited funds to keep throwing away.

it depends on what you are looking for-
but for a compact beginner ecig, that has a good charge lifetime-
the eGo IS hard to beat(and has many clones)

The thing with ecigs is that the battery is just one small element in the winning combo that makes up ones vaping experience-
and eGo's, though not the most powerful-are supported well in the vaping community...won't cost you an arm and a leg, and are simplistic.
After that, its all about cartos/atties/juice

edit:if you want to babystep into modville, the e-power is probably a fav way to get into it-
i have one...my only issue with it are minute appearance based problems...and the damned button.

Hi Lumpy, congrats on your quit!!!!!!! I m sorry I can't offer you advice on your particular kit but I can give you my experience..... I started off with a inferior product Green Smoke and quickly changed over to the eGo. The eGo did the trick to get me off cigs after 27 years 1-2 ppd. It was a great purchase and I wish I had bought it first. However after 6 months with my beloved eGos I was finding it just no longer scratched that itch for me so I went to mods... First a VV Infinity which WAS GREAT!!!! High voltage did the trick for me but I found the constant burning of my cartos and constant filling was quickly becoming a PITA!!!!! So after a lot more research I found the Reo Grand at 6 V was my personal vaping nirvana. Now I'm happy..... Long story short.....it takes trial and error before you find what works for you, but the eGo is my number one go to unit for the beginner. Good luck!!!!!

I used quite a few of the PV's usually mentioned here in the forums . For my money , an E-Power is a great choice . The Ego uses proprietary batteries 15 to 18.00 for replacement . The E-Power uses Regular chargeable batteries , that not only have a bit more power than the Ego , they also cost a lot less to replace . About 5.00 . And like the Ego , It's compatible with all the 510 stuff , and their pretty cheap (less than an Ego) JMO and lastly , welcome to the ECF .

I am pretty new to the game just like you (been vaping for 2 weeks now). I started with a KR808D-1 kit with a 380 mah battery (elite 808 from cigeasy) and the battery lasts me all the way through work which is perfect. I always bring my spare with me though just in case I dont go home right after work.
Although I am satisfied with the 808, I want something that will not require re-filling cartos and also cleaning them out every week or so, to me, that is a PITA. My research has led me to look at bottom feeding mods due to their hassle free system which carries a bottle of juice and a longer lasting battery. I am going to go for the Vmod by vapage in a couple of weeks, but I have also read that the REO is well liked around here (Grande and mini). All of them use 510 attomizers that will last almost a month without you having to clean them and have higher capacity batteries, and, my favorite part, enough juice to last all day and all night without having to re-fill. Just my 0.02

I don't own an e-power but you could do one heck of a lot worse. If cost is an object then maybe that's the thing to try with either Boge or Smoktech LR cartomizers. madvapes has an e-power starter kit for $40 and you can pick up some of their 510 dual coil cartos for about two bucks each - maybe get five or so of them to start out.

There. I'd like everyone to notice that I did *not* recommend an eGO/EMDCC setup.

Welcome lumpy. You have come to the right place. If you have a question the fine people here will always help you out. We all started once upon a time and have been vaping away ever since. When I started I got a Magma kit, (510 PCC) from Volcano that a buddy gave me. He switched to their Inferno, (Ego) kit. After about a month or two of the 510 batts dying all the time I got an Ego kit too. I liked it, in fact it's what I'm using now. I'm looking to make the step into the world of mods in the next month or so, but IMO the Ego is a good start. What the other members have said is true. The Ego is pretty popular for the first upgrade. There are tons of them everywhere. Check out the links to suppliers further down the forum main screen. Shop around, there are tons of choices and prices, so don't drop cash on the first thing you see because you might be over paying for it.

Secondly Beans, WalksWithWifi and Renzuli are right. It is all about finding what works best for you. I can't believe how many products have come out in just the past year. It can be overwhelming, trust me. What type of atty to use, high res, low res, tank, cart.... If you haven't started pulling out your hair yet good for you. :) My advice is this. Look around check out other posts and hear what everybody is saying. There is a PV out there for you and when you find it the angels will start singing. That's how I was when I went from a 510 PCC kit to the Ego and I hope that's what will happen when I buy my first mod.

I will offer testimony to the e-power. Great and versatile device. You can use 510 cartos or any other with the proper adapter (about 3-4 bucks). Battery lasts all day long and is somewhat regulated. Pair this with some 1.5 ohm dual cartomizers and you'll get a nice thick cloud of vapor that resembles smoking.

your problem with cig20 right now is likely due to shorting the batteries with some small amount of juice...im assuming you are using auto kr808 batteries ...the epowe is manual and you wont have that issue since the battery is sealed

The eGo is suggested a lot, because it's a good PV. Good price point, good battery life, and it comes in a 510 connection. I started with a kr808 (the Volt) and was not satisfied, mostly because the batteries only lasted a couple of hours before needing to be recharged. The eGo lasts me all day on one charge.

Just so you know, the VMod will not juice feed without the proprietary atomizer.

Also, to the OP, an eGo with 2ohm Boge cartos is a reasonably priced, satisfactory place to start.

The eGo is a great intro to vaping. Later on you will want bigger and better things, but I bet you would keep your eGo's for back up just like the rest of us. Matter of fact right now I am dripping in a hotrod atty that is on one of my old eGo bats, even tho' the fancy mod is standing right next to it.
Most of those that get the other stuff to start with toss them out when they get their big boy toys.

If you want a similar model (same threading, may be identical) - BUY MANUAL BATTERIES. Auto batteries and refilling cartomizers do not mix well. It only take a tiny bit of juice inside an auto battery to make the drag switch sticky and then they will turn off very slowly after your drag and waste power. Worse case you short it and kill it. The SmokelessImage Volt manual batteries (only available in some colors) have a totally sealed threaded end and a tiny partially recessed button. The Vapor4Life manuals should be mostly sealed inside the threaded end hole on the manuals and have a more standard size button. These are agreat model if you want the option of prefilled cartomizers and full 3.7v power in a slim ecig.

If you want something bigger but much longer charge life and the ability to use hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizer (mainly blanks) then look at Joye brand Ego or the popular clone Riva 510 (the model Liberty-Flights.com has which is the new model from the correct manufacturer which is 3.7v, higher voltage than Ego - and press their 20% off upper left front page before shopping - that will cause the prices to be shown as the lowered prices)

I agree about the E-power. I have several different PV's and the Epower has become my go-to device for ease and battery life. I have both sizes, but the 18650 is my favorite. Hoosier Ecig Supply carries them in both the bare-bones model without all the extras and the full kit. Either size model should be good for a starter.

Good luck on your adventure !

Here's a handy tip - my adblocker blocks that 20% off button. Might be wise to turn an adblocker off before visiting liberty-flights.
