Newbie with Tank Question?

Newbie needing some guidance,

Have a Lavatub using multiple tanks to switch flavors

How do you minimize flooding?

I generally screw the tank off and tap it on a hard surface which produces several drops and seems to clear the flood.
I will also up the voltage and this solves the issue sometimes.

I use dual 1.5 ohms or single 3 ohm. On the smaller tanks with 1.5ohm there never seems to be a flood, why?

Cartomizers with multiple holes, why use these over a single hole?

What manufacturer seems to make the most reliable cartos? I have purchased from volcano and smoktek and they have been good, are there better choices?

Thanks

Things that can cause flooding in a cartotank:

Too hard of a draw: Try adjusting your vaping technique. Slow, long and gentle is best.

Some carto brands are notorious to flood easier than others. (ie. Smoktech)

User error in filling a carto: Always pre-prep your cartomizer until the polyfill looks like a slushy drink. Do not get liquid in the airhole while filling from the top (use a wooden toothpic to block the airhole).

User error in filling a tank: Pre-assemble the tank components of both endcaps to the tube. (Insert tank accessory tool on carto here) Insert carto 3/4 of the way into the tank. Fill about 80% full. Insert carto the rest of the way in tank. Remove accessory tool and replace with drip tip. Vape.

*Filling a tank with the top cap off can cause flooding when the cap is put on.

User error: Not choosing the correct number of holes (or too large of holes) for the thickness of the juice.

* Cartomizer quality control can be hit or miss with many brands.

Not directly a cartomizer issue, but the sharp top edge of a cartomizer can damage the o-rings as it passes through the inside of the end caps. These rubber gaskets are the only thing that keeps juice from leaking between the carto and the endcaps. If damaged, the tank can leak. Get a tank accessory tool like in the below video to to protect o-rings and prevent this from happening.

I personally have found a new favorite in the Ikenvape Platinum "Punched" cartos. It is available in a standard 35mm length or the Mega (45mm) length. You can find the link to that carto and many other vendors that sell prepunced cartomizers about mid way down in the post in this link:
