Hello all,

My name's Chris and I joined this site just this morning after spending a night of researching e-cigarettes. I've been smoking for about three years now, and while I don't really have any intention of quitting, the idea of being able to smoke in my room without worry of the smell or stains associated with indoor smoking sounds like a dream. The health benefits, while not my main concern, increase the allure of the e-cig.

I first heard about e-cigs off a site run by the company Blu (Electronic Cigarette by blu E Cigarette - Home and decided to order the starter pack a couple days ago. At first, I thought it'd work just like advertised, but I felt like I ought to check out some reviews (a couple days after ordering, admittedly not my best move) and I found a lot of mixed opinions. After watching hour upon hour of video, I began to notice numbers and words used in unfamiliar context, like "DSE901" or "dripping." That much led me to other sites and videos, and I want to know more. I hope that my time spent here will further educate me in the culture and technologies of e-cigs.

Sorry for the long-winded introduction,
Chris

You have come to a great site both for information gathering and support. I've made a couple of missteps as well but have gleaned tons of helpful info here to help me move toward being analog free in my own way on my own time schedule. Vaping has been helping me and I am finding I like it better than smoking in many ways. Good luck to you.

Welcome, Chris.

Sorry about the Blu misstep, but join the club. We've all missed a step, especially during our first few steps.

Two things you might want to look at, the first being MistressNomad's short, sweet video tutorials: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html. They're good even if you're not broke.

The other is DonDaBoomVape's somewhat more comprehensive The Wonderful World of Vaping, Parts 1 thru 6: The ECF Library
Thanks, PiC, for the plug! And see the updated (and enhanced) version on CyberWolf's and my VapingGuides.com site ... but only after watching MN's wonderful videos. [Isn't she a great new asset to our community!]

You're quite welcome, Don. You were my unwitting mentor way back when I was starting out (way back, 10 or 12 weeks ago)

It was long ago, and far away...

...The world was younger than today

Thanks everyone. I've looked around some more since posting, and seen some people've spent over $750 before finding the setup that works for them?! I think I may need a job before moving up from my Blu (assuming it doesn't work for me)

Welcome to ECF, while some poeple do spend 750 and well over to find their perfect setup. More than likely you can find the one yourlooking for for well under that price range. Betweeen the wealth of knowledge and opinions that I have seen so far, this site is definitely the place to check out before spending your hard earned money.

I was going to go with the Blu but then I stumbled upon these forums and I changed my mind and got a different device. I have the PV I am currently using and just bought an upgrade from another member here. My total investment to date is under 200 dollars and that includes the 3-30mL bottles of juice I ordered.
