Hi, I am a new 3 day vaper with only 3 analogs during this time. Doing well but now I have a burning tongue sensation and a sore throat. Being new there are so many different things I think could be causing the problem - but if I can't figure out which one it is I'm going to end up going back to analogs - which I do not want to do!! Am I vaping too much, is there too much nicotine, bad vaping technique, allergy to e-juice? Can anybody help before I go back to my trusty, yet very unhealthy, analogs??

This is my 2nd day vaping...seemingly continuously...lol! I am having the same problem...my tongue feels like it does after I drink super hot coffee. I don't have any high nic stuff right now, so for me...it's not that. It may just be that you are vaping more than you smoked?? I think that's my problem since I can sit here at the computer and vape away. I have to go outside to smoke, and sometimes I have something going on that I can't drop right when I want to smoke. I'm giving myself a few days to see if it evens out. After that, I may try using more VG and see if it's a PG sensitivity.
Welcome to the World of Vaping, BTW!

Those aren't rare issues when one begins vaping. Be sure to drink LOTS of water to keep yourself hydrated.

And be patient with yourself as you develop your technique. Sometimes we use different muscles or overuse muscles as we vape in the beginning because we are so conscious of how we are doing it.

And do try different nicotine levels. You might very well be getting more than you need. Or less... and therefore vaping more often. Finding a balance for yourself takes a bit of time and experimentation. (I'm one of those lucky people who gets the hiccups when I have a bit too much nicotine. It automatically tells me to take a break from vaping!)

Do try both PG and VG based liquids. Most people aren't particularly sensitive to either one, but it is worth finding out if one works better for you than the other.

The burning tongue might be due to nicotine, PG, VG, or simply overuse. (Yeah.... LOL - I know it sounds funny!)

The moral is experiment a lot and give it a time. I'm sure things will start to straighten themselves out. Come back to the forum anytime you have a question or concern. The people here are great!

VG is based on Vegetable Glycerin. PG is based on Propylene Glycol. They are both fine bases. They have slightly different qualities. Some people are sensitive to one or the other. Most e-liquids are PG based. Many have some of each. (When you see the little dotted line under a word on the forum, you can hover with your mouse over the term and get a mini clue about it.)

Oh! Forgot the how they are different part!

VG is considered to be sweeter and produce more vapor but it tends to kill flavor. It is also more viscous than PG and needs to be thinned for most PV applications. That's the short version!

I noticed an itchy (allergy type) feeling in my throat and ear last night when vaping cinnamon- not having the problem with any other juice so I figure it must be something in that particular juice.

I have a peanut allergy so I know the difference between a life threatening reaction and just an irritation- the cinnamon is just an irritation.

I'm on day 2 of vaping and while I haven't had any burnt tongue feeling yet, I do find that vaping dries out my mouth and throat a lot. Could be sensitivety to PG, but I'm hoping that I'm just not used to it and it will pass soon. I remember when I tried to use pipe smoking in place of analogs my tongue got that burnt feeling for the 1st couple of days, but in time I guess I got used to it.
