Newbie/Lurker in need of recs

Hi All,

First, I've been lurking so I thought I'd say hi... Hi! I'm 33, a mom to an 18 month old, and discovering vaping has allowed me to kick my cigarette addiction. I haven't had a real cig in over 6 weeks and for me, that's nothing short of miraculous.

Second, I've been using Blu and I'm getting really frustrated with it, so I'm hoping someone can give me some recommendations for something better.

I like Blu because it's easy. I can just buy the cartridges, screw them into the battery, and viola. Handling liquid and filling my own is a bit intimidating to me. I also like blu because of the size. It's almost like an actual cigarette.

What frustrates me is that the batteries are pretty junky. I'll charge them fully and have them conk out on me after 20 minutes of use. It also seems that the cartridges (I know I'm probably not using the right terminology here) only seem to give me maybe 10 good puffs and then the vapor noticeably depletes. It's been expensive because of that.

Can anyone recommend a brand that is similar to blu, but better?

a spinner or ego twist battery with a clearomizer like the evod will work great. night and day from the blue oh welcome to the forums. congrats on the little one.

i started with Premium and then V2, both of which are similar to Blu, I think. They are all frustrating after a bit and a big money drain.

Once you get over the "looks like a cigarette" mentality, there are far better options. For starters, the money you save will help the young one's college fund... Filling with liquid is easier than you imagine. I'm somewhat disabled and can do it with one hand and I only started with e-cigs about a month ago.

Just speaking the truth here, the cigarette-size batteries are all going to disappoint you. They just are not powerful enough to last a decent amount of time or to provide a decent vape from start to finish. The sooner that you can get over the "size thing" the sooner you can enjoy something better and more satisfying. The bare minimum size I would suggest for you would be a 650 mAh size eGo type battery like the one in the below picture with a mini Vivi Nova tank. Would that be "too large" or look too much NOT like a cigarette?

Here is a picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices. The clearomizer tanks such as a Vivi Nova or Evod or ProTank are extremely easy to fill and use. Filling your own juice delivery devices from bottled e-juice is not difficult at all, as you can see from the above videos in the link I provided. It only takes a minute for something that can last you all day.

Something to keep in mind: You are no longer a smoker. You are a vapor. What you use does NOT need to look like a cigarette. In fact, the farther away you get from a cigarette-looking device the better it will satisfy your nicotine addiction. Don't be concerned about what "others" might think about your personal vaporizer, what matters is that you have kicked a deadly habit.

Congrats on quitting the smokes. You are about to be buried with good advice, there are so many options. Read a lot here and then jump right in with the rest of us when you see something you think might be up your alley! There are so many choices but fortunately you really can't go wrong as long as it keeps you off the cigs.

It's a conundrum. I started with Blu and liked it for the same reason, however it didn't allow me to actually quit, it wasn't satisfying me as much.. I went into a local brick and mortar and got to try out an eGo style battery on a clearomizer.. wow. I haven't smoked since, two weeks yesterday. The size is rather large, it's not like the Blu, but with a smaller size battery like the Spinner 650/900mah are a very decent size. You can get all sorts of delivery devices, small, large, but you will need to fill any of them at some point. Depending how much you vape, a decent sized tank might last you most of the day, but usually you'd have a couple with you, filled and ready, then fill them whenever.

I don't know of any cig-a-likes that are comparable to that sort of setup, but from what I've gathered, Blu is famously low-end. I've seen people mention the V2's but I have no experience with them.

The best thing to do, if possible, is to go into a b&m and have a chat with the people there. Generally veteran vapers like talking about different options and helping out beginners, this forum is further proof of that

Hi. Congrats on quitting smoking. Nonsmokers probably will never understand how hard it is to quit. I'm a noob myself but have been immersing myself in this ecig business for the past several days. I finally decided, after almost going blind reading forums and watching youtube videos, to go with a Halo Triton. However, Halo also sells the G6, which is more traditional cigarette looking pv-- or personal vaporizer. The starter kits are reasonably priced, mine was like $69 and apparently their e-liquid is fairly good. I would encourage you to go to their website, google halo ecig; and look around. IMHO the Halo Triton is a good buy, the website is one stop shopping for everything and is pleasing to the eye. Anyway, good luck....

Good advice has been given. Luckily I came here before I bought anything. I started with a 1200 may battery and clearomizers.
