Hi! I'm a Marlboro die hard fan, Lights and at times Reds. Sort of a heavy smoker from 10 to a pack a day. I'm trying to quit and I've been thinking of investing on an e-cig. I'm a bit overwhelmed though about all the choices. I was intrigued by the Blu but some reviews haven't been too good. eG0's are also one of the ones i'm looking into but i'm confused about the ego T vs ego C vs eLips. hope you guys can help me. thanks!

Hi Plastic, Welcome to the ECF.

From personal experience I enjoy the eGo style units. They have great battery life, a giagantic world of other options they can be used with like cartomizers, standard 510 attys, carto/tank mods and ce2 as well as a few other options. The eGo style units will give you the overall best(opinion) value for the money you will spend to get started. As far as the "t" and "c" the c is the newer and supposedly superior to older t design. The elipse is interesting but i have never tried one personally so no real input there. I have used the t units for many months both style a and b.
If I where starting today, knowing what I know now, my first purchase would include an eGo kit with 2 batteries, the c style atty combo, a package of 510 boge2.0 ohm cartomizers, and a few different tobacco flavors of eliquid around 18mg to get started. If you have any other questions , ask away. Thats why we are here. Good Luck. happy vaping.

To ECF. I can't help you on the Ego as I've never used one but like you I was a 10 Marlboro a day guy for many yrs. Well down to 10 for the last one and this place got me off them after a half century of smoking.

i was in your situation but i was smoking even more cigs. check out smokeless image 'volt' ecigs. i am digging mine. i suggest the starter kit that includes the portable charger and try the tobacco sampler cartridges. the 555 and ry4 flavor assisted in kicking my 20 year habit. honestly, the kit is simple, quality, good price and simple. worked for me:D long healthy life to you:vapor:

Hey Plastic! Welcome to ECF. I became interested in e-cigs because a friend had started with a Blu kit. He ended up pretty frustrated by short battery life and the hassle of replacement cartridges. After researching here for something 'better' yet EASY for a noob, I started with the Mega eGo-W from ecigsunlimited (skipping the T & C models) because it came with W/F-1/Eliq clearomizers. It was the best value for the money for me.

Knowing what I know now, I'd have gone ahead and ordered 4 or 5 extra clearos and some juice when I placed the order as it wouldn't have pushed the weight over the .5Kg minimum shipping charge.

p.s. I was a PAD 'Bro smoker (25+ years worth) and I haven't spent a dime on 'em since I started vaping. :D

I wrote a blog about it. You should read it. I know it's a little long but why not learn from my months of research in a few pages of reading?

Welcome! ^_^ I'm new myself, having just placed my first order. I went through the same thing yesterday, it IS so overwhelming at first (still is for me, a bit). I was lured in by the Blu too, but found better options after finding this place.

I can't help much on the ego, I went with something different. But let me tell you, one newb to another, that these people are awesome and very helpful!

The Elips isn't very popular so I would skip that one. Go for the eGo-C, it's a revamped eGo-T.

I'm a n00b, dropped analogs just one month ago for an Ovale eGo-C. Couldn't be happier. Tank systems are so easy to use, very convenient. The eGo-C is a solid product and has loads of parts & accessories on the market.

Just be sure to buy an Ovale/Joyetech kit or one of the rebranded units from official business partners (Totally Wicked, etc.)

Check joyetech.com for a list of authorized resellers.

Welcome Plastic! I was a newbie a while back ago (3 weeks now), smoked 1 PAD for 18 years. A friend turned me onto ecigs. I then began looking online for something better, more versatile and variety. I ended up going the the Halo G6 as my first choice of ecig. Then moved to the eGo-T, which I got from Volcano. Then wanted to up the power a bit, and longer battery so opted for a kGo which I purchased from Hoosier, and I haven't looked back yet :) I still use my G6 (which is a KRD808D-1 ) at work, as well as the kGo. I have noticed that both the eGo and kGo have A LOT of options to choose from, atty's, cartos, and more etc...and I am still in the process of learning it all, and being here on the ECF everyone is very friendly and always willing to help with any question you might have or come across, which is AWESOME!!!

The only bad thing I have come across since starting to vape, is I cannot decide which flavor is my most favorite! :D

So enjoy your time here, read and learn and as a teacher in school once told me, "There are no dumb questions!" Welcome to Vaping, and the ECF!!!

Going with a better battery model is a smart idea. But there are better options in the eGo size category. I would look at the E-Power 510, the Kgo 510 and the Riva 510. All three of these have better batteries than the ego that will last longer and provide more power to the atty/carto. The ego battery is only 3.4 volts where as these three are all 3.7 volts. The standard ego battery is 650 mAh, where as these three are all 1000+ mAh. The ego just does not stack up in this size model in comparison. Why settle for less?

Hi Iusedtoanalog,
I am also a newbe. I purchased a Ecigg starter kit and it lasted one day. The batter charger quit after three charges. After about four hours neither of the two cig. released any vapor, even after being charged. By the way how long should you charge the first time, after receiving the product? I would go to a store and ask all these questions, but the closest is a four hour drive. I'm really stumped. These just don't seem to work. The instructions didn't help at all.

thank you all for the warm welcome! Governa thanks for the insight on ego, I think I might fo for the ego-C even though it's a bit big but I like the flavors they have and it seems like a well designed and relatively sturdy product. Ideally I would like something with that vaping power in the size of a Blu. I will continue to read more and check out the other e-cig suggestions. thank you a ton!

Hi pastureannie, Im not the OriginalPoster but i would definately advise you to talk/correspond to your vendor and return/exchange the kit you have it seems you have malfunctioning equipment. This is why I advised the OP to pick up a trusted and recognized kit. The transition away from analogs is much easier once you have dependable equipment and liquid you enjoy. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

thanks! omg and all the flavors! i'm so excited and crazy about all the options, i just saw an apple pie flavored one! i need to find something tasting close to my marlboro but a different flavor would be nice as I feel if i were smoking something similar to a Marlboro I might want to cheat and smoke the real thing. would you recommend the kgo over the ego? what made you change brands?

I think you should just jump in feet first and get yourself a good Mod, like a Provape... Some Joye 510 LR atomizers and some good VG e-liquid....36mg nicotine of course...it really will satisfy the smoker in you............. I love Innovapors Ultrapue 100% VG 36mg e-liquid. Great vapor production........ I myself was a Marlboro Red then light smoker for 15 years, and have never looked back since i started vaping 2+ years ago.......
