Right now I am still smoking but trying to find an e-cig that's closet to a Marlboro light and not too terribly expensive. I love the njoy disposable size and weight, but it has 3% nicotine and hurts my throat. I also like the Green Smoke it's much longer and heavier than a traditional cigarette and I believe I was smoking 1.8% which also hurt my throat. I tried the FIN recently which is a 1.6% and it seemed to not hurt my throat but tastes horrible. I guess I should add that I would like a rechargeable (or disposables you can buy in store) that you do NOT have to refill yourself. Just a plain old two-piece e-cig with no fancy flavors. Any suggestions?:vapor:

get a vision spinner 1300 mah, kanger t3, and some juice of your choice. Im really enjoying halo's juices right now (torque55/midnight apple) Id suggest something with a high throat hit at least the first two weeks after cigs. I started with 18mg Kamol from myvaporstore.com and also ordered the double vision spinner kit. Their customer support and shipping has been great.

PS Ive been a smoker for 8 years and at least a pack a day before I started vaping. it has litteraly changed my life. Whenever I craved a cig I would just vape until i didn't want one anymore. Now I just cant wait to get my hands on new mods and flavors.

Hey, gnd, welcome to ECF.

Hmmm, where to start? Let's start with the "hurts my throat" issue. The vapor from an electronic cigarette is different from the smoke that a cigarette (called analogs here) makes. Many beginners experience the same thing that you are. It took you a while to adjust to smoking, and it will take some time to adjust to vaping. Just give it some time. It gets much easier and better.

Realize that you DON"T HAVE TO INHALE vapor to absorb the nicotine. Nearly all of the nicotine in vapor is absorbed in the mouth and nose, very little in the lungs. You may need to adjust your draw technique, too. No deep, straight to the lungs shots...at least not at first. Long and slow draws work best into the mouth...hold it...and then you have the option to inhale a little...or exhale it through your mouth and nose. Think sucking on a straw in a thick milkshake. Holding the vapor in your mouth for a couple of seconds will give you the nicotine you need.

Drink plenty of water. This will keep your throat moist and help with the harshness your now experiencing. The liquids in the e-juice draw water from our cells, so you need to replace that water loss.

I'll give suggestions on vaping gear a little later.

I know you want something that looks like a cigarette. That's sort of expected when starting out. But nearly every one on this forum will tell you that the "cigalikes" will prove to be extremely disappointing to you. Short battery life, the need to carry several batteries with you for a day's outing, poor vapor. My recommendation is to skip this class of battery and move up a step to an eGo battery (cigar size). Once you get over the cigalike need, you'll find a much better vaping experience.

If you absolutely have to have a cigalike, the only one that I'd recommend would be Smokeless Image Volts. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Image Electronic Cigarettes - The Future is in your hands This is a popular and trustworthy company that won't rip you off. It's who I started out vaping with. They sell the cigalikes that you are looking for and also the pre-filled cartridges of juice.

Should decide to go with a Smokeless Image starter kit, and later on should you decide to advance up to a larger battery, they have an eGo size battery called the X2, and a variable voltage X2 called the Spinner. All the gear they sell is intercompatible with each other, so there's no worry about what will connect/work with what. The only downside with their gear is that it is all 808 threaded. Most other vendor's products are 510 threaded.

What I REALLY RECOMMEND is a setup like this: A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vapor

Welcome gnd1976,
If you are set on the e cig a like, have you checked out the "Walmart" cig?
:2c:
Started with the traditional 1.2%, and thought they were very close to the Joe Camel light. Found out quick the cost for carts was a little steep. But where there is a Walmart, there are carts. (Heard they are also doing a Mistic Black soft tip, but have not tried them yet.) Info from this forum showed me how to refill their carts, with different flavors. Still carry a fully charged set in the car, for those days that a couple of Evods can't get me through.

^^^And this too, but really look into the ego's. I thought I needed was the cig size too but the ego's aren't that much bigger but they LAST sooo much longer. I use their t- 1100 but thinking about a twist as soon as my bank account will let me.

I understand you not wanting to fill your own cartidges (cartomizers) being new, probably a convenience thing. But often times the pre-filled cartridges can be unsatisfactory. Just like the disposable e-cigs...who knows how long they've been on the self? Same with pre-filled cartridges...who knows how long ago they were filled.

I started with these, too, and they were ok for about the first week. I had also gotten some empty cartos and some bottled e-liquid. I watched a video on how to properly fill the carto, tried it, and guess what? It was WAY better in flavor and vapor production. It is also cheaper to buy your own liquid in bottles and empty cartomizers, or called blanks. Hardly anyone who has been vaping for 2 -4 months continues to buy pre-filled.

Ok so here's my latest update. I bought the 1.8% disposable mistic which weren't too bad. They were the cigalike I wanted but I still had to draw a little too hard, especially after a few uses. So I bought the rechargeable and was pretty annoyed that they were NOT the same size as the disposables. No help at all from customer service except to confirm that yes indeed the disposables wer not the same size as a cigarette. DUH!!!! So I bought 1.2% and the do NOT hurt my throat. YAAAAYYYY!!!!! Still not cigalike size....Not sure if I will stick with this or try VOLT or V2 or Neo, as suggested. V2 I think is still a bit bigger than cig and Neo is only available in 1.8% or higher. Any other suggestions? Also, Has anyone tried to take Chantix, or something similar while vaping to reduce withdrawal and crankiness? LOL!
