I have been lurking on this forum for a while and guess I will use this opportunity to introduce myself before I ask for some advice.
I started out with a cheap starter kit from a local convenience store, was hooked right away, knew I didn't want analogs ever again...however, I found that it was unreliable and inconvenient - there wasn't enough stock in the store, only maybe 2 in the pack of 5 cartomizers would work, etc. That's when I hit the internet, found this forum, bought a starter kit, liquids, and other accessories...but I will always give credit to that junk starter kit that first got me started.
My last analog was in November. My cough disappeared, I breathe better...I just feel better and healthier - I started jogging, joined a gym last month, my bf and son love that I don't smell anymore...and I can't stand the smell on other people now, lol.

So I'm here because I need advice on how to help get my friend started. She's ready and excited about vaping and wants me to order everything that I have that works for me. But I'm kind of unsure how to go about it for 2 different reasons:
#1 - If I ordered exactly what I use and consider essential, it would mean buying from 4 different stores, which could seem overwhelming to her: a starter kit from one store, the much faster wall charger from another store, cartomizers from a 3rd store, and liquids from a 4th.
#2 - I'm not sure that what works for me will work for her because I predominantly use the USB passthrough at the computer or with my adapter in the car...she will have no use of a passthrough (no car, no computer) which means she'll have to rely on batteries that will keep a longer charge. My current batteries are simple KR808d-1 240 mah(or so, can't remember exact) which I have to keep in constant rotation for charging. I'm afraid that might become inconvenient and a bit of a pain for her.

So I'd been thinking of not only getting her a starter kit that is 600 or 900+mah, but also having her try something in the 510 line (which I am looking into getting for myself in the near future) because accessories seem to be more widespread and less limited in that category. But then it will be different from what I have and if she has any issues with it, I really won't be able to help her out (not that I know everything about what I have but at least I have a little experience with it)...and she had specifically asked me to get what I know works for me.

What would you do? What starter kits would you recommend?

Good on you for getting started and hooking your friend as well.
Whether she realises it or not, your doing her a favour. Well done.

I got my friend interested by just giving him one of my ecigs to use (kr808) one night and when he realised he hadn't had a cigarette in over 8 hours he was excited and wanted me to help him out ordering the stuff too.

My mate didn't know about ecigs at all except for the 808 he'd used and he was naturally very happy with it because he had seen that its effective. I did make a point to show him that there were larger models around with better battery life, but he was happy with the cig sized unit, even though he wanted it to be black with blue LED's so it didn't look just like a cig.

Maybe you could both go online one day and look for bargains and order the stuff together.

Of course if your friend is like mine then you may have to just get everything for her and then just teach her how to use it.

It's almost guaranteed that she'll decide that there's things she'll want improved about her whole vaping experience and that's why people upgrade and try new accessories. You can't, and she won't know what those things are until she just gets into it.

For the 808 style devices I'd recommend smokeless image's volt batteries. They're awesome and super simple. Don't bother with a joye 510 for the small ecig.

If something a little larger is ok with her, a riva is a nice model that looks like an eGo but it's better for a few reasons.

You're probably going to have to hold her hand. FYI I bought an 808 kit with 3 batteries and a personal charging case for my mate. I got him 20 cartos and gave him some of my juice as well just to get him started.
He paid for the kit and the cartos, the juice samples were my gift do he'll have variety and learn what he likes and prevent him from getting bored.

I showed him how to refill cartos and where I get my juice and nic from.

He's as happy as a pig in mud and I know he'll want to buy tons of juice and stuff soon which is great. He said he'll tell me when he does and I'll be tacking some things on the order too so we'll get free shipping too.

Don't worry too much about whether she'll like it or not, you already know that she will, let her decide where she wants to take it.
Good job so far.

I just got my younger brother started. What I found to be very important was to get him onto something reliable and tasty with HIGH nic.

I had him order a kgo starter kit, some boge 2 ohm cartos, and a small assortment of alien visions juice just to start with. The kgo is an 1100 mah battery that just works. It hits at a higher voltage under load (around 3.8+ on a fresh charge), the boges give really good flavor, and there isn't much learning curve, and I love AVE juice. It is plenty strong for him at 18 mg.

Anyways, that will be a great, affordable solution to get him going. If he decides later he wants to step up to something bigger or with VV, he will still have a great backup.

How much do they or you want to spend?

You can get the Riva lite bundle at Liberty Flights for $29.99. Another $20 for juice and a box of cartomizers.

Sweet-Vapes has the Riva cartomizer kit for $39.00. You'd just have to get juice.

+1 for Riva. I've never used Sweet-Vapes, but did get my Riva from Liberty Flights...fast shipping and I loved my Riva Special Edition. It came with 2 atomizers, which are great for dripping to try new flavors. Picked up a pack of Boge2.0 cartomizers also, they are more convenient once you are sure you like a particular juice.

Good luck to your friend and congratulations to you! Welcome to ECF!:)
