"Newbie" Returns to vaping with much confusion

Hello all, It has been a long time. (almost 2 whole years) I originally started vaping to reduce the amount I was smoking. Got ripped off at a mall kiosk for about 200 dollars(smoke 51 trio) and discovered this fine establishment. Based on the information the wonderful members on this site provided, I chucked the trio and acquired a joye 510 starter set. As time went on, I found myself "dripping" with a usb passthrough in my car more and more (better sensation for me) and filling my cartridges less and less. Then I got lazy and instead of topping my 510 every few puffs, I only used the pt in my car and after a while the pt ended up in the glove box, and the manual and auto batteries ended up in a drawer never to see daylight again. Fast forward 2 years and I have my 1st child on the way and the easiest way to cover the extra $150 in inevitable health insurance premiums increase is to quit smoking. *duh* Luckily, I am very good personal friends with my family doc and he suggests I try the wonderful drug CHANTIX. Two weeks later and I have no withdrawls but I do find myself wanting a smoke every once in a while. I call him up and he says why don't you try e-cigs? I know alot of my patients use them and they work well. I think yeah why didn't I think about that. then I remember I am a member on here and was curious what kind of new e-flavs are available. After almost 2 hours of bouncing around the web and blindly chasing links, ALOT HAS CHANGED!!!!!!!Used to be a couple CR-batt mods, Bigg AZZ smoke sticks and the IMO too popular not really understood the convenience of JUICEBOXes. I now see: DRIP TIPS====why the hell didn't I think of that!!!!!!Multi-variant Voltage battstank-style cartos?Hoping somebody has a "new" tutorial to get me back into the game without losing my mind and my bankroll.Sorry bout the "book" have been a long-time post scrounger but I believe this is my first post here. Also, Has e-juice popularity decreased the prices at all? I remember paying around 30 for 20ml bottle of Bourbon and I think the wicked Black label used to be closer to 50.Thanks muchMetalliman

Yes, plenty has changed.

So, what are you looking to get from your vapor? What was the worst part when you vaped before? What is your "dream" setup?

And, yes, juice prices have come down a bit...

Also, if you liked dripping, but found it a PITA when driving, like me, then this puppy might be a great addition to your equipment.

I have to agree that if you were a dripper then a juice box/bottom feeder drip on demand type might be the way to go. That being said carts and cartos have come a long way in selection, resistances, and capacity (vapor and flavor too). It would be best to hear what you're looking for size wise, price point, and all that.

Welcome back. I did the same thing, not visiting for a long time. It's mind-boggling how much things have changed.
I've been making my own juice, but it looks like prices have remained stable and may have gone down a bit. I always had considered about $0.50-0.60/ml the rule of thumb and that's about where most of them are now for sizes less than 30 ml.

Do yourself a favor and use those insurance savings to get a really good mod this time, rather than a starter type unit. Spend $100 or so on a bulletproof mod and you won't stick it in the glovebox. My Baby Bullet has been going strong for almost 2 years now, and I still love it despite being seduced by the Darwins and Provari's out there. Can't give you a tutorial to save your mind, but as far as your wallet goes you're gonna have to give it up if you want something that you'll be happy and STAY happy with. You might be happy with a $40 kit for awhile, but I'll guarantee you that in 6 months you'll end up with something else. Might as well spend the money now while it has the most effect on your ability to quit.

I started with a very disappointing small kit, all that was available around here, locally. Now, with the help of this forum, I realize that if you don't see what you want, you can mod or make what you want. Anything from 'top dollar', which most of us don't have, to 'YouTube' vids to make a USB passthrough. Amazing, 5 volt supply in front of most everyone, (at the computer) 2 wires and a switch. And of course anything in between.
Good luck with this attempt (I have tried most everything as well), and this forum is always here for support!
