Hi, I'm a new Reo user. I purchased my Reo off of the classifieds. You may have seen my recent post about me melting a spring, but I got a shortstop in the mail today so I have been playing with the reo.

I noticed some weird behavior when using phoenixes.. Some of them didn't want to fire, others fired fine. None of them have any problems on my provari. I am taking Robert's advice and I bought an unsealed adapter. This adapter should work fine when I get my A7 in the mail, correct?

Anyways, back on track.. I noticed that there is a fair amount of play when my atomizer is screwed in. It wobbles back and forth if I apply a gentle amount of pressure. Is this normal..? I have tried different atomizers and cartomizers, and they all have this issue.

Yes, that is normal. If it really bothers you, you can put a small O-Ring on the atty right above the threading. Or, you overtighten the atty onto the REO causing your gasket to crack and short your REO, but it will make your atty not wobble. I do not recommend that method, but do try out the O-Ring trick.

EDIT: Possible tip, I place my drip tip on my atty before I put it on my REO. I use the Drip Tip to screw in my atty and stop when the drip tip spins inside the atty. This is done after lubing the O-Ring of the drip tip with juice and only with drip tips that fit fairly loose in my atties. For reference, I generally only use half of threading on my atties. You only need to make the metal touch, not grind it in there.

I wonder if you are having some of these problems because you are using the same attys on two different devices that are built to two different specs with regards to the atty connection? I've read that different devices have center posts that protrude out further (or not as much) as the atty connection on the Reo. Being used to the Provari, and then getting a Reo may be causing this for you.

I've only had a Reo and have never had a single problem with it. Based on advice from the forum here, I have never screwed the atty down tight, and it does wobble very slightly, but then again, every screw wobbles slightly in a bolt that is not tightened down tightly.

It might help to think about this from a manufacturer's perspective. They have to build a device with an atty connection that will fire the atty when there are a multitude of atty's out there. some of which have center posts that stick out, some flush and some that don't stick out far enough. So you do the best you can, knowing that it is practically impossible to get perfect.

Let me just say I only recommend using the 510 to 510 adapter with the phoenix atomizer . On a standard atomizer it can and will bust a gasket in your mod if you over tighten it . Why they make adapters like this I will never no . The general rule is to put a adapter on your atomizers before you install it on your mod . The center pin on the adapter should look just like a standard 510 atomizer .
