Hi everyone. I posted a problem I was having with my tongue and throat about 4 days ago. I went to my doctor and he told me my tongue was severely irritated from the e-juice I am using. I get my product at a local mall. My doctor gave me what he called Magic mouthwash. It's basically Malox, benadryl and Lanacane. It numbs the mouth and tongue and is helping to take away the redness and burn. I used different e-cigs before this and never had a problem. I had a 51 Duo before I bought my 510 EGO. Never had a problem. Could it possibly be the vendors product that I am currently using that are causing this problem? I know not all e-juices are created equal. The 51 Trio was a thought I had of getting because the 51 Duo is outdated. Really need some help!!

My tongue was taking a bit of a hit, nothing too serious, just seemed a bit raw but I think it was the heat, I use the ceramic cartos. I just stuck a drip tip on the end of the cartomizer and it seems like things have cooled down considerably, I'll let you know if it gives me improvement.

Some juices are high in a peppery kind of thing which does irritate me, others aren't but I'm thinking proximity to the heater (atomizer/cartomizer) is the main culprit here so I'll try some distance.

I am having the same problem, and I posted a question on another area of this forum, but no answers yet.
My question was if anyone had been able to associate this with any particular liquid.
My go-to juice is Halo and I don't seem to have any problem with it, but i was vaping alot of sour apple from another vendor three days ago, and yesterday, I began to get ulcers throughout my mouth,
There are alot of prior posts on this site about mouth blisters, but I have not found one directly related to juice.

Everyone will have different tolerance levels for juice so it wouldn't help much to get others experience. Unlike tobacco, juice is probably more akin to candy with the different flavorings and all, so maybe some can eat fireballs all day, I can't, so you have to go on what affects you personally. Maybe try diluting down some of your flavored juices with PG or VG and see if that helps?

BTW, I put a drip tip on the end of a cartomizer today about 4 hours ago and the tongue rawness seems to be subsiding, I'll know for sure in the morning, for me at least, the heat was an issue and getting the heater further away from the tongue seems to be working. I'll check back in tomorrow though.

Apple did it for me when I first started. My tongue hurt so badly! I tried it again after a few months and it still makes my mouth sore. No more apple flavors for me :(

I've been trying to figure this out for a while. My theory is your body needs more hydration. I read a post with somebody saying those symptoms went away after properly hydrating by drinking tons of water or gatorade. My throat and mouth were irritated by vaping on higher nic level juices, but then after drinking more water than usual, it's become sustainable. I still get mad throat hit, but it's a good one. Also, I'm starting to believe that the more you drip with an atty, the more the nicotine collects at the bottom, and the harsher it vapes. I've been blowing out my atty from time to time and it's been helping.

It could be an allergy to PG or VG, although PG allergies are more common. PG also gives a stronger throat hit. You could try using more VG and less PG to see if that helps and if it does, you may want to go to all VG. I thought Magic Mouthwash was given to people with Thrush, which is an over growth of yeast in the throat and mouth usually brought on by use of antibiotics. It can also be caused by too much sugar. So it could also be from VG which is sweet and more coating as it is thicker, thus creating thicker vapor. It could also be caused by sweet flavorings. I'd start with comparing PG and VG and flavorings as well.
Finally as was mentioned earlier, it could be due to excessive heat. If that is the case, you can use longer attys, cartos, and drip tips. Attys can also vary in heat production as well. LR attys burn hotter to simulate 5v vaping on 3.7v pvs. Atty heats also vary by brands as well. If you find your problem to be related to attys, you should read up on ohms and then get an ohm reader to test your attys. On your 510 Ego, make sure you are not using LR attys if you think it could be heat related and especially since you just started using one. If you are not sure if they are LR or Low Resistance attys, just look on the atty for an LR either right on the atty or on the bottom of it. Joye makes 510 XL (extra long) attys that work on Egos and that would definitely help if you find that heat is the problem and add an extra long drip tip. Do not get metal ones as they heat up, anodized aluminum ones are better but the delrins are the most heat resistant. I hope this helps and the best of luck to you!
