After browsing non stop here the last week or so, figured its time to sign up and make a standard "Hi, I'm new here" post.

live in so cal, attempting to kick these cancer sticks I've built to a level of 1.5 packs of cowboy killers a day. With no knowledge or research, started off with an xhale x6 starter kit. Screwed up the batter after 2 weeks ignoring the advice of the manual to not plug it into a cell phone USB charger...oops. Fortunately got it for a real cheap deal. Back to cigs for a few weeks like an idiot.

last week I bought a kts mech mod kit. Stumbled upon here after being completely clueless and doing some googling. Went and replaced the stock atomizer with a nimbus clone. I did get the kts for quite a deal but wish I'd of done researching and opted for a hcigar nemesis or sting ray clone. But the kts is doing its job for the time being. Have a newborn so getting the originals is quite unlikely so will probably dabble with clones for a while.

So far massively cut back on the cancer sticks so that's a plus. Really enjoy the flavors of juices. Dislike some of the cronies in b&m shops eg: "you're going to drip 18mg??" -yes I'm focused on quitting chain smoking, not sitting in a vape store all day looking cool blowing clouds (no offense to anyone that does it here lol).

tl;dr.

Cliffs:
first mech mod
enjoy it
massively cut back on the cancer sticks to a few a day

Welcome to ECF! There is a lot of knowledge here which I am sure you have discovered since you have been lurking around for a week of so. Keep it up. I quit from first vape, but was only about a 3/4 pack a day smoker. Many have taken awhile to beat the analogs. Just keep it up. I agree with Sthur on the additional set up for on the go. I use a Innokin VV with a Kanger Aerotank. It is a good set up and not too terribly costly. I will probably give you a much better vapor experience than the ego's. The Kanger tanks are popular and are glass so you don't have to worry about what juice you are using (some are plastic tank crackers). Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the welcoming. I used something similar to a e go battery and tank set up for a few days actually. I did enjoy it but I'm in and out of my truck all day for work so broke it quickly. The kts has been working well and the vape created with the nimbus atty is working wonders. I work for a beer company so probably will do someone bartering for another mech mode and another rebuild able atty soon lol

Doc, Welcome to ECF!

Hopefully soon, you'll be satisfied enough with your starter kit, that was the case with me, was down to half a pack.

You may wish to bump the nic up to 24mg, as I did. 18mg wasn't quite enough for me to quit analogs, but 24mg was. I highly recommend that you keep 2-3 flavors on hand so that you won't suffer from burnout on one flavor. This also serves to make the other e-juices have that like new taste every time.

All the Best,
Cat

to ecf. Try not to be to hard on yourself. I did both and kept cutting down til it got to the point I just preferred vaping. If you really want to do it, you can. Lots of information here for ya and you will never find a better group of people. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading about your vaping adventure. :)

Hi Doc, I'm new to ECF too. I vaped years ago when people were still dripping 9 drops into various types of stuffing in cartridges. I've been a heavy smoker for 40 years, 2 packs a day for 25 years. I got frustrated with the cartridge system and went back to analogs. I'm so surprised and excited by the advancements in the technology over the past few years. I just picked up an itaste vv 3.0 and a half dozen flavours of 24 mg. juice I haven't touched an analog in the past week! Hope it all works well for you.

Well, only took about 10 hours of indecisiveness and toggling between ebay, FT, and vaperoyalty to opt for a brass string ray clone and matching drip tip by infinite. Probably going to run my nimbus clone I had bought from a b&m for now (side note:I paid 27 for it and saw the exact same non engraved one on FT for about $6 grrr lol).

I have a random battery that came with my kts kit, all it says is "hgb18650 2200mah" is this fine to run in the set up? I'll most likely be getting a efest or Sony one many use on here this week but in case I don't get around to it.

Echo that. Don't be afraid to vape 24mg if it helps you quit analogs. You can always adjust later if you want. I still mix my juices at 24mg.

Welcome to the forum. I was a 50 year pack a day smoker. been vaping a month. I am still hanging on to 2 cigarettes a day. Mostly because I have a carton on hand. But I always think about the 18 a day I am not smoking. It just takes some of us to time get comfortable with the idea of vaping exclusively. We will get there. Just hang in there ! :)

How safe it is depends on the resistance of your build, the amp limit of your battery and who the battery is made by. I don't recognize HGB.
