Hello all, I am a newbie here and have only been vaping about 1 solid month now, but I have only been off analogs for only 13 days so far. I was a 2 1/2 pack a day Marlboro Red smoker. Now I vape on a V2 ecig (auto battery) using their V2 Red cartridges, which I now understand a V2 is nothing more then an over priced KR808D-1 with over priced flavor cartridges. Anyways, I have a couple of questions...

  1. I am wanting to move up to an eGO style kit with battery and with Clearomizers (either CE4, CE4, or CE6) and I have seen on here a lot of people say, "DON'T BUY ON EBAY because the things on eBay comes from China!". But the more and more I research things, the more and more I am finding out that over 90% of all batteries, clearomizers, tanks, cartridges, mods, and other PV supplies are manufactured in China. This includes a lot of the recommendations that are given by various members right here on this sight and seconded by others, and this also includes eliquid as well. So my question is this, knowing everything I just said, why shouldn't I buy my PV and supplies on eBay (give me very good reasons because most of the sellers I checked out have EXCELLENT reputations) and If not on eBay why somewhere else what is your recommendation and how will it be different then the excellent ones on eBay?
  2. Please recommend me some eliquid VERY SIMILAR in taste to V2's Red 1/8%, I need it fairly inexpensive for about 15ml or more with free or very low cost shipping?

Thanks! :2cool:

Most if not all ego batteries come from China, but there are a few trusted brands that are higher quality. Joyetech, vision, and kanger are the most reputable for that style of battery and accessories.

With eBay you need to be sure of what you're buying because you don't want to get some cheap blister pack knock offs that die in a week or two.

I have no idea what the v2 red tastes like but for cheap juice you could check out Ec blends or mt baker vapor, I personally didn't care for mt baker but many others do.

I recommend a Joyetech eGo with 650, 900 or 1000 mAh battery. Chose the battery size on how big you want the eGo to be and how long you want the battery to go between charges. It's 510/eGo threaded so you have big variety of atomizers to choose from: 510 cartos, small carto tanks, clearos, etc. A pack of 510 Smok XL 1.7 ohm single coil cartos would be a good place to start along with some 24ng tobacco flavored juice.

:thumb: This.

Some facts about the Chinese e-cig manufacturers. The e-cig market is very competitive in China, to the point of being "cut throat" competitive. Only a few of the manufacturers are true "innovators" and come out with new & improved equipment. These company's products are copied and cloned by the other companies, and often with lesser quality products but made to look very similar to the originals. These are the so-called "knock offs" or "clones" which can be so hit or miss.

Joytech, Vision, Innokin, Kanger, and recently Aspire are the true innovators and market leaders, and their products are recognized as being better than the others generally speaking.

Remember, "ego" is merely the name of a class of battery, not a brand name. Unless a vendor advertises a product by a brand name, it is likely a clone or knock off and the quality will be hit or miss.

Ebay unfortunately has a notorious reputation for selling clones and knockoffs. Unless you know what you're looking for - Buyer Beware.

Some reputable US e-cig vendors are AltSmoke, Discount Vapors, My Vapor Store, and RTD Vapor.

my first ego-style battery was from volcanoeecigs.com they're from hawaii. good quality stuff, but a little spendy. honestly, most ego batteries are very similar. you could probably get one from your local gas station and be fine for your first one. at some point, you'll want to move up to a better vape, though, and get a variable voltage (or wattage) mod, then get into mechanical mods. variable wattage for a new vaper is probably the safest thing to go for, because you don't have to match your voltage to the ohm rating of the atty you're using. if i were you, i'd get a cheap ego from a gas station, and look into a low-cost variable wattage device like the smoktech zmax, zmax mini, the vamo, etc. if i would have kept trying to "not smoke" by using an ego, i would have given up a long time ago. as far as flavors of liquid go....i get everything from vaporrenu.com. they have excellent prices, good liquid, and you can customize it tons of different ways. not sure about the flavor you're asking about, but if it's a tobacco flavor, they have flavors on renu that match up with pretty much any tobacco flavor you need plus any other flavor you're looking for. use the code nujuice at checkout for 15% off your first order....then after that, the code renu will get you 10% off every order.

and i second ecblendflavors.com but have no idea what the v2 tastes like. their flavors i've tried are excellent and their prices are good with cheap shipping.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, but you are still all hyped on not buying from eBay EVEN AFTER I said that the sellers I checked out HAVE EXCELLENT REPUTATIONS. Anyways, I still thank you. I can't afford to spend $35 or more for a kit, I just can't afford it, I actually had to quit smoking because of lack of money. So $35 or more for a kit is OUT of the question. I know V2 Cost more, but even now I have to make myself only vape 1 prefilled cartridge a day even though one cartridge a day is not completely satisfying the cravings. I figure if I can get an eGo type starter kit with CE clearomizers and vape maybe 2ml to 3 ml a day of eliquid that will do it, but the kit has to be VERY low cost. So while maybe in the long run I would save money going with a more notable manufacturer, it will cost me more upfront and that upfront cost I can't do, so while I may have to replace clearomizers every couple of months or so that cost is easier for me because it is spread out more then having to pay a bunch upfront.

So I guess this leads me to a 3rd a CRUCIAL question......
  • If you could only afford to spend a total of $30 (NO MORE) on an eGo starter kit with clearomizers where would it come from?

That's a tough one. You could get a single battery for that price, but you still will need a clearo, charger, and juice (?)

I understand your financial situation. I was recently without a job for almost 3 months myself, and exhausted my savings just to survive each month. I hope your situation improves and that you can find a setup that you can afford. Best of luck to you, brother.

Since the question as stated has been answered, and I don't deal in dollars anyway...

I can do it for $5.

Have you considered refilling the cartomisers that you are buying already? That will save you most of the money you are spending. The only thing you've got to be sure of is that you don't vape them until they are so dry that they burn, then you can refill them. A cartomiser holds 1ml or less. 10ml of fluid costs $5 or less. 30ml costs $10 or less. You can re-fill each carto several times.

Save that money until you have enough for an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner battery and a 510-808 adapter. Now you can vape longer and experiment with changing voltages.

Buying empty 510 cartridges will save more.

Save a bit longer and buy a good clearomiser.

Keep saving.

I've purchased several items (mod and tanks) on ebay and have been able to verify using the serial numbers that they are legit. I know there are a lot of knock offs circulating around but if you do you research, you can get high quality items at a great price through ebay. I also check the seller's feedback and ask any questions needed before purchasing.

How to fill cartos:

And I know the ebay thing has been answered already but if I may just add another thing I learned here in ECF, ebays buyer rating is based on amount of transaction and not really about the product itself. It doesn't have a dedicated review section for the merchandise. Most of the feedback is about shipping time, processing, non-delivery, etc.

1. I have used many products that have been made in China and they have worked well. I wouldn't say to avoid them, but their quality control might not be the best.

2. I prefer more fruit/other flavors, can't help there. Sorry! But I can say that I use MtBakorVapor. Very inexpensive. 15ml bottle for about 4.99. With coupon for free shipping if you search for it! Can't go wrong there!
