I just ordered a liberty flights riva 510 carto delux. http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=157

It was a suggestion from a link I found on this forum.

Now for my first question. I live in small town Oklahoma, if I run into a situation where I run out of cartos can I use any of the ones from our many indian smoke shops around, I see the typical brands. blue, 21st century and a few others similar to what the Murphy's gas stations Cary, Or am I out of luck, I read something about an adapters.????

Also. I am guessing the 501 is a good standard. I like to tinker with things, what would be my next upgrade to try different tanks ect.

I ordered their e-liquid hs premium in a Turkish/-American tobacco flavor. I have always loved the Camel Turkish favors, and also. Pipe tobacco,

Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, I looked at the kit that you just ordered. The vendor, of which I'm not familiar with, is overstating how long the batteries will last. They are 650 mah batteries, which will last 6.5 hours each; not the 12 hours (according to use) claimed by the vendor. Such claims always make me cautious of the vendor and equipment being offered. Too bad you didn't inquire about the product here before placing your order.

The threading of the batteries and cartomizers are as stated 510 threaded. There's no way of knowing what the Indian smoke shop cartos threads are. They could be 510 or 808 threaded, or a proprietary thread customized just for that company. Expect the cartos that come in your kit to last 1-2 weeks since you'll be using a dark colored e-liquid in them (dark juices take a harder toll on cartos than clear ones). Tobacco flavors are generally darker. Also, don't be surprised if the flavor tastes nothing like tobacco. Tobacco flavors are impossible to duplicate in e-liquids. You'd be better off finding a non-tobacco flavor in the long run.

Hi - Green Smart Living cig-a-likes use 510 threading as well. I have a couple I got from a liquor store close to me. They are pricey, but good in a pinch or when I want to super-stealth vape. I put CE3 or Vision Nano clearomizers on them.

I seem to recall that the Riva is an eGo/Kgo clone as far as it's threading, but it also takes Riva cartridges that won't fit on other 510 devices for some reason (I may be wrong about this, but there is an eGo clone out there that does take some odd carts that don't fit anything else):

This should be the threading:

Hello Sidmind and welcome to ECF!

Liberty Flights is a very good vendor and I've been ordering from them for 2 1/2 years, without any problems. They stand by the products they sell and their customer service is very good. They have a subforum here where you can post and ask questions about your order or the products they carry. They also offer 20% discount to ECF members--click the 20% off button, located in the upper left corner, before you start carting your goods.

Liberty Flights

The kit you ordered is a great value and offers two Riva (eGo clone) batteries, true 3.7v unregulated. I have a bunch of them in my arsenal and they are still working great. How long they last depends on how often you vape and what resistance atties you use--the lower the resistance, the faster the battery will discharge.

Cartomizers are disposable, unfortunately, so if you want to keep using them, you should always have a few boxes on hand. I recommend single coil Boge or Smoktek cartos for your Rivas, standard or LR, both kinds will work. Cartomizers need to be kept moist at all times or they will burn. I usually refill them several times (up to 10 ml of ejuice total) and then discard them. You may also purchase a carto-tank, which will significantly extend the lifespan of your cartomizers.

If you want to try a fillerless head, I recommend any of the changeable-coil clearomizers, like Kanger T3/BCC Tabac, eVod, eGo CC clearomizer, or a mini Vision ViVi Nova. Look them up, read about them and see if they may interest you. I use all of them and like them. If you decide to buy them, make sure you get some spare coils, 2.4Ω would be ideal on your 3.7v Rivas.

Good luck and happy vaping.

Very fast delivery on the 510. I got it today.

This model comes with tanks that have to be filled, I have read the leak some. But this seems to leak a great deal around the screw threads. And also. Every time I take a puff I get some of the liquid in my mouth out of the drip tube, is that normal?

I tried filling the tube about 1/2 way full and within a few minutes it was basically empty. It also seems to not have as deep a smoke when 1/2 full but after it starts to empty out it actually starts smoking better.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Hi Sid. So if your 510t included any other empty tanks, heres what you need to do. Take an empty tank, and insert it into the other atomizer to knock out the center hole. Remove the tank portion and then open the cap, remove the "chad" (hanging piece inside the tank frome removing the center knock out)and fill with liquid. Place into the unused atomizer firmly until the little groove bottoms out on the edge of the atomizer leaving a smooth transition between the two pieces(no gaps). You should feel a distinct snap when the two pieces are properly engaged. Attach this assembly to your battery and take a few short draws, to prime the wick, without firing the button. Once you can see bubbles coming up when you take a drag, your atomizer should be primed and ready to use.

Those tanks are known to be somewhat wonky, especially if you leave the little plastic hanging piece in there. This fact combined with the possibility of having a wick out of place keys you into the reasons as to why most vapers eventually leave that feed system and move onto less fatiguing methods. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Sid, I'm confused. The kit you linked above is a cartomizer kit. What kind of clearos did you get with it? Did you order them a la carte? Could you tell us the name of your clearos or post a link?

Myself, if I got into a bind, I'd probably nab a disposable or two while waiting on an order. Such as Blu's disposables are better than their cartomizers ("cartridges" they call them) and pretty overpriced. NJoy's aren't bad in a pinch though I prefer Blu's (funny thing about Blu, they make a decent disposable but their kits leave a lot to be desired).

Thanks to lucid, I figured out the leaking issue, I thought that little rubber cap was to be thrown away after filling the tank. So I did.. If you had never mentioned a hanging chad, I woUld have never put 2+2 together,m
So basically everything was leaking into the atomizer. Now I have that problem figured out it seems to be working much better.
So far I have not had to worry about the hanging chad, the cap is very soft rubber and the hole closes up behind itself after pulling it back out, Now I just need to dig those two rubber caps out of the trash can,,, lol. Lucky it included 5 total.

As far as the link I provided, yes I agree I am confused also. The add said it included 5 carts, which a cart should have some foam in it right? These don't, it is just a clear plastic tank with a hole on one end, and the rubber stopper on the other,

This is what the ones included with my kit look like. Only clear white instead of black.

Perhaps they sent me the wrong thing???

Well, if you ordered a Riva deluxe cartomizer kit, then they sent you the wrong kit. But it is a nice kit, so you can either complain and ask them to send you a pack of cartomizers or you can learn how to use those little tanks. Your choice. Check you invoice and see what you ordered first. :) The ego (Riva) T is older technology, but it works.

I suggest you watch those videos by Cozzicon; he's reviewing the eGo-T, but I believe it's identical (or very similar) to your Riva-T.

I emailed L-F. And it turns out I was wrong on my first post with, The actual version I ordered was the tank model. So they did not do anything wrong, I just wanted to clear that up. http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=55. This is the model I ordered.

I have been getting used to using it, and it's working much better.

Thank you all for the help.

Looks similiar to my AtmosRX kit which is also an E-Go clone, except mine came with a single re-fillable tank/atomizer which I upgraded to a rebuildable model. I'm now thinking of upgrading again to one of the Kanger T3's as I've heard good things about the bottom-mounted atomizers and the rebuild kits are only like $1.99 at my local store. My battery is also 650 mA and lasts me an entire 10-hour shift at work with me sneaking hits with it quite often.

Lucid, just wanted to know your advice helped me out, I changed tanks the other day and DID NOT. Get rid of the chad like you suggested. All of the sudden my device stopped working, after messing with it awhile. I saw that rubber chad down into the little hole blocking the element. I was about to order a new atomizer until I remembered your post and figured out the problem.

Thanks
