Hello all :) I am new here and just looking for advice on how to use all my new goodies! I bought an Ego, some sample juices, a vision clearomizer with the 4-long wicks? (not sure about the name but hopefully you understand), and a metallic drip tip. I want to try the different flavors out but for some reason the drip tip and atomizer have a really weird taste. The clearomizer is awesome but is it okay to use different flavors in the clearomizer? How do I get rid of this taste in the atomizer or drip tip? Not sure which it is but it tastes like burning plastic. Super gross! Any advice is helpful!! Thanks in advance :)

I believe its the atomizer (black thing that screws into the battery?) But the metallic drip tip has a weird smell that may be producing the taste too? The clearomizer is awesome but idk if it's okay to switch juices? I'd really like to be able to use the drip tip but the taste is nauseating.
Can you post pic or maybe a link to your item you bought?

You can wash your drip tip... but I would like to know what exactly you are talking about... :).

Hi Jess. Still don't know what you have... kind of need to see inside. Anyway, does it have white filling (carto), or can you see an arched wire mesh thing (atty) or is it flat inside at the bottom (de-bridged atty)? Where did you buy it?

Anyway, there are some methods of cleaning, but as far as I know, once a cato is burnt, that is the end. The taste will never go even after boiling. As for an atty, I think there are some methods of cleaning and dry burning, but I have no experience.

If it is an atty and you are dripping... why are you doing this? is there a reason? IMO, it is MUCH easier for noobs to use cartos. Dripping is more for tasting new juices and helpful for people who DIY their own juice and need to do a lot of tasting. There are some people who only drip... but they are few. Clearos, cartos and tanks are the more common ways to vape.

I am sure the bad taste is from you burnt atty (or carto, whatever it is) not from the driptip.

Hi Dragon,

Thanks for your reply! It's got the arched wire mesh thing for sure. It came with my EGO kit. It was new out of the package so could it still already be burnt? I also blew out the primer fluid I'm guessing and the taste still remains. I'm just a wuss and can't get over it I guess.

I bought the drip tip to try out my samples that I bought to find out which ones I like. I went to a local Vapor shop (bought the samples online before I knew this place was close) and had a lady help me and she told me not to use cartos but had me get a Vision Clearomizer and I bought a 30ml bottle of liquid that I liked but I'd still like to try the samples, but wasn't sure if I could mix together in the clearomizer without being able to get rid of a taste I might not like. Again thanks for all your help!

Also Jess. Those metal drip tips sometimes leave a taste.
Try either delrin drip tip or stainless.
Plastic ones are not my favorite but they might even be better than whatchu got.
Vape on & welcome to ECF.

Thanks so much!! I wasn't sure which drip tip was best and that was one of the more expensive ones so I though it might be better, but I guess not! Thanks for your input :) I will look around at the ones you suggested and pick one up! I'm eager to try my samples!! Lol.

it sounds like your atomizer might be burnt... I doubt any of that taste is coming from the tip.. you can rinse the drip tip out with hot water then run a paper towel or qtip through it and that should clean it... you shouldn't be able to smell or taste anything on the drip tip after that. i've used a bunch of the anodized aluminum drip tips and they have never left a taste in my experience.

if you want to switch juice in your clearomizer you can just take it apart and clean it... not sure which version you have but they can be disassembled and cleaned with hot water, or pure grain alcohol or vodka... i think vodka or PGA would be best because they evaporate quickly and don't leave any taste behind...

Thanks for your advice!! I'll look into the videos for sure. I have the Clearomizer withe the 4 long wicks on each side? Not sure of the version or what not. My question is can atomizers come out of the package burnt?? It was literally brand new. Thanks!

not sure if they could come out of the package burnt or not, i've never had that happen to me. i've had ones out of the package that didn't light at all though... BUT, if it didn't have enough liquid in it the first time you fired it up you could have burnt it on the first hit... if you really wanna mess around with it, you can try soaking it in vodka or pure grain alcohol over night, blow it out a few times (from the battery end) in the morning , drop like 6-8 drops (do 3-4 drops first, then wait about a minute, then do another 3-4) of juice in there and try it again... if you don't wanna mess with that, just toss it and move on :)
