I'm looking forward to learning more from y'all and getting rid of these nasty cigs. Oh how I wish there were a good brick and mortar store here. I'm in Central Illinois, does anyone know of a store located in the state of Illinois? I'd be willing to go to either the Chicago or St. Louis area, even if it were to only window shop. :2cool:

Ooh, you started on the high end. I'm eyeing Provaris and Darwins greedily, but can't afford either anytime soon. :) However, I did make the switch from the stinkies using mostly 16mg juice, and I will make a recommendation of picking up an "emergency" 24mg liquid of some appealing flavor to you. For me, at least, having the emergency higher-strength liquid around has been a godsend, because when I'm really craving a cigarette, I hit the higher-strength stuff and the craving goes away. :)

I can't help you on Illinois stores, but I can say that in southern California where I'm at, good stores are few and far between, and that's also the general impression I've gotten from reading ECF. There ARE stores out there, but you're gonna need to talk to people in your general area to find out more details, so I hope one or more of 'em read this! :D

I'm very interested in tanks. Still looking around, but leaning toward a MAP DCT. I figured I should just wait till I get my gear, and then continue shopping after I've had a chance to try it.

After I finished my order on Blue Mist Vaping, I realized that I had chosen 16mg liquids. I was hoping to start off with 18mg, but they don't offer that. I will be ordering multiple sample kits in the next few days, and will be sure to get a variety of levels.

Wow, I guess jumping in head first you almost have to give it your all just to avoid taking a financial loss! Good luck!

The resale value and demand for the ProVari on the Classifieds here made this a no-brainer for me. If I don't like the gear, I take a loss and resell. If I like it, I eliminate the need to upgrade, thus saving money in the long run. This is also a matter of good timing. I learned about vaping the day before I got my annual bonus from work. :) Otherwise, plunking down that much cash in one fell swoop would have taken a little more planning and stressing out.

I'm also pretty convinced that this is going to be successful for me. I have a strong desire to quit smoking cigarettes, and an equally strong desire to keep ingesting nicotine. A couple hundred dollars is worth that. Had the timing not been so perfect, I would have gone into work on Friday morning and opened a "Vaping-Savings" account in the good ol' employer credit union.

Big spender. You shouldn't have any problem quitting with that setup. I went with a KGO, a cheaper and less variable but still awesome option. Just make sure you aren't putting low resistance atomizers on that provari when you are vaping at high voltage or you will kill them. I'd get a 306 LR atty with a 306 drip tip just for low voltage vaping (the 3.7 to 4.2v range). Just because you have the ability to turn that thing up doesn't mean you always should. Different juices taste different at different voltages (you like that? 3 differents in one sentence is win!). Anyway you will need options and it seems like the setup you purchased was all higher resistance stuff needed for high voltage vaping. If you don't go through the range of voltage there is no point in having a variable voltage PV. Remember that. Vaping at high voltage can be brutal with the vapor production and throat hit. Try the BOGE 2.0 ohm Low Resistance cartomizer 5 packs. They don't require as much mothering as the other cartos and are better for newbies. They can last a long time. Smoktech makes decent dual coil cartos but once again be careful about high voltage and low resistance.

Also I don't know if you care but Dark City Vapors has about the cheapest e-liquid I've seen. It could be a nice way to try some flavors and see what you like as well as find your ratio of PG/VG. Maybe you'll even find your all-day vape.

My stuff is almost here! Just checked the tracking on the ProVari, and it was checked into a town nearby yesterday, so it might just be waiting for me when I get home, though to me more realistic, maybe tomorrow. I'm probably going to have the PV a day or two before I get my first bottles of juice, but I'm still excited. Every analog I have makes me mad (and stinky).
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Hello Thrill and Welcome to ECF! I too am in central Illinois and have been looking for a B&M store too, but so far haven't found one. Unless they don't have a website ?? Looking at where your from, It makes me wonder if Champaign/Urbana might, being as it's a college town and knowing there are Tobacco shops there, they might carry something, idk.

Again, Welcome and Happy Vaping!

Welcome Thrill,
I am also new. I have been getting along with 2 Metro batteries and their cartomizers. The only smokes I have had have been when 1 battery dies before the other charges. I am waiting (90% on the forum are waiting by the mail box) for 2 eGo 1100 mah passthrough batteries plus the cartomizers, juice, and all the goodies, so that I can still vape even if the battery is charging. Hopefully the two 1100 mah batteries can be used as an emergency generator if the power goes off. LOL

That's great. I've been vaping 5 weeks now, started with pretty much the same gear. I got the V1 and extension cap with bigger batteries but other than that....It's a great device. I did buy a liquinator tank to use my Boge 3ohm cartos. I really like it so far, very hassle and fidget-free. I have found I really like my 3ohms at about 4.8 to 5 volts. I think you will really enjoy it.

There are a few shops in STL also. Well, locations. There are kiosks at the Mills Mall and Mid Rivers Mall. Have not tried them, but there is also a Shop in Wentzville. I am not sure if I can throw a link out there but you can Google USA puffnstuff(all one word) and get their info. Its a small shop but very friendly and cheap on juices.

And welcome and Congrats on the purchase!
