Hi
I am now newly retired and new to vaping
I was gifted an Aspire mini Pegasus + e nictoine by concerned relative - have stopped smoking cigarettes completely now. This is a miracle in itself.
Q. What wattage should I set the Aspire to?

Wattage like flavors and devices per user are all subjective to the end user, there is no silver bullet setting, just a guideline of how to reach vape nirvana given your devices and flavors you use.

1) Thoroughly prime the coil head wicking material, not flooding it with a pool of liquid just saturate it well, then fill and assemble the tank, let sit for about 5 to 10minutes, to saturate further.
2) Set the watts low, generally starting between 10 to 20 watts depending on the coil resistance, take several unpowered puffs to make sure the coil is properly wicked, then in about 5 second hits take a few vapes, if the vape feels anemic up the watts some more.
3) After about 20minutes or so, bump the watts up another 5 to 10 watts, vape on that for about 20more minutes constant use, then again bump it up a couple notches, we are heating up and breaking in the engine gradually like a new car as an analogy, the coil and wicking need to be broken in gently, you have to do this with every new coil to extend their life and not burn them out immediately or prematurely.
4) Moment you get a dry scratchy vape, back the wattage down about 5 to 10 watts, that will be the sweet spot for that coil and juice combination, moment you get a scorched nasty hit, you've ruined the coil, take it out and replace with a new one, start at step 1 again.

What tank and coil do you have? I think the Mini Pegasus comes with a Triton Mini, so assuming you're using that with the most popular coil - 1.8 ohms - the recommended wattages above would be too high (though the rest of the advice is very good). You'd probably want to start at 5 or 6 watts and increase by 1 or 2 watts at a time. I vape the Triton Mini 1.8 ohm coil at 8 to 9 watts.

If that isn't the setup you're using, start by checking the coil. Recommended wattages are usually printed right on it (although you might need a magnifying glass to read them). The recommendations are often exaggerated, so it's best to start well below the bottom number and gradually work your way up from there until you like what you get.

Good luck, and congratulations!

Welcome @appletree
You can experiment. Most coils (atomizer heads) have a working-in-real-life ideal range of watts.
I would say that experience tells us most are not capable of the optimistic top end stated by the manufacturer. One of my favorite coils is supposedly capable of 100w. yeh... well... make that 50w and maybe you might get it to last more than a few hours.

Congrats, and welcome. You've gotten some good wattage advice, and depending on your tank there may be other factors, like amount of air (this is often adjustable) and will affect your vape. If you like a tighter, smaller vape you'll want less air, for an arier, easier draw, you may want to open the airflow more. Also, depending on what you are using in the tank, that may affect wattage= I have to use pure PG as I'm allergic to VG. In 1.8 coils, I have a higher wattage (I use the Nautilus 2 tank) but if I use the 0.7 coils, I don't change the wattage one bit. I do burn through batteries a bit more quickly, but not necessarily more juice. So, there are many variables, but you can certainly start with wattage, and see where you end up (it may be FAR less than the "recommended wattage.) Heck, when I was trying to figure that out, the clerk in my B&M store read me the listed wattage on my coil, having never vaped that high, my next question was "I don't actually HAVE to vape it at that, do I? Because, I don't think I COULD." LOL, he was fine with saying, "You can vape it at whatever wattage you WANT." I appreciated that as I was buying juice, and if he'd answered otherwise I would have been scorching my throat AND burning through juice like crazy.

That said, there's really no "right" answer do what works for you, just don't vape it OVER the recommended wattage, that would suck. Knowing your tank would probably be helpful if you wanted more specifics, but experimenting for yourself is totally fine.

Welcome and glad you joined from another retired.
May want to watch You Tube by Googeling " Youtube:Aspire mini Pegasus ". Vape for a while and readjust upward or downward (usually downward for my type of device) until flavor is at it's maximum.

I was never told to prep the coil this way. Thank you for that.
