Newbie with V4L Carto questions/trade? Clean 'em out?

Good evening,

I started out with a kit from V2cigs and loved almost all of the flavors from V2. Then I found the forums and learned how to clean out the empties, bought some juice from Pink Spot Vapors, refilled 'em and I was even more thrilled. Then I ordered some V2 blanks, and was happy as a clam refilling with my juices from PS.

Well, after reading rave rave reviews here about V4Life, I was excited to see they had a lot more flavors than V2, so I ordered a shorty battery (I love the shorty battery that I have from V2- it usually lasts me about 3 hours if I go out, and I have two other regular-size V2 auto batteries as well so I've never run 'out of power' -- plus I "smoke" for the feel of a cigarette in my hand and in my mouth more than for the nicotine and the 'feel' is what's keeping me from smoking regular cigarettes) and also ordered a couple of packs of cartos (I wanted to try the flavors before buying the juice, as others have noted it seems the flavors I THINK I'll love are the ones I don't, and vice versa!).

And then, before my package even arrived, V4Life had the Black Friday sale, so I made a second order, grabbed some V4Life blanks, and a few more sample packs of flavored carts. I ordered both CoolCarts and WOW, since I didn't know what would be closest to the V2 Carts that I've been using. I figured once I found my favorite flavors I'd order juices next time.

Well... I'm really sad. I don't like a single flavor, the vapor is really weak compared to my V2, and the cartos all make this annoyingly loud "popping" and "crackling" sound when I vape them, regardless of whether I used my PT, the V4Life battery or the V2 batteries (although at least on the V2 batteries I do get a bit more vapor and a bit LESS of the "Rice Krispy Treats" sound effects). I tried a few hits from every one of the menthol cartos in the sample pack, and there isn't even one that I like enough to finish.

So... first off, let me say I'm sure that this is just individual preference, I have nothing bad to say about V4Life, but the flavor and vapor production just isn't for me. So I'd like to know if newbies have a thread for trades/giveaways/cheap cheap sales? I've listed what I have (unopened, unused) below, just in case.

Barring that, I'd like to know if I should try cleaning out some of these carts and filling them with a juice that I know I love? It really does seem to me that the carts are the issue- the caramel flavor is like, "almost delicious" but has this weird aftertaste. All of the menthol flavors in my sample pack have the same weird aftertaste. So, I guess it could just be whatever blend V4Life uses, and maybe the cartos are worth cleaning and refilling?

Anyone else used both V2 and V4Life and have any thoughts?

Thank you guys. I'm really bummed that I spent about $90 thinking I'd be set for a couple of months, and now I need to figure out what to do next. Thank goodness I still have V2 blanks and a lot of Pink Spot juices left, but... My second order from V4Life shipped yesterday, right before I got the mail and too late for me to cancel the whole order. I didn't list those flavors below (or the blank carts) but I will do that after I give them a fair chance, but I'm not feeling optimistic.

* Chocolate Cool Carts 11mg (4) - mislabeled as "Wintergreen" but V4Life says they are indeed chocolate
* WOW Apple 11mg (3)

Feel free to share your thoughts, or PM me if these are your favorite flavors and you can't bear the thought of my boiling all that sweet sweet juice just to discover that I really don't like the V4L cartos.

I'm really sorry to hear that you didn't like anything from your order. I've personally never ordered from V4L but, it sounds like you got some vertical coiled cartos since horizontal coiled cartos are really quite.

Since you got 5 posts now. After an hour, you should be able to make a classifieds thread to sell or trade them. Just make sure you follow the rules:

Also, with the cartos you've used thus far. Just boil and rinse them until they don't have a scent to them anymore. You can fill it with any juice that you like at this point. So, it's not going to be a complete waste of money.

I found my two favorite juices at V4L though I did try a lot I didn't like too. You use the Classifieds or Pay it Forward

I currently prefer the SmokelessImage and Bloogplanet carto blanks. I buy my V4L WOW juices and some other PG w/ 30% VG or less juices. I prefer V4L manual batteries (manual for the better hit, V4L for the 10-13 second cutoff) though I also enjoy the extra charge and better sealed threaded end of SmokelessImage manuals.

Thanks so much for the replies! I cleaned out the cartomizers tonight along with all my V2 cartos and will give them a whirl with the PS Vapors flavors that I know I love. That way I can make sure it was just the flavors I chose ended up being not for me.

I was a menthol smoker but have fallen in love with the sweet flavors (e.g. Cherry V2, Banana Creme from PSV, etc.) so I'm also finding it odd when I order "fruity" flavors and they taste more like tobacco/smoky. I know that a lot of folks are looking for that, though so I guess it makes sense. I need to search the forum for other folks who prefer "sickly sweet" or "minty fresh" flavors.

I wish the trial and error finding a flavor weren't costing me a small fortune. The first month of vaping I saved so much over smoking cigarettes, but this month, I'm afraid my 'search for the perfect flavor' is not making the switch cost effective.
