Hey Wiz welcome aboard! I'm too new to help, but wanted to share your pain of anosmia. I've had it most of my life, the little scents that I do get usually cause me pain. This time of year those department store people spraying everyone just kill me! I've been sticking to tobacco and coffee juices, the fruit ones just feel gross. I'm surprised I do gets whiff of fruit and it's just nasty to me. Any specific juices you're into?

It's a real curse isn't it Podunk ? As you probably know, anosmiacs experience loss by both per centage of loss and/or curious abilities to smell only certain things ... or the 100 percenter loss victims like myself who can smell or taste absolutely nothing . I ordered only high nicotene tobacco e-juice and just from a recent advisory post ordered 10mgs of VG with no nicotene to dilute the 37 mg nicotene juice a bit. as to real drinking juices I can only feel via the operational taste buds the 'tang' of anything citrus but I couldn't tell you if I was drinking Cranberry, orange, grapefruit, etc ... I just feel the citrus 'twang' feeling.

Hi wiz I'm a pretty new vaper 6 weeks I use 25mg celtic menthol when I first tried it the throat hit was tremendous now I'm struggling with it I need something stronger

I just went to MadVapes Marcus and they have a 100mg nicotene VG ... should be a real cloud with that one ! ... maybe cut it with the thinner (pg ? juice or whatever the thinner stuff is called .... that should give you all the nicotine one could ask for ... I bought the 0mg VG myself to do the opposite ... cut the 36mg nicotene down a bit.

It's always a surprise when I can whiff a scent, and it's usually a pleasant scent to "normals", to me it's painful. On the flip side, I'm real popular when the dog gets skunked!
Regarding menthol, I smoked them for years, don't taste it in the juice. But the icy hit didn't do it for me. Maybe a different brand juice is better

Can't help you there because I don't know and will never know what a flavored Vape even tastes like as far as accuracy or 'realness' ... sounds like you have the type of anosmia where things can sometimes smell 'off' or bad ... and you get what is called 'windows' ... fractions of seconds when suddenly all is normal but smell then again leaves .... I'm glad I just lost it totally as having 'hints' of a lost sense would only bring back the claustrophobia I'm always fighting ...

Dinger, thanks ... I did go and learn about dryburning and it occurs to me that you are probably at the stage of just replacing the wicks with new stuff, and you're probably replacing the wire coils with your own wire roll ... are these pertinent to different units ? Can I buy my own wicking and wire ? is it even worth it ? Dry burning is so thorough it appears ... if one can rewick and recoil, I can't see the need to ever buy coils except perhaps the need for a new center tube or rubber o ring ....

Hi, Wizard. I'm a very new member, but not so new to vaping :). Welcome! I use a Nautilus mini tank with BVC coil - which would fit on your device. I'm a vodka cleaning person; I tend to vape higher VG juices and they gunk up coils. Water didn't work too well for me. You might look at higher VG, but not necessarily max VG for awhile. Still a bit of throat hit and good cloud production! Have fun experimenting!

Thanks! I love Cardinals. Anyway, I uploaded when I set up my profile. Went to the spot that said, "set up avatar" (or something like that) and selected "upload from existing file." Then, I choose an existing photo from my camera roll. Probably my instructions are clear as murky water, but I'm pretty sure that's what I did. Try again?

Yes, I got 30g kanthal and use cotton as my wick. Don't try to dryburn cotton. Will just torch it. You can dryburn silica tho. Eventually, the wire of stock coils will become worthless and will need to be replaced. I got a 100' spool of wire for $6 and a bag of cotton for $1. Equivalent of about 400 coils for me.

Did also pick up some spare insulators (lightningvapes). However, with all the tanks I've bought, I have enough "guts" for quite some time. :)

There will be some coils that simply can't be or aren't worth rebuilding. That's kinda why I like the kanger heads

Sent from.... ooh look! Something shiny!!!

At the base of your kanger/aro coil, there's a little "white" piece that separates the positive pin from the rest of the coil. That can be either silcone or rubber. (I prefer the silicone, but it's maybe a little less durable than the rubber.)

Click my "blog counter". I have some links for rebuilding the kanger-style coils (single, not dual). You'll see the various pieces. You can get a roll of silica - recommendation with that is to stick a needle through the center of it and then wrap your wire around the silica. Don't wrap tooooo tightly or you'll choke the wick, but that way, you don't necessarily have to wrap around a drill bit (like I do) and thread it.

Please make sure you have some sort of reader to test your coil before you fire it on a battery :) I build my coils to about 1.8ohms - that works for *ME*. Good luck - it's pretty fun, once you get going.

That's pretty much why I doubt I'll ever try flavors other than the menthol I started with.... I think I must fall somewhere in between you and Podunk on the anosmia spectrum... can't smell a thing but there are a very few things that I can sense there is a smell, hard to describe; but that odor sense is always the same. To me, the very faint whiff I get is identical for fresh ground coffee beans and canned cat food. I guarantee they do not actually smell the same! My sense of taste is much decreased, but it does still exist, so far. I'm a veterinary technician and very popular when it comes to dealing with the stinky stuff.
