Howdy you-all,

Well, I got off the analogues using convenience store disposable e-cigs. Expensive and not easy considering the quality of the disposables.

Then I tried checking out the rating sites and got very confused. Each rating site seemed to like different products and companies. I think some of these sites must get paid by the suppliers?

Then I made the move and got a deluxe ProSmoke starter kit because it was the size of the disposables and it got an excellent rating from one of the bigger sites and had the most favorable reviews. I got my kit and followed the instructions and FAQ info. to the letter. I think I can still read and follow instructions.

Well not one good puff. Hmmm, now that I know more about ecigs it seems I got a bad charger which meant my batteries never got enough juice to work the atomizer properly. Then the first pre-filled cartridge I tried was dry so I burnt the atomizer. Next I got a cart that was overflowing and flooded the atomizer and got a mouth full of fluid. At this point my one atomizer was fried and I had batteries that were dead after about 20 puffs. :?:

Oh well, Newbie mistakes and lessons learned. ProSmoke did give me a full refund after I sent the kit back.

Now I am on to the ego-T type A with the 1000 mah batteries, some extra tanks, covers, atomizers and a couple of bottles of juice.

We will see if I can get that to work for me.

I will let you know once I get the batteries charged.

OH
Sorry :(

Welcome to ECF, it's a great place to learn about vaping. Make sure you look around, and then ask any questions - people will be glad to answer.

Your story, unfortunately, is very common. Some, like you, end up finding better options and keep at it. My fear is that a lot more people end up disgusted and discouraged and write vaping off.

The problem is that those "rating" sites you talk about are simply a marketing trick. They do not have real info or real reviews and derive revenue from affiliate codes. And the type of vendor they usually link to is a scam type operation that usually sells old / bad / poorly performing gear. You are very lucky to have gotten a refund!

The atomizer-cart is no longer a reasonable option, yet they keep selling them to newbies without warning of how tricky and fiddly they can be. They also usually have low quality atomizers, anyway.

To a certain extent, the tricky / fiddly notion applies to the atomizer-tank setup like the one you now have (Ego-T). Many people end up using it with success, but there are a lot of others who dislike it because it can be tricky to keep using it without leaks and dry hits. If that happens to you, do not get discouraged! The battery you have can be used with other setups as well. You have a choice of all the "510 threaded" attachments out there. Keep in mind low resistance cartomizers - these may be the most reliable type of vaping, and at some point, you might use regular atomizers for dripping (useful for testing flavors)...

Good luck.

Hiya fisher,

I was up in Maryland a year ago (Deep Creek Lake), picking up what I thought was going to be a standard poodle puppy. (Instead of ONE, I got TWO of'em.) Beautiful country up thar! :D

It was the Ego-T (type A and B) that allowed me to move away from analogs, but two months in, leaking issues with the tanks finally got the best of me. I still love those ego batteries, but instead of the tank, I top it with either Stardust Cartos (good taste, great vape, easy fill and fuss free), a Stone tank or Fluxomizers; all fit well on ego batts. Once I found my 'setup', life is good! :)

Glad you found ECF. GOOD LUCK and stay connected to the folks here! (If you need some extra ego-T tanks, I'll be glad to send you my extras. PM me if/when you're interested. ;))

LiteCigUSA has them for $4.95 each, and they seem to last a long time for me. I'm getting between 6 to 8 weeks before they either fall apart or pop a coil. They come as either Standard Resistance (SR) or Low Resistance (LR). I like both, but my preference is LR.

Gotvapes.com sells them as 'Stardusts' (this is where I usually buy my gear, but they are closed for web site work until Saturday).

Mountain Vapor also sells them, but are currently SOLD OUT.

Hey...I LOVED my Ego-T, so use those things til they make you nuts...THEN move on! :)

I'm thinkin' I'll have to order the new Ego TWIST batt, to see how I like it. I'll always have ego batts with something attached; so easy to use when on the move. I also have a Lavatube (VV).

EDIT: Poodles are so smart, it's sometimes scary!

OK folks,

I am really new.

I am assuming that you-all are talking about low resistance cartomizers and I need to get up to speed on them and figure out which ones will work with my ego-T. I have two of the 1000 batteries and two of the standard 680. But at this point I am only guessing about what you are telling me. I have two packs of the standard atomizers and I am assuming that the cartomizers have higher performance atomizers built into them.

Yes..LR = Low Resistance = warmer vape and more 'fog'

Your Ego batteries all have what is known as 510 connections, and all suggestions above (by everybody) are recommendations for cartos with 510 connections, so they will fit your 1000mah, as well as your 650mah. (atomizers ARE "built into them)

Being "new" can be frustrating, but you'll look back on this time as one of the most INTERESTING of your life...cuz you're about to learn more than you ever wanted to know, and you're going to enjoy the results! :)

Ain't no such thing as a dumb question, so don't hold back. We're here to help, because we've been where you are, and we know what helped US get where we are. One thing about vapers that I've noticed...we're PASSIONATE about what works for US, and we want to share it! ;)
