Got my new 510 yesterday used it a little bit last night, tried to use it a lot today. So far I think I like it. I ordered from electronicstix.com. I had watched all of MistressNomad's videos: I made videos for newbies! In particular, broke newbies What I had ordered was the Standard Joye 510 kit and a Complete Crystal LED 510 Cartomizer Kit. My question is about the Standard Joye 510 kit, I received it as stated in the description and everything appears to be good.

Here is what confused me, the genuine joye atomizers have carts attached to them. Without paying enough attention, I decided to drip some e-juice into this cart. Seems to work okay, but after trying that I tried one of the pre-filled carts that came with the kit. That's when I realized, there's no spongy material in the cart that was already attached to the atomizer that I dripped into. I believe this is the polyfill material... I was able to vape off of my non-polyfilled cart for a while without adding anything to it. Is it a bad idea to do this? Is it common to receive carts that do not have polyfill in them? I suppose these were sort of a bonus since it did not list that there was empty carts with the kit. I've attached a picture of the two carts. Are my assumptions correct?

In my kit I had "blank carts" too. I actually use those for dripping as I don't have a "drip tip". I know of no reason why you can't do that. But yes it is normal to have blank carts on your atty in shipping.

Looking at your pic, yes you have the filled and the blank.

Edit:
Oh and to add you can add filler to the carts if you like, the blue foam or the tea bag. But like I said, I just use my blanks when I have the notion to drip.

As they are shipped, attys have a "blank cart" on them to keep from the atty drying out. These are kind of a "bonus" as stated above and work good for dripping or can have filler added to them for use as a regular cart. Be sure to "blow out" a new atty to remove the "primer fluid" that keeps them damp for shipping in order to have best flavor.

Like the previous poster said, they come with one that's blank. What you were doing is called dripping and as long as you don't have automatic batteries you can drip vape. The automatic batteries have a hole in the top to accuate the switch when you puff and if juice goes into the battery you will ruin it. As long as you have Munual batteries you will be fine.

I did get manual batteries. I was aware of the importance from watching the videos. I will make sure next time to blow the primer out. I thought it was odd that it looked slightly damp when I removed the cart from the atty. I had looked around the forums but didn't see much about empty carts. So thanks for the fast replies, very helpful.

If you enjoy dripping, you will really want a drip tip. They serve as a mouthpiece which you can drip right through. Just about any vendor sells them. Cartomizers are a great option if you don't like constantly messing with liquid. They replace both the atty and cart and hold a lot of liquid so you can just fill 'em up and vape for hours. You can also buy them prefilled.
